Interesting dramatisation about Gay life in Taiwan (in the 1970's) I think although the drama was made in 2003.

 

20 episodes but I think episode 19 and 20 have not been subtitled and therefore not released on Youtube. Worth a watch.

The series has become well known for its groundbreaking treatment of LGBT characters, presenting bisexuality and homosexuality as normal, and homosexual relationships as equal to heterosexual relationships on the show. For this reason, it has become popular with gay and lesbian audiences in Europe and the United States. Ever on the cutting edge, the series has tackled controversial issues such as drug addiction, murder, rape, suicide, adultery, homophobia, incest, alcoholism, drug abuse, schizophrenia, HIV, miscarriage, kidnapping, and sexual confusion.

 

Verbotene Liebe received international attention in 2008 with the love story of Christian Mann and Oliver Sabel. The gay couple was featured in a story in the British magazine reFRESH and in an article in the 23 September issue of Soap Opera Weekly. Since then, the show has developed a large following elsewhere in Europe and beyond. The relationship between Oliver and Christian unfolds as a love story of two people who happen to be gay, rather than one of gay caricatures trying to play house, as is often the case. The ups and downs of the couple's relationship play out over five years to the couple's engagement and wedding, and continue on.

I've been watching this in youtube , Christian is "new" in this soap but Oliver has been there and back.

That's why DOOL (Days of Our Lives) also has its gay characters too now.

I didn't know someone here in BW is  a fan too. Ok I won't be a spoiler, this show is addictive.

 

This started with an incestuous relationship between twin siblings :-) that's why the title is Verboten Liebe. Thanks Nash!
