23 May Friday. 
Shower room had a lot of cruising going in even though there were only 4-5ppl inside.

It’s been a while I had visited this pool. Went there during noon today. The pool is not too crowded and each person gets to swim in their own lane (no sharing needed). There’s even a guy lying at the side of the pool enjoying a tan 😁

If there is any kids swimming lesson, the remaining public space will be further segregated. End up, you barely swim like 10m. Totally useless.

Lots of excuse. 
Chopped and confirmed you are not a swimmer. Swimmers will know that during rain or just after rain, the water in the pool is not cold at all. It’s slightly warmer than normal days.

Yes, esp out at sea and the beach when it rains (and if there’s no lightning and the lifeguards aren’t so vigilant), you submerge in the sea water to keep warm from the cold winds.

I was at the pool at the same time as last week. What a stark contrast. Last week, it was busy. Today it’s almost no crowd. 
Had a good swim w so little people around. Really relax and no pressure. The sun wasn’t as strong while I was swimming. 
An early uncle was cruising in the toilet. Stayed there just to wait for the last person to come out of shower. He, himself was hiding here and there still towelling dry and putting on his underwear. I almost wanted to say out loudly, ‘No need to hide la. I saw what you were doing just now.’ 

Think again, why bother. At my age, I take that as a compliment! 🥂

I grew up cruising at these swimming pools, including BV, RV, YCK - they hold a special place in my heart because these places were somewhat safe and reliable way to find guys. You see what you get. Unlike internet meets, usually the real person and the picture they sent are 2 different person's altogether....

 

How does a 14yo learn about gay sex without internet? The scrawled mobile / home number on the wall was the only way to leave one's number for your "friend". I remember wanking to one of the stories written on the partition walls of YCK pool.

 

I used to see several regulars at BV pool - one I got reacquainted recently, about 20yrs later. Another, a Caucasian banker, who grew up in Sg and he spoke better singlish than I did. I wonder how our their lives changed after the pools closed. I know mine went south after I stopped swimming.

 

And what were the pools replaced by? I stood on top of a stairs in Holland V, because that picture triggered something in my memory. Took me a while, before I realized that was the exact spot that overlooked BV pool, where I'd survey the meat rack, before deciding to go swimming or not.

Definitely much better view those days than that monstrosity some half-wit built on top of Holland V.

RV pool became some kind gallery and cafe - I rarely see any human traffic there.

It wouldn't surprise me if kallang got filled in and left to grow weeds.

 

I suppose the swimming pool chapter of my colorful gay life is on its last legs....

I think Katong is quite well-utilised. There isn't another pool nearby, and they recently did up a long of thing, including the gym, which is once again very well utilised.
