《Haunted Hotels in Malaysia》

Haunted Hotels in Malaysia

Haunted Hotels in Malaysia is an article created for those who strongly believe in the supernatural world. Over here in Malaysia, ghosts, spirits and demons are quite common to the locals where they appear in all sorts of forms based on the religion. For example, the Malay ghost would appear in the form of a Pontianak, Toyol or Jin where else for the Chinese ghost, it will appear in the form of their own language.

Over the years, there have been many hotels and resorts which have been termed haunted or ‘not clean’ by many guests and some even have had their establishment in the news or social talk. This article is however not to tarnish the names or the businesses but just to give an idea of some of the haunted hotels in Malaysia or Hotel yang Berhantu in the Malay language especially for those who strongly believe in the supernatural.

Haunted Hotels in Genting Highlands
First World Hotel Genting Level 13No stranger to the locals, Genting Highlands is said to be one of the most haunted places in Malaysia, and with 6,118 rooms it must be difficult to keep track of visitors from the “other side.” Recorded as the fourth largest hotel in the world, the hotel actually houses an outdoor and indoor theme park, shopping center, food plaza and even a tropical rainforest at the main entrance. It also houses Asia’s best international casino resort, and people say there have been numerous gambling-related suicides take place over the years. First World Hotel is known for its paranormal activities – guests who have stayed there would hear wailing spirits in the middle of the night, some have even seen ghostly apparitions jumping over the cliff only to vanish into thin air - the most famous account is a headless woman roaming around the corridor, apparently looking for her missing head.

Genting Highland Resort Hotel
Certain rooms are not available for rent no matter how full the hotel was – those who have seen the inside reported that it was filled with old Chinese ghost wards. They would subsequently fall sick for days afterwards. Apparently this resort is on top of the list for being the most haunted in Malaysia.

Sunway Hotel Gerogetown
Gurney Hotel
Sri Malaysia Hotel Penang

Room 102 I saw a reflection of someone dashing through the room in the mirror, just outside the bathroom in the hallway above the dresser drawers. While drying my hair with a towel, dripping wet and naked, I stepped out of the bathroom into the bedroom to have a look. A Malaysian man with a black turban and black silk clothes materialized and stood facing me about three feet away. He opened his mouth and moved it as if he was speaking to me, but he was silent. He had deep eye sockets; void and darkness replaced his eyes, and his face was dry, brown, and crinkled. The ghost then reached for me, extending both arms, and hovered toward me at about one inch per second.

The collection of haunted hotels in Malaysia have been collected and taken from various forums or websites from around Malaysia based on peoples experiences at these places. There is no solid evidence on to the experiences here therefore many can assume that this can be passed off as tiredness, illusions or simply mind playing tricks. Then again, is it?

The most common experiences shared are the ones where the lights, air-condition, television goes off and on. Others include blankets being pulled or simply seeing someone standing there in the dark looking at the guests. The list goes on and we would like to know your experience.

I tend to agree with seawind in his posting here.  All humans are capable of 'see-ing' and/or 'feel-ing' the presence of these spirits.  It is whether we want or we do not want.  Those who want it, their third eye will allow it to happen.  Likewise, those who do not want, they are spared.  It is the way the Universal Law of Attractions and Vibrations works to protect us.

It is the energy that we hold (simply, our auric field) that creates the outcome.  When the energy field is low, (usually) dominantly created from fear, there is a high tendency that an individual can get an auric attack.  Those individuals with high density aura (usually filled with love) and when these individuals are highly sensitive, they will not get an auric attack.  Instead, they will get a brush from 'the lost souls' for guidance towards the white light.

I would like to ask seawind:
1.spirits are everywhere 24/7 .. so in the 7th months, the spirits will gather around more because the human realms are making offering to them,? "Celebrating" for them.

2. Someone who also said he can see spirits said that at waterloo street's guan yim temple, there are many spirits there too.. u agree?

3. The paper incense offerings that we burn, do they received it? Can they? But in what form do they received it after we burn them? Or are we being superstitious by burning all these incense offering if they are not receiving it at all?

7th month is a critical mass energy.  When there are millionth believers, the energy heightens.

