agree totally! wat era r we in?

sometimes when I said some penises seemed to be blackish : it means the skin appeared darker than normal, it has nothing to associate to slaves or whatever racist issues

dont come now and say this is what you meant and all that shit..go back to the other previous statements you have made in this thread and the others and it will be obvious what u actually meant and its all with a negative slant..a lot of racist undertones statements made...but its your choice to be that!!

You forgot that this board is not just for Singaporians but open to the whole world. Isn't it quite naive to pass judgement on a country by reading just a few posts.

True, but it certainly isn't a pretty picture from what's being seen here so far overall on BW.

let's look at this from a different aspect: (indulge my superficial fantasies here)

imagine if you have a 'porn machine' that can produce any type of porn you want. now imagine if you can pick the performers. let's say you just want to watch 2 men fucking. what kind of guys would be your first choice?

would you pick a malay guy fucking another malay guy? a caucasian fucking another caucasian? an indian fucking another indian? a chinese fucking a chinese? an african american fucking an african american?

or perhaps you'd want to mix and match... maybe a malay with an indian guy or an african american guy with a chinese? or maybe even a japanese guy with a korean. so many combinations!

lets say you pick a caucasian with an indian. within this range there are so many variations too. the caucasian may be a handsome redhead or blue eyed blonde. and the indian guy may be also the fairer indians you see in bollywood movies or a handsome dark skinned one.

ON A PURELY SUPERFICIAL LEVEL be honest with yourselves who would be your fantasy choices.

all i'm saying here is that superficially everyone will lean towards something they prefer and there is nothing wrong with that.

I don't think some of us have issues with choices even though some of the commentators here explained why there are preferences. I think the main issue some of us had was the choice of words used to describe, racist slants couched as preferences, discrimination based on race. You for an example felt it was not wrong to describe a person by his skin color..that black Indian guy or that yellow Chinese girl which I think is not acceptable in this day and age...

I never described Indians as black. Pls quote where I did. It’s you who are so easily triggered when someone described a Chinese guy as blackish. Not even your race yet so sensitive. Are you so very dark skinned and when someone says the word “black” you feel as if it’s an affront to you? You did mention that some African Americans (who describe themselves as black btw) are fairer than you.

Don’t project your insecurities or whatever on other people. It’s not a good look.

I'm Chinese and I also prefer Chinese, however recently i come to be more open to other races for relationship. I think maybe it's because I grow up with majority Chinese people around me. That's why i tend to be attracted to them more. But once I stepped out of the comfort zone, I can be fond of other races as well :)

Don't worry I am not the least triggered about anything u say or said. Infact u just prove some of the things that we are saying is wrong with our society. That's all.

You obviously don't understand nor follow the discussion here and have gone all antagonistic. Someone said why is it ok to call African American as blacks and I was making a point that it has nothing to do with skin color but race example Mariah Carey consider herself as being black and yes she is fairer than some of us meaning us Singaporean..and yes I may not like being called black nor would like it if u were to call other Indians black! You don't see anything wrong in calling a dark Indian as black? I feel sorry for u that u can't be sensitive to another person's feelings. This is not going anywhere since u feel it's right to describe dark skin tones of Chinese or Indian or Malay as blackish..so it will end here.

Like i said. Pls quote where I called Indians or you “black”?

Sometimes I will go to the beach and get a tan and come back to work the next day and all my colleagues will say to me “wah you went swimming ah, so black!” Even my dear Indian colleagues will say that and sometimes they will put their arms against mine and compare compare and we all have a good laugh about it. They are so comfortable and confident in their own skin, they don’t give 2 fucks about it.

It’s a colour. It will only have a negative connotation if you give it one. Release yourself from the prison of your own mind.

Guest Some are just blind

how do we educate the kids in  a simplified manner about Indians? nt dark skin tone, not black? pink, green or silver?

what is wrong with being dark, black or blackish ! be proud of your own origin

u may learn from Michael Jackson to bleach himself white

Some are being called as bananas, so be it, treat it as a humour, laugh it off

What is wrong with black? many renovated their house ID black tone, many purchases car that are black, it is so good

many just couldn't accept their origins and couldn't accept that they are being refer as black or dark

and come here to kick such a fuss (u r who u r no matter how you are being treated, you are who you are, no point discussing about facts and colours you cannot change it white)

eg when educating the kids , we will tell them this flower is called xxx and they have pinkish tone

the other type is yyy, they have a much redder tone

the flowers and plants continue to flourish as they are supposed to be without being worried of being labelled of diff colours

ok to start off: I think honestly Singapore is a very racist place. The race factor is immanent in so many occasions.

To the French guy: I think freedom of speech is more developped in France and personal freedoms anyway. even despite "political correctness" in Europe and North America you can still write what you think and you can say the same. ok, you might face a "shitstorm"; however; you're not crippled as in this region here to express yourself on certain topics.

Racism has something more to do with one group feeling superiour to another. why can't  we see all human beings as the same?

In Singapore I fear that it depends a lot on education of kids and giving the proper outset to them. Once you as a parent start to instill negative features to people from different origins, then you just perpetuate the racist sentiment.

