Shirtless boy
Happy Shrimp Year to everyone here!!! I'm delighted that my wondershrimps colour were improving after feeding them with supplements from CRS Haven and they are all dark red now. I've also increased their headcount by purchasing additional wondershrimps from CRS and made the total headcount to 8! Huat lah!

Yes yes, i agree w shirtless (esp for men: g or str)we dont like to go one big round or spend efforts bargain, we want to dive in and then achieve our objectives. I have been telling many that 做大事的人has no time for petty matters 小事 I felt generally if u r a wondershrimp breeder, there is really ltd choices around in sg....... I even tried goin in jb malls, total waste of time after researching all the way in and out.......later custom/ava this n that........ Your prices are quite ok, don't ever learn from my ngeow friend - v stingy, not willing to provide specialised food for their shrimps...Women tend to be v bothered with small things and hence not many female hobbyists of shrimpssomeone will have better lobangs for U (shrimps only) Anyway when u typed: "They also quoted me eco-snails at 2 for $5 but I rejected as the snails don't look attractive to me" I feel like laughing, I can really imagine u declining and rejected their "business proposals' on those snails and u highlighted "they r NOT nice" So funny sia, it s like as though u cannot give me anything presentable, I will throw it out.... maybe this is not funny to the rest and pls don't ask me how wld I rephrase this hor.... deathblade88
I did mentioned b4 I can get an MO for wondershrimp overseas. It will cost abt SGD2.5 per shrimp after shipping charges. Respones not very good, so I put off the idea.

That is a good tip!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Deathblade I shall test on my LFS for their pricing, my ngeow friend said my neighbourhd LFS diok me and chopped me , I felt he is v stingy loh, the only more expensive LFS is CRS Haven (due to its wondershrimps and products) I saw some white (moving) things on my glass(tank) but it coud be bb shrimplets, I thought they r worms iinitally , so I cleaned them all and I m worried nerites will kill them ie the reason why I have not decided whether should I get 1 too.... deathblade88
@lovehandle Pls be minded that wondershrimp is a term coined by them. Nerites is a top choice to have in any setup. Very efficient worker. See how fast they work: Those "eco-snails" that CRS is selling are called trumpet snails. Downside is that they do breed fast. yuquidam

Shirtless boy
I'm trying to influence my boy to keep wondershrimp too but he don't like nor fancy shrimps. Going to bring him to seaview tomorrow to purchase some guppies or goldfish. Can anyone enlighten me if normal CRS or cheery shrimp are able to mix with these fishes? And yes, I have seen seaview selling those big prawn (Malaysian algae eater shrimp) which is brown and looks quite ugly; are they able to be mixed with fishes as well? deathblade88
@Shirtless boy Pls do chat up with some of the uncles at seaview. Some of them are very knowledgeable and will not hesitate to share with you. Chatted with a guy (i think he is the boss of seaview), very friendly. Throws him all kind of questions, he answered me very patiently and in great detailed. Very hard to grab hold of him if he is very busy. Yes, I may know whom which one you are referring to as I did spoke to him few times before. He's always at the counter or walking around. However, those guys who are the packers especially the older one and the prc guy are super rude and not knowledgeable. Guest tam20
lovehandle those flat white worms you see are planaria, its said by many breeders( and pets shops) that it digs into adult shrimps carapace (front shell area) and causes death. it will also eat tiny shrimps. i've observed random shrimps death and low birthrates in tank also when the worms is alot.. u guys can reduce food given to shrimps to once a week etc and put the specific glass tube for catching the worms! correct me if im wrong bros~
lovehandle
Dear @tam20, don't b shy, u may share over here, so that all the hobbyists can learn too U mentioned that : " planaria will dig into your adult shrimps shell then they die.. if not they eat baby shrimps! try to control them ah! haha u using RO filter for your water? (reverse osmosis) haha don feed carrot la! carrot will rot in water + pesticide + carotine(makes your shrimps red instead of blue) " Really? those worms will dig into shrimps? No wonder even though many mum shrimps are pregnant w many babies only 1-2 survived, but all their parents are dead after cny!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! anyway the carrots and other veges are recommended by those shrimp blogs/websites and forums - if not I wont dare to do so Maybe it s MORE for RCS (Red cherry shrimps) Edited February 22, 2016 by lovehandle

Guest tam20
@lovehandle ok la then i shall not be shy HAHA ya according to what i heard and observed la yea, those worms grow fast when you keep feeding the shrimps. for me i feed those commercial shrimp food or mulberry leaves(fresh/dry).. try feed lesser and try to catch them! nowadays got medication to kill those worms already. but i never use, too big of a risk for me

I didn't know that there is a tube to catch those planaria , anyway mine is a very very small nano tank, I doubt it has space for the tube in fact I have cut down on feeding, mine is very small pellet type- meant for hourly feedings(but I have only fed once per day) , they r like a dot on your finger nails, I posted the links before I noticed your pellets are as large and think like the index finger (1st segment) same here, I will avoid using chemicals

Guest tam20
CO2 increase nid CO2 tank la haha cos low oxygen create hostile environment ma (but applies to your shrimps also ah careful) lols! if u keep moss (java, fissiden, christmas etc) then CO2 make them grow also la.. shrimps eat algae de don worry if you never feed them Lol even if u never feed for a week, it will be fine ( provided your tank not empty la) try feeding every few days.. Try 2days then maybe 3days?

lovehandle
co2 is carbon dioxide right? Perry
Hi guys, Thanks for reading my post. I have a 10 litres tank that has 7 shrimps left (CRS x3, chocolate shrimps x2, cherry shrimp x1, young snowball shrimp x1). Recently it has some critters infestation, small white spots creatures swimming in the water which I believed to be cocepods. I read up on them and some forums says that they are harmless to shrimps whilst some mentioned that that they may attack the shrimps. Anyone has experienced having these critters before? Any advice? Neocaridina and caridina gt different PH requirement~ @lovehandle increase CO2 only, thus the O2 content will be slightly lesser (But careful. too little O2 shrimps will die)
