In light of the Manchester Arena Bombing which happened early 6 am this morning in Singapore time during a concert, I feel that fellow PD2017 goers (including myself) should be very mindful and wary of their surroundings.

Pink dot has been having more and more turnouts and I don't think the recent amendments are going to cause a significant impact on this year's turnout. There are many hate filled people around and despite Singapore being "safe", we should always be on the lookout for suspicious people around.

Remain vigilant!

This year only singaporeans can go into pink dot area, area barricaded and all bags will be checked to prevent terrorist so will be the most safest year.

Hong Lim Park to be barricaded for the first time

For the first time, organisers will be putting up barricades at the venue with seven entry and exit points.

There will be a total of 50 security personnel on the ground.

Security officers and volunteers will be checking photo identifications of those entering the event grounds to ensure that only Singaporeans and Permanent Residents are allowed in.

Those without the correct photo identifications will be refused entry.

“After a few rounds of negotiations [and] discussions with the police, they finally accepted one proposal that we made. This is a proposal that we don’t want at all, that we don’t agree with but boh pian [no choice],” said the event’s spokesperson.

Actually this is a good thing. All the foreigners can wear pink and hang around outside the barricade. They can't blame the organisers right? The proposal is accepted by the police and the organisers are just responsible for ensuring those inside the barricade are sinkies. So crever and sneaky hehe ...

I am so happy to see progress like Pink Dot in Singapore. It makes me proud to see that the LGBT community is standing up and take a stand let Singapore know that we exist in the red dot.

It's part of the business plan; to see and be seen, like everyone else.

How will this go down in history? Hong Lim Park barricaded first time ever for LGBT protest. A segregation of diseased harlots from the clean virgins?

"Organisers had to submit three proposals to the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) and they were all rejected. One of their previous proposals only included the setting up of checkpoints but this was rejected because MHA wanted “foolproof preventive measures”."

All I can say is, fark the gahment lah!

Think of it as a celebration. Gay prides held in many countries are LGBT people coming together to show solidarity for one another. Tell the ones out there who are questioning or struggling, they are not alone. Show the world we exist and should be treated with equality and respect. That we are not afraid and want to be part of the Singapore landscape so that we can "build a democratic society, based on justice and equality..." we say the pledge daily when we were in school and I hope that means something more than just the words we parrot.

Love.

Guest WORLD LAUGHING STOCK AGAIN

Singapore government seemed to enjoy being the world's laughing stock, a lot.

Pink dot kana soboed by spf, in turn saboing singapore global image.

Must confirm local support before will even "dare" to legalize gays? Sounds like the kinda lame and feeble ideas ONLY pussies can come out with! The "authorities" so no bite one meh? Hard to believe!

Just need to add this from a different angle:

Instead of feeling victimised by the authorities, I want to thank them for creating so much publicity for the event.

Even election rally don't get so much pre-event media coverage!

When Singaporeans are not REALLY afraid to be in rallies organised by OPPOSITION parties, would they be frightened off by these measures - no way.  Just check the entries into local casinos and jackpot clubs for the answer.  Who cares who is monitoring who ..  用句邓小平爷爷给香港人的话: 马照跑, 舞照跳。。五十年不变。。

This is not wishful thinking because change is the only consistent factor in life!

The government was so staunch about gambling before 2000 and guess what, they need to conform to the pressures of the time..more outlets of betting, more online betting, 2 INTEGRATED resorts all at once...What social issues..blah blah blah..Just empty talks..I reckon after this PINK DOT event, the organisers really need to sell tickets for hosting the event at National Stadium.. 到那时。。 同志嘉年华, 我们同志们都可以先看看小鲜肉的龙舟赛, 参与各种康乐了活动, 再来个庆祝会来结束。。If religious organisations can conduct their conventions, why can't we.. probably first camo as a sports event, an awareness event, then a concert.. think Zhang Hui Mei's Rainbow ...  When it becomes a public event, then anyone who buys a ticket can attend.. do they stop foreigners in church gatherings?  I often wonder whether those guest preachers and foreign lay-ministers and MORMON ELDERS have work-permits or employment pass in Singapore?

If they can arrest illegal workers at Ramadan Market at Geylang Serai, let the immigration officials and the Singapore Police Force enjoy a field day at these religious PARTIES, lah..

In my limited Bahasa,

TANGKAPAN SIAPA?

JANGAN MAIN MAIN DENGAN KAMI KERANA KAMI ORANG KAYA, ORANG PANDAI BUKAN GOBLOK..

Translated:

Arrest who?  Don't play play with us cos' we are rich and clever and not a bunch of fools!

Some conservative netizens have submitted a photograph circulating online of a paid advertisement placed by Pink Dot 2017 organizers.

They claim that the ad con...travenes existing public law on Hong Lim Park because it invites members of the public, who may be foreigners, to the event.

When told that they could potentially be making a mistake and that the law does not prohibit paid advertising for events, they were insistent that the advertisement should be taken down by Cathay Cineleisure.

G_M, I am sure lotsa of people have reported them ... but still they are around.

I think FB is quite liberal on such stuff (which is a good thing actually), as long as no one crosses some line that only Mark Zuckerberg knows.

I also dun wan to click on their page ... so can't report them

How come they are using an American black family as their cover pic?

Just sidetrack abit. Recently a taiwan all-boys school hang up a rainbow flag banner, allowed by school. But the public and parents made so much calls to the school and staff until was forced to be removed. Article quoted a facebook entry which planned this type of coordinated calls "attack". Guess even when gay marriage is legalised, such actions would continue to happen....they would try to make sure gay stuff never be visible in public.

