Alan35sg Posted January 10, 2012 Posted January 10, 2012 Thanks Guest for posting and sharing this song. Music, as they say is universal that can pass all barriers of langguage. Thanks also to those who have taken the time to explain and translate the meaning of this song. I can now listen, understand and relate to this beautiful song.... Another one of my favourite Chinese song that I can relate is A-Mei 'Wo Yao Kuai Le (I Want Happiness)' and Karen Mok 'Ta Bu Ai Wo'.... Quote

daydreamingfish Posted February 12, 2012 Posted February 12, 2012 Any Jason Mraz song -especially "Make It Mine". Because a straight guy I had a crush on liked his songs and that particular song was his favourite. I loved listening to Jason Mraz too, but it was because of him, I avoided listening to Jason Mraz up 'til this day. Quote

crazyfreak Posted February 14, 2012 Posted February 14, 2012 typically songs dependant on the rhythm and the key will spark up some emotions within people next will come lyrics then the most important of all is emotional steadiness and expeirience a person has with relation to that song... oxymorons Posted February 15, 2012 Posted February 15, 2012 (edited) I wrote this on another topic a while ago...every time i listen to "you and I" by lady gaga, I think about this one guy I dated (who can be considered an ex in my head)it's not so much a sad remembrance, on the contrary, i get a happy and warm feeling inside my heart. he was a great guy, he had the body, he had a car, he had a pretty stable and solid job, he's what most would consider "the perfect boyfriend" and most of all, he loves me a lot. however, even with all that, i couldn't love him and reciprocate the love back because (and you are going to hate me for saying this) of his face. he is handsome, but he's just not my type of handsome. and throughout the whole relationship, i was convincing myself that i can love him the way he loves me back. but it was not possible, you can't force yourself to love someone because that's not love. of course, we broke up (over a different matter) and I was able to mend the relationship, but after thinking about it, i chose not to. and till now, i never wanted to get him back.in the "you and i" video, Gaga was a mermaid in a scene and she explained it:A part of the metaphor of this scene is that you can't have sex with a mermaid. Sometimes, in love, you just can't make it work. No matter what you do, there's this giant boundary between you and someone else.So that's what it's all about; perceiving there's something magical inside of you, that you can make it work.and so every time i listen to "you and i", which is a song about attempting to get back your lost love, I think about that quote. I think about what could have been. I think about what it would be like if we had remained together. If i was able to love him. If things worked out in the end. if i had chose to go back and love him...and it's all imaginary but it's so beautiful in my mind. (: Edited February 15, 2012 by swag Quote
