Guest guest Posted March 11, 2014 Posted March 11, 2014 I don't think they will turn down based on your color. Koreans are not one of the most racist asians. I think you misunderstood Korean culture. X-boy is currently closed due to recent police investigation. I'm not sure when they will be back. A lot of massage shops have been reported in the news negatively in Korea recently so be careful when you visit these shops. I wonder anyone has visited these massage shops safely after last February and I would like to know your experience. Thanks. I'm planning to used Xboy. I'm black and just wondering if they would turn me down because of my color. I heard that Koreans are one of the most racist Asians who tends to like only white western appearance. Could someone give me some advice. Quote
Guest Curious Posted March 14, 2014 Posted March 14, 2014 So anyone of you guys were able to visit gay massage shops in Seoul recently? Was it safe to go there? Were they cautious dealing with you? Most of all those who are temporarily in Korea, did you get phone calls from the police recently for visiting these shops? I read at ivancity.com someone( a Korean) had to go to a police station since he got a call from the police. What happens to a foreigner if he gets arrested for this in Korea? Quote
Guest Intrigued Posted March 16, 2014 Posted March 16, 2014 Is it only risky to visit massage shops or is it gay spas too? What are the repercussions and why has there been investigation? I was planning a trip to Korea and intended to visit both lol... Quote
Afterwork Posted March 19, 2014 Posted March 19, 2014 hvn't been for a while but u can try mun hwa at jongno if u are into mature dudes - altho the quality is somewhat dubious, dpending on your luck.as long as u r in jongno area, drop into shortbus (the bar) - not the movie.it's not a pick-up joint, altho folks are pretty friendly in general.hv fun. chineseguy80 1 Quote

Guest guest Posted March 20, 2014 Posted March 20, 2014 I think gay spas are fine.. Gay massage shops X-boy, Coolguy, Ramses are currently shut down. Giseng was briefly shut down for a couple of weeks but they reopened in Itaewon as the Park. It all started last fall and there were series of news reports and investigations. Let me know how it goes if you visit these shops. I have only read some people were asked to come to the police station but they were all Koreans. So I don't think they don't necessary target foreigners for investigations. Is it only risky to visit massage shops or is it gay spas too? tookidooki Posted May 12, 2014 Posted May 12, 2014 In case you are not aware, most Koreans use Jack'd more than Grindr. Easier for travellers to meet up since you have a hotel room to play. No need to spend $$ on the rent boys Enjoy Korea. Quote

Guest Guest Posted May 17, 2014 Posted May 17, 2014 With regard to this point, I agree Koreans are not that racist or language-centric.Agree but I think Koreans are very class concious/divided. I think having a class strata is as bad as racism. Up to now, I still think they can speak English better than Japanese people.Agree and I think that is cos historically more Koreans have been exposed to Americans. Japanese people are much more closed up than the rest of Asia.Agree and I think that is because Japan Inc. has been successful in the past and therefore the Japanese people, in general, did not have to trade with the rest of the world. That is no longer the case and modern Japan is now forced to trade with the rest of the world. To the Japanese, Koreans are Asians, Japanese aren't.What do the Japanese thnk that they are then? Surely they dont regard themselves as Westerners? I too think that the Japanese are not like the rest of Asia. How they behave and how they think are different. I think homosexuals have more 'freedom' in Japan than in Korea. In Japan (at least) the people and the authorities turn a blind eye to homosexual activity. In Korea, I think it is actively clamped down on still. Quote

Hmm.. does this mean that you are going to date a Korean, Darkflame-san? Actually there are exceptions to the norm. 3 of my ex colleagues are married to non Japanese. Having said that, I think I am not quoting a typical situation. Japanese who work for foreign companies are already open to foreigners and so would be less shy to the idea of marrying one. I wonder if there are many/any mixed marriages in Korea. Quote

