superflawless
I find the entire saga extremely fascinating. There are multiple angles you can view this ongoing saga. In case you are not caught up on this story of fraud and luxury branded goodes, here is what happened thus far: "According to ST, police have received over 180 reports against the couple, who owe customers at least S$32 million worth of undelivered luxury items. About 200 people in Singapore were purportedly left hanging after trusting a young couple with their money to help them buy branded goods at a supposedly lower price. The reports were against two companies, Tradeluxury and Tradenation, which was registered as a precious stones and precious metals dealer. However, instead of delivering the items as promised, the pair suddenly became uncontactable. One customer, 37-year-old Mr Huang, told the Chinese daily that he started following the couple on Instagram last year. They once helped him buy a Rolex timepiece for S$26,000 and sent it to his home a month later. After confirming that the watch was authentic, Mr Huang – surname transliterated from Chinese – decided to trust the buyers and placed more orders earlier this year. From January to February, he ordered six Rolex and Patek Philippe watches worth a total of S$700,000. Mr Huang said the price the couple offered was 10% lower than the market price, so it was “very worth it”. When the watches still hadn’t arrived after many months, he contacted the couple for an explanation, and they added him to a Telegram group in end-June. It was then that Mr Huang learned that many other customers had not received their orders. Another customer, 29-year-old Ms Zhang, told Shin Min Daily News that she ordered a S$20,000 Rolex from the couple for a friend in May. The couple told her they got the items from Switzerland and could deliver them in two weeks. However, like Mr Huang, she has yet to get her hands on the watch. Ms Zhang added that two university graduates had reached out to her about being in similar predicaments. One bought S$40,000 worth of designer handbags and hoped to flip them for a profit to pay off student loans, while the other spent S$60,000 on watches. Neither of them has received their goods. A self-employed person, also surnamed Huang, shared that he saw the couple’s listings on Carousell and purchased three Rolex watches for S$78,000 in June. When the buyers failed to deliver the products, the 50-year-old lodged a police report. He added that his request for a refund was unsuccessful. The couple also did not respond to any of his enquiries. All three customers said that there are almost 200 others still waiting for their items. The total value of the goods is estimated to be at least S$32 million. When contacted by Shin Min Daily News, the police confirmed that they had received reports and that the case is currently under investigation. On 27 Jun, authorities arrested a 26-year-old Singaporean for his suspected involvement in cheating offences. Police impounded his passport and let him out on bail the next day, pending the completion of investigations. His wife, a 27-year-old Thai national, also assisted the police with their investigations. She surrendered her passport to them on 30 Jun. However, the police were subsequently unable to contact the pair. It has now been revealed that the couple had fled Singapore by hiding in a container compartment of a lorry. How did they escape? A 40-year-old Malaysian man had helped the couple to leave Singapore illegally. The Malaysian was arrested and charged last Friday for his role in the couple's escape on 4 July. Singapore police on Wednesday said arrest warrants and Interpol notices have been issued against the couple – a 26-year-old Singaporean man, Pi Jiapeng, and his 27-year-old Thai wife, Pansuk Siriwipa." Thank you so much for this update. I have been wondering what happened to that Canadian robber. I wonder if Thailand deliberately booked him on a flight to Canada that lands in UK so that UK can apprehend and extradite him to Singapore. In any case, back to Malaysian man and Thai woman, if Thailand boots out the Malaysian for illegal entry into Malaysia, then Singapore can ask for him to be extradited into Singapore. I suppose the Thai woman will be OK unless she leaves Thailand.

I think the Malaysian will be charged for illegal entry - unless the Malaysian managed to secure another passport (I don't know if it is possible, I do not know about things like this, I swear!) - and enters Thailand legally using the new passport. But then again, he cannot remain in Thailand indefinitely. And I wonder if Singapore has finally sorted out an extradition treaty with Thailand since 2016. Single Mother Cries After Learning Of Son’s Involvement In S$32M Luxury Goods Scam A source claims that the mother of the man did not know he was involved in such antics. She took the news pretty hard when she finally found out. A source claiming to be familiar with the family shared that Pi is very close with his mother. His mother only found out about them when the supposed inside source went to inform her. One of the scam victims had also gone to look for Pi’s mother, but it was obvious that she did not know anything about her son’s actions. In fact, she purportedly kept crying in front of the victim, clearly disheartened by such news. Do you believe she did not know? The son is her only child.... yet they did not live together? He is a free man after completing his sentence in Thailand and therefore Thailand did not allow him to escape but simply kicked him out as he has no legal status to stay in Thailand. Sparing a thought for those hardworking officers (brothers and sisters) who missed lunch or toilet breaks when understaff. I believed the ICA has put in tremendous efforts to make improvements to make everyone happy, keeping Singapore safe at the border. I hope constructive feedbacks or ideas from fellow Singaporeans towards improving the situation and showing a friendly smile is another humane way to show our gratitude. We should feel blessed. But from the Singaporean the passport was compounded. That means he fled without a valid passport. Same for the Thai lady. He would now need a new passport to enter Thailand legally. It is not sure whether they reached Thailand. It seems that they are in Malaysia and Malaysia extradites criminals to Singapore. However, with some helpers they may flee Malaysia also into Thailand. The problem starts when people realise that there is something fishy with them, then they might run out of money sooner or later as plenty of "helping" people will try to squeeze money out of them. The problem is also whether the police took action to trace the money... of the couple.

Any guesses? Plastic surgery? Which countries would be safe for criminals like them? Which countries would not be under the jurisdiction of Interpol? The answer is Thailand Thailand and Thailand.
