Let’s go RUNNING

Recommended Posts

There are a few run related threads in BW but they are more location specific.
The purpose of this thread is for run enthusiasts and runner wannabes to post anything under the sun about running.
Share all your juicy encounters (not your dream yeah) and send invitation for others to join you in your run here.

Sounds good! But I can’t run much. Is there a beginner kind of group? Hehehe

Any distance is a good start. If you work at town area like Raffles Place or Tanjung Pagar or She ton Way, you can join Running Department or Urban Milers. Try Google for details.

Thanks for sharing the above.  I just checked the Running Dept and Urban Milers - it seems they are pretty 'long-distance', by my standards.  Do you know of any other similar running clubs which run short distances (eg 2.4km) or jog slowly?

From what I know so far, running groups min distance is 5km.
There is a run group organised by someone from BW, which is also 5-10km distance.
I’m unaware of other leisure run group that does 2.4km.

Just run on your own first if you are worried about the pace and distance. It’s less stressful and enjoyable. When you run in groups, esp new to them, you would tend to wanna catch up with their pace and feel anxious about it. If you already have some base then maybe better. Just sharing my own experience.

Agree! Personally, I prefer running on my own. OTOT (own time own target). Stress free. Lol

You will have to state your speed and distance. There are beginner who can run long but very slow while another type of beginner can run fast but very short distance. For my running group there are very slow runner who join and if you can at least run 5km very slowly than you can join my group.