There're now more and more visible, impt gay people e.g. politicians, celebrities, business leaders etc.. For example, when the Prime Minister of Luxembourg visits Singapore, our handsome military reps will have to salute him while getting inspected!

All we need to do, to further LGBT visibility, is to become more important.^_^

Cathay Organisation has issued a statement in support of Pink Dot.

This was after a Pink Dot ad featured on an escalator in Cineleisure mall in Orchard sparked calls to report the matter to the police.

The group calling for police involvement is an anti-Pink Dot group on Facebook, We Are Against Pinkdot.

A Cathay spokesperson told Marketing that Cathay is an entertainment company that has always believed in an all-inclusive society where there is a place for everyone to call home:

“This is and has always been in line with our mission of bringing people together. We hope to inspire people to embrace the values of equality where one can live and love freely.”

Meanwhile ...

Cathay Cineleisure has been asked to remove the subtitle, "Supporting the Freedom to Love", from its Pink Dot 2017 poster following an online controversy over the advertisement.

The Advertising Standards Authority of Singapore (ASAS) weighed in on the recent furor by agreeing that the ad did not contravene the Singapore Code of Advertising Practice (SCAP), but commented that the phrase "Supporting the Freedom to Love" was not in line with SCAP's general guidelines.

The guidelines specifically emphasize under Section 10.1 of its "Family Values" code that advertisements cannot "downplay the importance of the family as a unit and foundation of society.” ASAS also warned that advertisers should bear in mind the shared values of Singapore's society, which emphasize “family as the basic unit of society”, “community support and respect for the individual”; and “consensus, not conflict”.

The council has since requested for Cathay to remove the phrase “Supporting the freedom to love” and will be checking for its compliance

Freedom to love can be the opposite sex what. Never state its same sex or what. What's wrong with the words. Unless, they are paranoid in insisting their disagreement with homosexuals. Hmm...More like it.

Why can't others choices at least be accepted? If there's acceptance, supporting it or not won't be a problem.

Discriminating against same sex orientation in this modern age of science is so.... backwards, and almost unbelievable for an advanced economy like singapore!

Does the slogan "supporting the freedom to love" contradict "family as the basic unit of society" ?  Come on.

Don't you parents love your sons and daughters even if they are gay ?  Or you parents will disown them and chase them out of your household ?

Don't read and response to guests' post

Many ajs end up as the ones taking care of their aging parents while the married straight children disappeared into thin air.

Hey guys, instead of discussing on who can attend this event, I would like to know if anyone might be interested coming together for a night of just 100% worship. Regardless of your age, your background, your church, your personality. There is no official or unoffical organization, church, company behind or related to this. No agenda or motive, just coming together to worship. A venue filled by you guys, a small band with a list of 10-15 of hillsong songs. I reckon on a Saturday night would be good. Let me know what you guys think!

Cheers!!!

"Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the Lord," - Acts 3:19

Is this still on? I realize that it would be better to go in this event after I got sick and having some sort of awakening.

Yup.  To all parents out there:

Count yourselves lucky if you have a gay son or daughter.  They are likely the ones who will prepare your medication and bring you for medical appointment.   They will row your wheelchair.   Accept and support them for who they are, not what you think they become.

[im not shooting u im quoting the article]

Straight people are able to procreate all the time and sometimes their children are aborted or abandoned to be orphans. Since they mentioned the topic of family, I don't see how straight people are stopped from making babies due to the fact that a portion of them do not have families / are abandoned/have broken families.

While we may not see a gay or lesbian couple walking children in nature, they could have a chance to adopt children and take care of them, give them the family that they didn't have. Family doesn't mean make-a-baby, that's not what it is. It's more than just being able to biologically produce a baby or adopting one so I urge these "pro family" or "pro religion" people to stop comparing families to the freedom to love. Gay people probably make better parents than straights do anyway.

Thousands of S’poreans turn gay after walking into Cineleisure

Posted on 09 June 2017

It is irreversible.

cineleisure-gay

Thousands of Singaporeans from all walks of life, who are easily influenced by things around them, have turned irreversibly gay.

This after these Singaporeans walked into Cathay Cineleisure in Orchard and saw the Pink Dot advertisement on the escalator with a slogan that read, “Supporting The Freedom To Love”.

One Singaporean who turned gay, Tong Xing Lian, said: “I was straight when I was outside Cineleisure. But the moment I walked in, I want to have sex with people of the same gender.”

“I would not have turned gay had I not read that I have the freedom to love.”

Other locals said a gay advertisement in public is a very powerful thing.

Another local, Lai Zuo Ai, said: “Whole year round I see heterosexual advertisements showing men using some product and becoming virile and women using some product and becoming sex object, but the reality is that straight men and women are all still so meh and not arousing no matter what they are exposed to.”

“But the moment heterosexual people see gay advertisement, all will become rapacious homosexuals.”

“Can scientists come out and explain this?”

Guest Church is medieval prison

Those Christians probably turned to God to suppress their own homosexual tendencies and failed, so tried to suppress others', thinking it will help suppress their own.

So many closeted homosexuals in churches married to the opposite sex, it's chilling.

Just look at their strange eyes and mannerisms, so suppressed. It's sad.

Guest Church is medieval poison

Those Christians who complained to authorities are the most repressed homosexuals. No amount of talking sense to them will help. They need to be liberated by the oppressive system or at least, self liberate. No one can help them. At the moment.