It is true that there are many spirits around a temple, a church and/or mosque.  The reason is, these religious houses are 'seen' by the lost souls/spirits to be a place of the white light.  [google 'what is white light']

I have no specific answer to (3).  The paper incense offerings are faith specific (critical mass).  It is more an human act to appease their own guilt and fulfilling filial duties.  If we are to think heaven, does not 'this place' is already filled with abundance?

The 'form they received' is not the money, the houses, etc that one burns (the 'offerings') but the prayers that they are being remembered.

wat if we are not buddhist?Should we follow or ignore? Some not buddhist take the oppotunity of cheap ticket and fly to country for water sports.

Should we look around, 7th month is basically very chinese and very asian.  It is us that restricts and confines (our own thoughts) the movements during 7th month  Yet, all other human races all over the world still do what they do and life still goes on.

does 7th mth also releases spirits from other faiths like christian, muslim etc?

Christianity forbids the followers to contact spirits - Deuteronomy 18:11.  Whereas, the Muslims do believe that in their month of Ramadhan (the ninth month of the Islamic calendar), spirits are 'set free'.

I must say, when 7th month and the Islamic 9th month take place together, places like SG (and probably Asian countries where the critical mass exists) do have 'heavy' vibrations of spirits around.

PS, this is just a personal view

I came across an online article that mentioned the burning of incense paper tradition started when people used to burn the belongings of the deceased when one passed on. It is an act to reminder that all things are impermanent, and when we die we can't bring our physical possession with us. Probably it has then evolved to a practice we hv today.

recently i went to 1 of the sauna .. i did feel the presence of other beings, esp in the dark room .. i did see some colours projected transparently from the cabins.

any has this experience?

let's talk abt it without mentioning name of the establishment itself.

what time did u go? before this do u have the ability to sense paranormal beings? it could also be that u were too tired n it was merely your hallucinations. it could also be that there were having some lightstick events and your eyes were playing tricks on you.

now that u have mentioned it, i think it can be quite creepy if after coming out from the dark maze having fun, u realised that there were actually no one inside the room.

Unless the sauna is really pack I try to avoid areas of the saunas that I know I'll be totally blind in haha

I once went into one of the dark rooms in a sauna and it was pitch black and silent, quite creepy so I just left the area and went to a more well lit and happening area.

As for supernatural stuffs I haven't experience any thing yet in any of the saunas I've been to lol

it has to do with the age of the buildings the establishments are located in.

No natural light and air turned stagnant chi into sa.

Like attracts like. Just notice the kind of patrons they attract.

It is still okay to visit but just dun be addicted to it.

Moderation is the key.

I stopped going when a spirit followed me home. It disturbed my mum by pinching her when she was sleeping and my mum cried out saying it wasn't her fault of something. It stopped when I quickly do offering.

Do you know the old blue heaven used to be a funeral parlour? Their third floor dark room and shower area is the level whey they collect and store corpses so that they can shower and do made up for the dead before handing it back to bereaved families for funeral?

They say Hercules location is another funeral parlour as well.

Cruise is the best, that place used to be a clan association hall and during world war 2 Japanese occupation period the imperial army occupy that building as their administration centre and slaughter/torment many Singaporeans in there.

Way into the 60s after many decades the war have ended Chinatown residents in nearby streets and buildings reported to have hear ghostly wails of torment from tortured souls still trapped in there during the nights.

I saw one at absolute before.

I was standing and posing in the corridor in the dark maze on the second floor and I saw four guys walk past me and go into the deep end of the walkway.

It is a one way road and all who enter and exit have to pass by where I was standing.

Only three come out and after a very long time I decided to walk in to check out what the fourth one was doing inside.

There was no one around.

The following ones are fake stories told by sauna minahs. :P

They love to spook people by telling ghastly ghost stories in saunas.

Eg

After a guy die of a heart attack in blue heaven steam room those bitches joked about unsuspecting people groping and touching the dead man sitting there inside the steam room without knowing he was dead.

After the guy who commit suicide in one seven SM room they say they can see his ghost walking all over the place haunting the sauna.

This one is my personal favourite :)

They say everytime you are fooling around and hugging strangers in the dark room lying on the big mattress in old blue heaven you never know if you are playing with a living person or not.

