The pool wasn’t crowded. Most probably due to the weather which was too conducive to sleep. Had my Saturday day in peace until a splasher came in and swam 2 lanes away from me. So, by 9:00pm, everyone must get out of the pool. 9:00-9:30pm is for showering and changing. By 9:30pm they will lock the gate. So, that matches with what you just described. Quote

I was quite surprised actually. I saw google listing closing time at 9.45pm, so imagined they would get people out of the pool at 9.30pm. Luckily I already had my swim by then. Quote

Just that they kids are occupying them. Not sure if the swimming instructors book the lanes or not. I have not seen any kuai lan swimmer who swims in those lanes despite the kids there. That would be interesting to watch. Oh.. wait. I think at KBSC, I have the following: A guy was swimming in one of the lanes near the grandstand. Later, the Russian kids swim group came and they just went in and occupied the same lane. The coach and the lifeguard did not say anything. The guy swimmer did not make way for the kids. Both parties did not want to give way. Bang! The big guy knocked the damn kid off course and almost swam over her. Lifeguard got panic and asked the guy to switch to another lane. But to my horror when I arrived, saw hordes of school kids screaming & running around the whole place, occupying the entire training pool & part of the competition pool. The auntie staff at the entrance told me this is due to the resumption of the MOE swim lessons or whatsoever & this will continue every day (except public/school holiday) until year end. They will also "take over" the place after 2pm. So only choice is to swim during lunch hour or at night. The noteworthy one was the very fit guy in navy trunks. He could swim freestyle fast and nonstop. After swimming he changed into a PUMP undies.. ooh When I was changing there was another small tanned dude who had just arrived. He changed into a small thin bright blue trunks.
