New lock system merely added new loops for you to attach your personal locks. As far as i can tell, no one uses it. How many people would bother with the hassle of bringing an extra lock and keys, locking and unlocking two sets of locks each time they want to check their mobile phones? What it does is basically remove their responsibilibity for theft, when they can - as usual - shift the responsibility to patrons: why didn't you bring your own lock?
