If both closed, no gay sauna to go?

Hmm... I think you were talking about 2 different things entirely...

Chuan Tang & Huang Chi were hot springs, they were not known as gay saunas eh.

Anyway, not sure if Chuan Tang is now closed for good, but Huang Chi, as they staff said, they are "temporary" closed for 3 years to transform the place into a Bali-themed Hot Spring Resort/Hotel - see the news below:

What dates are you trying to book for?  Usually you can book about 2 months ahead of your stay.  Especially on the weekend they sold out fast, so you have to book as soon as they become available.

Been to green house sauna once. Its the only gay sauna in Tainan. Boy its seriously ancient. The decor and furniture is really really old school. I mean like solid wood with mother of pearl.  Crowd 90% above 60. If you into silver daddy then this is the place for you.

Go on their nude theme night. I think it's wed or thu.

Very busy and age range no difference to keybox

I just went to Emperor.  Only pavilion 1 and the restaurant were closed.  They have reopened pavilion 3 for men naked hot springs.  Entrance is now only 120 NTD.  I thought it was pretty nice.  Pavilion 2 (coed with swimsuits) is also open.

Went to Beitou Hot Spring Resort last weekend. Stayed there from about 2.30pm to 5pm. Quiet, not many people, probably around 20. The place is clean and modern. Had fun with a mature stocky guy in the jacuzzi pool and with a young slim guy in the steam room. Also witnessed 3 young guys in their 20s having group fun in the steam room.

I see, I've never been to pavilions 2 & 3 before, was pavilion 3 the same size as the closed pavilion 1?

What facilities (such as how many hot pools, steam room/dry sauna) are there in pavilion 3?

May be just a bit smaller.  Pavilion 3 has 1 white sulphuric hot springs pool, 1 big warm pool, 1 warm spring pool with 3 jets and 1 cold pool.  There are also 2 or 3 open sheds where people can rest.  1 steam room and a couple of massage rooms.  I went on a Monday, the doors to the massage rooms were closed and there was no schedule posted, so I am not sure if they are open or not.  But I think the massage closes on Monday in Pavilion 1 as well.  I like open air hot springs vs indoor ones.  This was my first time pavilion 3 too.

Ah ok, there's a steam room too, haha. Probably will drop by this pavilion 3 next trip.

My only 'complain' is that need to bring own towel and water bottle (kind of troublesome) - and not able to refill more drinking water for hydration also, haha.

But of course, the best part of this will be its cheaper entry price at NT$120.

I think they have a water fountain but not positive.  The steam room wall is translucent so people can make out shapes from outside.

I second that.  Unfortunately, I can't read Chinese so I have no idea which one is pavilion 3.  Wonder if the first one is ... the one nearest the parking lot?  If so the 3rd is the old place where the steam room was crudely demolished?

If you are coming from Xingyi Rd 3 (bus stop) and then coming down the stairs, you will first pass Chuan Tang, then cross the little bridge to Emperor 1. Go further along that little road, number 2 is on the right, and number 3 is on the left.

Conversely if you are coming from Xingyi Rd 4, then you will first get to number 2 and 3 before you reach number 1.

I usually go from Xinyi rd 3.  You basically just go down the stairs to kawayu and then make a left at the bottom (instead of a right to Kawayu), then walk along a path and cross the river.  You will see pavilion 2 first and then 3 is further up the hill to the left of 2 when you are facing it.

Where did you get this picture from?  They look very different.  2 and 3 should be on the same side of the road, and it is a parking lot and the river across from them.  Kawayu should be on the other side of the river much further away.

If you are coming down from Xinyi rd 4, you will see 3 first.  The river should be on your right and both 3 and 2 are on your left.  You can tell the difference between the two pavilions.  Although they are right next to each other, 2 has a wider building front and you have to walk up to it,  3 is a narrow road sloped upwards with a couple of turnstiles at the base, you will see a building after you walked up the slope.

I'm now confused.  Walking from the parking lot down hill, 3 then 2 are on the left.  But then on Google Map street view, there's another entrance 3 on the right hand side.  It doesn't make sense if 3 straddles both sides of the road?

"And Then" photo is the one taken on the right.

The other entrance is the one on the same side as 2.

If you look at Google map, all three buildings are on the same side of the road.  The pin for pavilion 3 on google map is on the wrong spot!  I have been there many times.  The Google photo is old from April 2017!!!!  Everything looks very different now.

Yep, that's how I remember it from my Jan 2026 trip.  "And Then"'s photos got me a little confused.  But the area is quite easy to navigate after a visit in the day time.

Too bad that #1, chuan tang / kawayu also closed.  Sometime it's nice to use the place for what they're intended for (among same minded folks) and not necessarily anything extra.

Beitou Hot Spring Resort has got a section that provides free snacks and refreshments (included in admission price) for patrons.

Ill be in Taiwan again soon, is Taichung easy to get around?  I see there is only one MTR line on the map and most of the places of interest are far from the stations.

Also, Beitou hot spring resort good on weekdays in terms of people (and possible action)?

Yes, Leo was good. Was leaking with precum during the second half of the session. It is advisable to book in advance.

Btw, Royal Spa has probably changed its operating method by providing pure massage using finger pressing….

HE was leaking? Wow that’s hot! I’m hoping to book Leo for the end of this month

I unexpectedly had an amazing time at Beitou Resort. I went for the facilities because they looked the newest and  most modern.

At first when I arrived, no one caught my eye so I enjoyed the different pools and relaxed. After about an hour, a hung thick bodybuilder walked in and we immediately made eye contact. He started stroking his big cock (put his towel up so guys on the other side couldn’t see) in the sauna.

i started to get horny so i went outside and he followed me, hovering around the showers. I then went into one of the cubicles and he followed. We played inside until we both climaxed. We chatted for a bit afterwards and I noticed more hot guys coming in.

The facilities are great. The hot springs are nice and lit so you can see everyone’s bodies and faces clearly. Lots of guys discreetly stroking in the steam room. After climaxing with bodybuilder, I had my eye on a stocky guy with a cute face but he was keeping to himself so I assumed he was straight.

I was ready to leave as I wanted food lol however I noticed stocky came to the lockers shortly after. I had already started to change and I noticed he was doing the same. His locker was next to mine coincidentally and it was so awkward. We then left at the same time and he opened the doors for me to leave instead of walking straight out (that’s when I knew he was gay 😂) we started chatting about where I’m from and the rest is history.

I was surprised at how gay this place is but I’ll definitely return when I visit Taipei again.

So you meant if a guy opens the door for another guy, it's obvious that he is gay?

If that's the case, I should stop opening doors for others. lol

The shower cubicles have got glass door with middle section frosted. You managed to did it probably means it was super quiet at that time...

as far as i know, the minimum that is guaranteed, is if you pick B2B, then the masseur will be naked and you get a hand job,

anything more is entirely up to the connection btwn you two.

Taichung is probably one of the biggest cities in Taiwan with the most inconvenient public transportation means.  Airport to town:  Uber, heavy congestion during rush hours.  Around town:  there are buses, but from the time I mapped on Google Map to when I reached a stop on foot, the bus is already gone.  Areas around the train station are compact and walkable, but everywhere else will take a long time to get to.  The city is both ... big and small depending on where you want to go.

Tried Captain once. I guess they are professional cos their massage is really quite good (at least the masseur I booked), in fact better than many proper massage shops. This is quite unusual compared to many gay "massage" places in TH and even JP/KR, so I read. Even without the B2B and happy ending, I might even choose them for pure massage if ever my muscles are aching.

Thanks for the heads up.  I will probably just take a bus tour to get a feel of the place before going solo.
