Happening At Fort Road Beach / Car Park / Under The Bridge + How I Missed Those Fort Road Days (Compiled)

Went by Fort Road - car park - the weekend before last (I think) and walked the jogging/bicycle track for a bit. There were a few cars parked and few people about but I attributed that to the lateness of the hour (2a.m.). As I came back out into the carpark, all the cars were driving off. Strange, I thought.

Then I noticed two police cars parked across the carpark as you come in and about 4 policemen were walking about the car park with torches. They were looking into the cars parked between the trucks and buses.

Since I was walking out already and they would obviously have seen me, I continued my casual stroll right towards them (it was the straight path out - pun unintended!) and they paid no interest even as I eventually walked right past them and their cars. They drove off soon after.

Is the beach still accessible?

Before saunas are all over Singapore, (most of my overseas friends are amazed that we have that many saunas in SG) FR beach used to be the last gay paradise.

Mainly due to the location and the difficulity accessing to the beach, all of the guys there were either looking for sex or a place to tan nude (or both)

It is history, so sad, I remember I went there twice in those days and got pricked by the tall lalang or some thorny shrubs along the path before reaching the pine tree forest and than deeper before the sound of waves caught my ears. It was like you were looking for something fun on the way and the forest just opened into view and beyond that it looks like jurassic park with all men running around...or at least I saw few naked guy swimming in the sea and one or two have sex in the bush for free watch, It was like sauna in the wild, people lurking in the forest maze or bathing in the sea from thin crowds in the day to thick crowds at night. Calling it gay paradize is not too far fetched after being there twice only because I hate feeding the mosquitoes. If only those day can be brought back again, which is unlikely, I will certainly go there as frequent as visiting a sauna. As for now,, it lives in our memory and I have no regrett being borned to cruised ford road in those days. Not sure how many BW members have such fortune...because I see many here are quite young in their 20s. The older one not sure if they are still around, not that I am very old.....hahaha

Probably so, I think I have seen some familiar faces in sauna, but most have given up their cruising activity and concentrate on bread and butter issue of life. In our younger days, sex rule our world and I really do that "full-time" without any other hobby. As you grew older you tend to think about financial well being with occasssional thought of cruising as pass time but no longer a priority as with HIV on the rise, that is also another deterrence. Anyway....I missed those days having sex with 500 spartans and still emerged clean and energetic. Now, can only express those memories in writing - the demise of old ford road, dhoby Ghaut, City Hall, Raffles Place, Elizabeth walk, River Valley Swimming pool, International Plaza, Hong Kong Street, Ann Siang Hill, People's park complex, Old Liang Court, 6th floor of Tiong Bahru Plaza, Old Bugis Junctions, Suntec City, Old Parkway Parade..... Gosh! there were no lack of choices in those days when saunas did not come in existence in those days. Now all congregates swam into saunas and gave the operators huge profit - win-win since it is safer, more privacy and homely now. No more gay "straying" as before. kekekeke...

The beach still quite active now. The best time to go is during the weekend. Go there in the afternoon. At night very dark diff to walk abt. During the weekday at night, the car park is very active. you can check it out there.....

Hi, if you want action in the thick of it all, get off the car park and hit the tracks within. Go gaily forward in the direction of MBS and keep your eyes open. There are action on both the left side (along the canal that runs parallel to the track) or the right (inside the thick forested area). I would say action happens along this stretch all the way till you hit the wall at the end of the track.

The crowd is generally middle aged onwards, with the occasional young jogger or two (some not knowing where they have stepped into, so please do not harass the wrong people!).

Apologies if I was not any clearer. I am referring to the track. Once you are on the track, you walk towards the direction of MBS. There is construction currently to the left of the track; but they are over the other side of the canal. So, it does not affect the action. On some nights, for some reason, certain lights goes off (NParks save $ measure? , and the track becomes dark at certain areas. There, you will see people (one hopes haha esp for this month!) lurking and moving in the dark.