Those who wrote about Chinese and smooth silky skin and such other features; what a bullshit: In China you already have so many different chinese people with different looks and features, skin shades etc (and I m not talking about Tibetan, Mongolian or the Quashqai). Please open your eyes.

I have experienced dark skinned South East Asians (Non chinese) with smooth silky skins and even their dicks that smooth...

This Chinese only into Chinese preference is maybe a reflex to that (wrongly instilled) appreciation of White guys. Maybe it's even related to that education and precaution set by their parents not to leave it's "Singaporean" comfort zone.

Even in nowadays China I see a lot of interest in dating White guys.

I personally don't have an issue to call it white, black or yellow because all other expressions are euphemisms ( here we go back to political correctness).

What disturbs me in Singapore (same in Malaysia) guys put dislikes so bluntly on races. No this, no that.

And is there seriously no Chinese guy who would say that some other Chinese fellow has a bad smell?

If Chinese are only attracted to Chinese so let it be... a gay Eskimo might be attracted to another Eskimo, that might be natural. But guys should not display race related dislikes if in fact they never tasted any other...

Well written just like some other members previously on this thread with well thought opinions on preferences vs discrimination and why there is a need to be sensitive but alas it's wasted here but never mind..one person at a time I guess..

Reminds me of my friend who hired an indian receptionist but had to sack her after she refused to serve indians of 'lower caste' than herself as she felt it was beneath her.

You can't measure which race is more racist, Indian vs Chinese or vs any other race.  50 shades of grey.

But there is a major difference which you forgot in your statement: Indians might discriminate people from their own race while Chinese discriminate people from other races.

It doesn't have to be one worse than the other. Wrong is wrong.

But perhaps before any other races complain that “Chinese guys don’t want ONS or LTR with me” they should ask themselves if they would do the same with those they consider “lower castes”. Not saying they are lower than Chinese or any other races.

Which brings us back to the topic “why Chinese prefer Chinese.” LOLOLOL

I'm not a Chinese fella but I'm very much a local and has never seen anyone by race - whether it comes to dating or even making friends.

I used to date Malay guys exclusively because they'd usually be the only ones who'd strike up conversations with me.

After a very bad, and abusive experience with my druggy ex who is malay, I was pretty much done with relationships.

A year later I started dating this Chinese boy who was probably the only Chinese who took the first step to talk to me on an app. The other Chinese boys I tried to hit up ignored my messages - probably because my profile pic gave away that I'm not Chinese (my features are very sharp, and i'm a little tanned). We became monogamous until something unexpected happened.

I've tried to get back into the dating scene and realised that Chinese guys exclusively date other Chinese guys only. Am i just unlucky or is this what it has come to?

P.S. i'm not pointing any fingers, implicating racism etc.

I'm just curious for an insight. Do let me know if you're a Chinese who is together with a non-Chinese.

Singaporean academia should research this.  Any grants available?

I didn't think much about being smooth and fair since there are plenty here.

Then when I went to Bangkok, I was surprised that in TV they practically idolized fair skin actors and models. Then I even got molested by supposed straight tuk-tuk drivers.

Then at saunas, they practically told me they love my fair skin.

Only then I began to value my fair skin. Hence my preference for Chinese.

Sure the are those who prefer dark meat for manliness, to each his own. I'm confident in my own manliness to have to need that aspect.

I'm Chinese and love Chinese guys.  But I find other races guys attractive as well.  As for Malays, I tend to say no, unless I see those with certain features that I like.   On the other hand, if those Chinese guys who 'Hi' me up, don't have features I like, then I'd not continue the chat.

If need to sum it up, generally I browse the Chinese guys and then filter down the demographic to those segment who have features I like and am looking for.

So it kinda throws me off when chats happen with guys who I thought were Chinese guy turn out to be Malay.   I've bumped into Malay guys with 'Western' name such as Isaac, Teddy, Ben.  Then it's awkward.

I'm Chinese but I'm attracted to other races. Like ang moh, Latin, Indian, malay, Brazilian.

Somehow I discriminated against my own kind. It's almost like rejecting my own Chinese identity. You know? I also refuse to learn or speak my mother tongue.

I do those ang moh accent. Pretend posh

It’s a mix of factors, I think. Traditional thinking that fairness is more attractive probably has class roots where darker skinned people were thought to be from the lower classes cos they’d have to toil all day, and were thus less rich and attractive.
Then there’s the post-colonial hangover where white is still (to whatever extent) deemed to be most beautiful.

Should the fact that whites were more powerful make them still beautiful?   I am white but I find Asians much more attractive.  Among the Asians, some Chinese are beautiful but I see also so many that are not.  Could this be because many are overweight and their average age is getting older?

IF Chinese guys only go for Chinese, maybe I used to be an Asian in a previous life and therefore I go for Asians?

Well there’s also the issue of fetishisation as a result of that colonial past :)

As you said, there are beautiful people everywhere. To ascribe beauty to only one group over all others is quite myopic (speaking in general here, not pinning this on anyone in particular).
