Guest Xiao Lien Keh Posted December 30, 2012 Posted December 30, 2012 Quite common, based on your judgement to decide what you want to do. Some old folks can be a genuine case to seek donation with different excuses, but those young uncles or Auntie that look like Ah Beng Ah Lien type you can ignore.
Clickclock Posted December 30, 2012 Posted December 30, 2012 I'll never lend money to anyone even if they are my loved ones or family members, I don't like the idea of my money being somewhere else. Clickclock Posted December 30, 2012 Posted December 30, 2012 You ingrate, if you are still a baby I would have strangled you. Now you are so infelia to me, how can?Haha good point just realized that, did not take my parents into account, well, to put it straight, I just don't like lending my money, but if there's a serious need for it, I guess I'll submit I draw sexy men, visit http://www.toastwire.tumblr.com click on 'My Artworks'. Guest Sister Posted December 30, 2012 Posted December 30, 2012 Haha good point just realized that, did not take my parents into account, well, to put it straight, I just don't like lending my money, but if there's a serious need for it, I guess I'll submitLuckily you are not my siblings, you have no added value to me.
PrivateTongues Posted December 30, 2012 Posted December 30, 2012 HAHAHA... what is infelia? Unfilial? Yeah Ive been asked money multiple times. And strangely its always near a bus stop or traffic lights. My most recent one was indeed very eggciting!Abt 3 months ago, with a friend walking along boat quay near a bus stop at abt 1130pm, one indian man carrying a big plastic bag walked into our path from the right and turned his back to us and held apart his torn trousers exposing his ass. He then asked for money. We were freaked out. I wasnt able to process that and I didnt give him any money. We quickly walked away.My mum drove this idea into my head that - We should all help them if theyre asking for $4 $5 for bus / MRT fare or even a meal. But if theyre asking money to buy a meal, you sld personally go with them to buy a meal. Idunnoe, I feel better if they genuinely are starving and cant afford a meal. Rather using the money I gave them for something else.As for giving them money to take a cab? I dont think Ill give, cab is a luxury. Take the bus lah.TBH, parting with your money is not the easiest thing to do esp for a stranger. If we do help someone, someone might also come to our aid when we're in distress. =)
EasleyLim Posted December 30, 2012 Posted December 30, 2012 Luckily you are not my siblings, you have no added value to me.Added value? You treat the people around you like services ah?
Slynn Posted December 30, 2012 Posted December 30, 2012 I once gave 2 bucks to this woman who claimed that she need to take away food when I was at a hawker centreIn the end after i gave her, she went to another person and said the same things again. GAHARHHAHHH I was just being retarded. So now when people ask me for a loan, I said no. NO FREAKING CHANCE MAN.But if it's someone i know, and it isnt a big sum, then of course it's not an issue. Guest guest Posted March 15, 2013 Posted March 15, 2013 a friend ask if can loan 5k to top up his bank statement to show stupid bank officer in malaysia that there is money in his bank to apply a new condo with installment.will u lend?
ncikmelonpan Posted March 15, 2013 Posted March 15, 2013 Either I won't lend or I will lend but won't expect it back which goes back to how good a friend he is... I can see why this is a predicament for you though. =S
quickflightout Posted March 15, 2013 Posted March 15, 2013 No! It kinda seems like he won't be able to afford/maintain the condo in the long run if he needs money just to show, I mean if he can afford a condo in the first place I'm sure he have the money to show or something right? I donno the working or the proper procedure of applyinng a condo lah but it seems fishy to me.
ohnoyoudidnt Posted March 15, 2013 Posted March 15, 2013 Don't think it's a good idea, unless you are willing to risk parting with your money. Especially since he needs to borrow money to prove that he is able to afford a condo (which, if he needs to borrow in the first place, he probably can't).
abang Posted March 15, 2013 Posted March 15, 2013 I agreed with the fellow forum users above. If he cant afford to show a decent amount in his bank account, he is NOT qualified to buy the property. Personally I had fallen into such "Sweet" talks many times. As a superior, sometimes it is difficult to say NO to your sub-ordinates.B. Ong borrowed SGD 1000 from me and when he resigned, he never mentioned about returning the sum of money.I contacted his brother but nothing worked... SGD 1000 is a relatively small sum to bring it to the tribunals... sigh! So never borrow nor lend.
gstc82 Posted March 15, 2013 Posted March 15, 2013 If he cannot afford 5k, can he afford a condo? On subject of lending money to a friend. Answer is no if you expect it back. Yes you should if you accept it as a gift to him.Of cos, I will want to know why he needs the money. If he wants the money to buy latest Samsung 4, iPads, designer duds, than no. My bf "loaned" 10k to his best friends 8 years ago, and yet to see a cent back.
Guest guest Posted March 15, 2013 Posted March 15, 2013 maybe have to resort to legal Ah Long,.this is the first step to happiness?fast cash.
snowbeef Posted March 15, 2013 Posted March 15, 2013 My ex ask me for $800 cash to be transferred to his account as his father has owe money to loan shares there. He says all his brothers n himself have cough up a few thousands dollars and still short $800. Do u think it is true? I am very skeptical when it comes to ah long case. Would you lend since $800 is not too big a sum but still heart pain if it is for the ah long problem. I prefer to help him if it is for treatment of illness or his education etc. But ah long case due to gambling hmmm
Guest Needmoney Posted March 15, 2013 Posted March 15, 2013 A ex-campmate asked 300 dollars from me claimed it was for his girlfriend birthday chalet surprise.till now he have not return me.
plutofero Posted March 15, 2013 Posted March 15, 2013 If I know my ex's persona well, I would lend but not expecting a return. will just hope he and his family will be fine after the whole ah long agenda. would even advise him to quit home and think for better future if his father is still addicted to gambling. My ex ask me for $800 cash to be transferred to his account as his father has owe money to loan shares there. wolfyboy Posted March 15, 2013 Posted March 15, 2013 suggest u dont lent unless u love him so much u dont mind giving him 5k. if he is really keen to getting a condo he could easy wait for another 3months to save up that 5k on his own.
Guest Guest Posted March 15, 2013 Posted March 15, 2013 who ever ask me for a loan.....I will say Go to DBS, OCBC, or UOB. They are licensed lender, I am not.