Until almost half a century ago, Singapore wasn't culturally and socially an 'island'.There is a bit of island mentality now though. I don't think I'll be dating a Korean.Maybe a Korean American will be okay. As you mentioned, Japanese in foreign companies are much more open.According to my knowledge, mixed marriages are rarer in Korea than Japan. Back to Korea, I will probably consider a trip to Korea since it's near Japan.Hopefully can see the gay scene around. And definitely not go into a situation where I need to speak Japanese as a language to communicate there. Guest ian Posted June 26, 2014 Posted June 26, 2014 Had a short stopover in Seoul recently. Visited 2 places, and this was my experience 1. Hamilton Sauna. Went in the early evening on a Sat. Not crowded, but a couple of hunky black americans (drool!) were leaving as I arrived. Crowd mostly middle aged and elderly guys who sat around the tv area totally naked, some with small towel draped over. A few guys younger than 40 were milling around, no muscular or toned guys. The highlight for me was the 2 masseurs in their 30s who were fit and quite muscular. Totally naked while they were cleaning the backscrub and massage area. I quickly asked the cuter one to give me a backscrub and massage for KRW50,000. He worked on me right away. The other worker also had a client shortly after I started, but this guy put on a pair of briefs. No hanky panky, and when I asked my masseur, he told me he is Chinese (Soong Shifu). Turns out both the workers are from Mainland China, and they became friendly and chatty once they found out I am from Singapore. Upstairs, the descriptions from other readers are correct. Some bj going on but they would pause and pretend nothing is happening when someone comes up. I left Hamilton immediately after my massage. 2. MunHwa Before taking a cab to Munhwa, I walked over to Hyundae Sauna. Was puzzled to see scantily clad girls in high heels around the reception area. Made a very fast U-turn and scooted off immediately to Munhwa. Munhwa.. very dingy and old. Crowd 95% elderly but saw a handful of young guys. One cute bear (late 20s) was washing and cleaning himself in the bath area when I arrived. He was done. his dickhead was swollen and red and still half rigid and he had a happy look. I was too late LOL No facility etc. Just a few elderly guys lounging naked in the tv area outside the bath area. Upstairs was just a pitch dark sleeping cavern divided into 5 or 6 segments. All dark except the entrance area. Very low ceiling. I stayed quite a few hours. Lots of people coming in to lie next to you to check out your package, some will give you a good bj. some come to ask for bj, and I was approached by a smallish young guy with a humongous dick ( at least 7 inches & thick). Had some fun, and I left to wash up after he came in my hands.. when I returned he had gone. Lots of activities going on but too dark to see much. Saw a few penetrations though in the less dark area and they were done raw. One guy got me raging hard with his excellent bj and then tried to sit bareback on me. I lifted him off and he got up and left. Another one immediately swooped in to continue the bj.. There were a few younger stocky korean men but these guys knew they were in demand and were pretty choosy. Overall, it was an interesting experience but I am unlikely to go back again. That's how I spent my one free evening in Seoul. Quote

joshTWjosh Posted July 3, 2014 Posted July 3, 2014 Will be in Seoul til August 2nd week. So far from my observations, homosexual activity is clamped down here, and frowned upon. Porn websites are blocked, gay massages have constant raids and there's no truly "out" gay sauna. The public pools are expensive too sigh. Haha. Quote

Guest Slash Posted July 28, 2014 Posted July 28, 2014 When i was in Seoul 2 years ago, ive managed to visit almost all the sauna mentioned in Utopia. What i can say from my experience is that they are a lol bit choosy especially when it comes to guys with darker skin colour. Black people are fine but to south asians like malaysia and indonesia, they tend to brush it off. It was hurt but i do manage to enjoy my time in Korea visiting all these places. Quote

Leonblowing Posted September 12, 2014 Posted September 12, 2014 I was there last month while I was travelling to Korea with my friends. Place is quite easy to find, not very far from Itaewon subway station. Although it is located on a relatively quiet side street, it has a big signboard outside the building it is in. DAVID is at the basement, so the place is not very big, just one floor. When I was there, there were not many customers around, at most 10 if I was not wrong. But it was easier to get laid. There were some who were sleeping overnight too, but also open to fun. There's a big TV room with a vending machine. Alas, the place allows smoking, so I didn't stay very long in the room. There were many different types of rooms, some with double deck beds, some with tatami mats, there's also a bondage sling as well. By and large the Koreans I met there were btm, very few tops. There were a couple of foreigners there too, including a Caucasian I met entering DAVID while I was leaving Quote
