Growing money.

Isn't it a simple calculation of spending less or investing smartly.

For me the question is always: Do I really need a big fortune?

No one will know the future, inflation rates 10-30 years later. Best is spend wisely

Singalion mentioned , no one need a great fortune, yes totally!
no1 here is seeking for fortune, we are seeking for retirement
not fortune

Think U missed the point. It's the reits increasing rents that forces prices to go up

Opened a gold savings account about 3 years ago and the price had since gone up like crazy.

Wondering is it time to cash out or wait till it gets even higher.

I wonder what is the basis of the various information peddled by finfluencers

Maybe I'm too conservative and hence never seen to be able to escape wage slavery

Before you listen to the finfluencers its important to establish your own basis for investment, like is it for fun or for retirement etc (seeking high growth or income / dividends). Then balance your risk appetite and understanding of the company to invest you are thinking to invest

Usually we invest in a few companies of various sectors to balance out any risk thru diversification (i.e banks vs reits), if this is something you don't have time for most just go with etf.

Only after this then I sometimes hear influencers views on specific companies and approach then compare with my own for improvement.

What is the point of writing this when it’s safer to park inside??

🔑 Should you invest your CPF?

If you have little investment experience, leaving your OA funds to grow at 2.5% might actually be the smarter move. It’s risk-free and frees you from the anxiety of market swings.

Fortunate you Singaporeans who have a strong currency and can grow your money through good dividends.

Until the last six months it was the same in my country.  Today with the horrible uncertainty about the US currency,  the best we can do is to befriend one of the criminals surrounding the president, and play the stock market using the insider information they get from the Criminal in Chief.

Insider trading as the word described, benefit only insiders so by the time you hear something, it's always already too late even for crumbs.

Indeed, the USD had devalued about 10% since TACO took office and with his senseless tariffs, expect some serious inflation in the near future. Coupled with robust that anti immigration policy, tourism business is badly hit and soon the whole hospitality sector will suffer serious negative consequences. And with the Big and Beautiful Bill enforced, brave yourself for something not too pleasant to happen anytime soon.

Few of my friends in LA had already moved some of their funds back to SG for safer investment..

Of course, no decent person will benefit from the inside trading the crooks around Trump can profit from.  It may take as long as a year and a half until after the mid-term elections this disastrous government can be thrown out.  Day by day it seems more possible that this government has an evil purpose to destroy the country.

My hopes for a recovery keep fading.  Other civilizations more advanced than the Americans have been entrapped by fatal dictatorships, like for example, the Germans.  My hope is that with my estate I can survive the 20 year limit of my future existence, even if the living costs double or triple.  At any time I can leave the US and return to my native country Argentina, but for this to be practical, its own economy should recover substantially.

i faced the same issue of some assumed at our mid-career we cannot be on par of Gen z, but i dont think i Lose to them
However alot of prospective employers refuse to believe in it ...

how much can the reskilling and skillsfuture in Sg helped?
the poor lady felt so ashamed of herself and she broke down
More so if one is a mid-career has alot more financial committments at the crossroads
