I just came back from Beijing a few days ago. Went to two straight massage joints for massage. One of them, the therapist told me he is 30 years old. The other one I didn't ask, but quite sure he is below 40 too.

Not sure if you’re just sounding passive aggressive, or it’s just the nature of online-forum (words simply don’t communicate emotions well), I’m just gonna give you the benefit of doubt. Here in China, we we use APPs like “Da Zhong Dian Ping” or “Meituan” for businesses to advertise themselves. A simple research on those APPs would definitely help you find your way (and in your case, finding younger masseurs under the age of 40). I'm in Beijing and out of the 3 only one responded and after trying out that one guy, feels there's market for more to try but no where to reach out to as I don't want to go to a spa parlour to find one suitable, Nathan to find one operates on his own.

Sounds interesting! Thanks for the great info. I saw that the ticket costs about 80 RMB and comes with a free drink. Just to confirm, do we need to bring our ID card for verification purposes?

Not too sure about your age. At least for me who is an uncle, no ID card is required. If you have driving licence, suggest that you can consider bringing it along. Sometimes there are security checks at MRT stations and I just produce the driving license for their checks as I usually do not bring passports.

 

Also, if you are visiting the hot spring, some may require passport for verification especially if you are entering late at night. Passport is mandatory to stay overnight.

bumping this! anyone knows the chinese search term for traditional public bathhouses then i can just scroll and look on amap or xhs haha

 

googling got me results like “洗浴中心” and “澡堂”. but xhs has too many reviews for the modern spa type not the traditional kind that op is referring to
