Kallang Basin Swimming Pool

Due to the hijack of this pool for the ex-TPY users, I have little opportunity to swim here. 
I managed to get my afternoon swim today (2Aug). 
I was shocked by the state of the men’s shower room. My favour cubicle is sooooo filthy. Dark mould covers so much of the tiles, as if the floor and the walls have not been washed for ages. The shampoo and bath organiser is broken. It is in such sorry state, really. 
Only the big pool is operating. Thus, all the lanes are occupied. I’m happy that I managed to get a lane.

A couple of weeks ago, I resumed swimming at KB pool. Somehow, it feels easier to swim here compared to my regular haunt at SAFRA Tampines. Have to agree with @bluerunner on the sad state of the shower room. Not sure why nothing has been done to spruce it up with the increased crowd now that TPY pool has closed.

 

Speaking of increased crowd, I took a photo of the pool availability schedule (this was in July) and concluded that:

1) if you wish to swim on weekdays, do it before 5pm;

2) if you wish to swim on Saturday, do it between 2 and 7pm;

3) if you wish to swim on Sunday, do it after 5pm.

This is because of the Pacer and Aegir programmes that take up half of the competition pool (I believe it's the half closer to the PIE cuz of the swim lanes).

Quite a nice place to cruise except for the time being all the swimming class uses the deep pool as the medium and small pool under renovation. Today quite a nice day.

Today is Hari Raya (31 Mar).

I thought the pool will not be so busy if i go after just after lunch hour but I was wrong.

Almost every lane was taken up but luckily, I found an empty lane just after 5min.

 

No Hari Raya colours of  swimwear. Instead, white colour swimwear took center stage. I have counted at least 4 guys were in white. Half way swimming, I saw an EGDE rainbow swimwear in the water. 

 

In the shower room, it was quite. 1-2 guys were "looking around" and waiting for the other party to initiate. Yawn.....boring.💤 Waiting for the durian to drop will be faster.😄

 

I guess the most important thing was that I had my swim, All good and peaceful until the last 200m, when a "whale" jumped in. Some turbulance and washing machine effect. 

No idea why someone going to swim need to spray so much perfume. I could smell someone's perfume even in the water. Gosh. Maybe he has BO and need the strong perfume to mask it out.

I was there this afternoon. Maybe I was earlier , only saw 1 guy in white trunk swimming , the other guy in white trunk sunbathing. At the shower room saw a few guys exchanging looks, but we didn't initiate. Initially it was only me in the whole shower room, then came a guy who noticed me in white underwear , then we exchange looks and he undress to let me see his bulge

They lay on their towel, from what I have seen. 
That may not be the most comfortable but given the fact that most pools have removed the sun decks, that’s one of the options. 
Furthermore, they are lying behind the area where the lifeguards are sitting. Can wear sexy swimwear and pull the swimwear lower without being seen by the lifeguard.

TMC can tan either naked or in skimpy. Over there you can tanned at peace of mine. Is great to have such place for people like us to tan without any problem. Tmc is my favorite sauna I regularly there plus I work out in my skimpy undies.

Super hot day but still can find lanes to swim today.

 

A couple of observations:

1. White13 was there tanning by the side of the pool.😍

2. Chubby (teddy) bear w army crewcut in blue swimwear (or was that an underwear?!). He is thick, ykik. 🤩

3. Tan uncle in skimpy white swimwear w blue polka dots. Almost half of his butt cheeks were exposed. 🤭

4. Cruiser uncle in bright red swimwear with white panels (that's either an EGDE or Aqux) was cruising beside the pool and in the shower room.🙈

5. Funky trunks young chap who was in the water for barely 15min?! That's fast. 😁

6. Last but not least, a good uncle swimmer who swam in all 4 strokes occupying the middle lane.👏💪

I rarely go for a swim at this pool on weekends since the closure of TPY pool for renovation. However, after the heavy rain yesterday’s late afternoon, I went. 
I made the right decision as there wasn’t too many people when I arrived but the crowded started to rush in near 7:30pm. 
Several ‘interesting’ (if you get what I meant by that) characters:

- 2 guys in grey trunks. One w a tie on the swimwear, another was an extreme low waist one; so low that his dick also couldn’t contain inside. 
- 1 White swimwear checking out the pool and the shower room, undecided where he should be. I bet that piece will turn translucent/transparent when it gets wet. 
 

One of the polo guys left his Turbo trunks in the shower room. Looks like a L or XL size to me.

Heavy rain never go, but several times I saw a Japanese look boy with Japanese ah beng hairdo type wiping himself for more than 20 mins interesting too.

 

Will go back Jalan Besar since renovation finishing.

Just finished my swim. Waited for 15min for a lane. 
Swam through the rain. Just 3 swimmers including me were in the water during the rain. Barely 10min after I got out of water, I heard the lightning advisory activated. 
Heng ah. 
 

I realised I have forgotten my shower kit! Dang!!

Luckily, I brought my towel and of course, my goggles.

Date: 12 May (also Vesak Day, public holiday)

 

I was there late morning and the pool was rather crowded. 

 

Good things:

1. Swimmers keep a look out of where others were going and tried to accommodate. Kudos to the lady and the guy in black swimwear (or was that an underwear?). At times, I was unsure if you wanted to swim in a circle or you just wanted to keep to your own lane. Anyway, we did a good job for not bumping into each other. 🤪

 

Bad things:

1. To that mature couple whom the wife squeezed herself into the same lane as the other lady swimmer despite that lane was taken. Not enough, that husband must moved from one lane to another, just to be nearer to his wife despite the lane already have 2 other swimmers there. After squeezing themselves into the lanes, they were not swimming laps like the rest of the swimmers there but chose to be a statue at the end of the pool!🤬

 

2. To that aunty who swam backstroke zigzagging, taking up 2-3lanes. Can do that when the pool is less crowded next time?

 

3. Another female swimmer who swam breadthwise, cutting across the pool at the 1.8m part then cannot decide to swim in lane 1 or lane 2 or lane3?

 

4. That 2 (Indian) chaps who just jumped in without checking the lanes situation. Everyone avoided them like a plague and causing so much splashes as one of them swam. Thank God, they disappeared barely 5min later. I saw the lifeguard almost blew whistle looking at aunty #2, aunty #3, and these 2 chaps creating chaos in the water all at the same time.

 

Kinda bumped into someone I "know" (cannot say I know him as a friend, more like an acquaintance at the pool). Of course, he has chosen not to recognize/see me and even went behind the toilet cube to change. (well....not that he has anything that I have not seen, roll eyes 🫢) Oh well ..... what's new.

 

Warm day but not a super hot sunny day.

Think I saw someone wearing an obviously underwear to swim. He thought nobody can tell just because it's black. Plus, its loose(doesn't hold the butt like a new undies) making it more obvious.