Maybe you are playing around with a dead corpse that use to hanged out there.Because you can't see a thing on the total darkness you don't know what they look like, imagine if the light was switch on all of a sudden and you see .....

Hahahaha

Back to 2 years ago. I went to sauna A, and met a fit guy with his rock hard 6 packs and nice built body at the maze 2nd floor. After we had fun, we went out and I immediately cant recall how his face looks like, couldn't find him also. Until now i still cant remember what we did inside the room and also his face. This gives me goose bumps whenever I think about it.

Oh I remember another one.

It's at old shogun in Hong Kong street.

They say a guy went into a room with another guy and while they are proceeding to get further ahead in the lovemaking session the guy calmly remove his head and give it to his partner.

Many times, many of us cannot see but can feel their presence.

12 years ago, I check in a budgeted hotel at Balestier with my bf, everytime we meet up. All along, its fine. But this time, I feel strange when inside the room. I could feel someone is there too.

We took a quick shower. Soon, we are on the bed. Within a min, I ask my bf, u wanna to go? To my surprise, he is ok about it, without making a fuss. We change and leave. The moment we step out of the hotel, he says,"I can feel it too!''

2 years ago, my friend (housing agent) ask me to simple renovate and clean up the house. The owner has just died and the son (whom the father dumped at orphanage when the son is 5 yrs old) wanna to sell it at any price ASAP. The place feels cold (within the 7 days period). I didn't care much as my friend knows all these (ghostly thing and how to handle it). within 2 days, the place is cleaned and washed, empty without a single item. However, the owner has plastered a lump of cement unto the wall bcas its leaking water from above. Its as big as 40cm by 60cm and 10cm thick.

So one evening, about 5 plus, we bring a hammer and start knocking off the cement on the wall. I stood there and watch.....

Then I could feel someone standing beside me. Its like there is an image beside me. I turn to my right. There is nothing. The whole bloody place is CLEARED. its not the wall sticking out or anything. I was thinking, it could be the trick of my eye. I turn and look at my friend again.

Within few seconds, I could feel it again. My left side is nothing, but my right side got something. Again I turn my head, I see nothing.

Within few mins, my friend shouted at me. "what time already''

"'5.45, I replied.

''Ok, lets go. ''

I quickly wait outside the house. Then we quickly walk away. walk towards carpark. I dare not say anything (yet)

''I saw the uncle standing beside u''

As usual, I will start to ask him - what he wear, what he do, etc....

After the 7th day, I went back the house again. its not cold anymore

In year 2013, The Chinese hungry ghost month will begin on 7th of August 2013 and end on the 4th September 2013.

During this month the gate of hell is open so the spirit and soul are free to roam our world.

Listed are things that one should AVOID:

It was said that young people should not wander around too late into the night during the ghost festival for fear that spirits would follow the individual home.

It is bad luck to kick or disturb offering to the hungry ghost such as joss stick, candle and food offerings. All these item are mean for appeasing the spirits and ghost.

It would be best to avoid swimming during this month as victims death by drowning may cause the individual to drown. Some has experience their leg been drag/pull into the water.

Avoid talking about ghost during this month as it may offend wandering spirits.

Leaving an umbrella open outside the house in the night is also considered a no no as spirits may take shelter under them.

Bringing an umbrella into the house after it was used in the night is also not advisable. It is said that one may bring/carry in spirits to the house.

One should also avoid going into a jungle during this time. Tree with long leaves are consider very yin and it’s not advisable to take shelter there.

One must also not kill any rare insect (moth, grasshopper, butterfly, etc) that visits the house during this time. They apparently are manifestation of spirits or ancestors paying a visit.

To begin/start renovation to your premise during this time is inauspicious. This is said to be disturbing any spirit/soul residing there.

I was told that moving/placing a fish tank into a house this month is also considered inauspicious. Water is considered a Yin element.

Celebrating birthdays in the middle of the night during the seventh Chinese ghost month is inauspicious.

Taking out wet clothes for drying in the night. Apparently, Spirits would try them on and will bring misfortune to whoever that wears it after.

Was told - its NOT true that the gate is opened on the 7th month. its something like its most ''ying'' at the period of the year. thus many ppl saw it.
