Maybe not at Shogun, but when you are at home what you can do about snoring is to cut a narrow strip of surgical tape (the paper tape that is very sticky) and stick it on your closed lips.  This will keep your mouth shut during sleep, even if your jaw relaxes and separates.  You will be breathing though your nose, which needs to be unobstructed to the air. And it is best if you sleep lying on your back.

What happend if the nose is blocked, and the only way to take a breath is through a mouth, which you have adviced to keep it shut by a surgical tape? I have investigated this. The tape keeps the lips together but not strongly enough to prevent a big gasp for air to remove the tape, especially if the strip of tape is narrow. The front of the mouth is elastic, so it does not take much force to keep it closed. I do this all the time not because of snoring but to avoid a dry mouth. Some tape is semi-permeable like the 3M Medipore, which works fine for this use.  If a sudden blockage of the airwaves occurs, like in sleep apnea, it is normal to wake up.

 

Just in case, I would not do this having a stuffed up nose. This is why I wrote:  "You will be breathing though your nose, which needs to be unobstructed to the air.". It is wise to keep an unobstructed nose by breathing deep and slow, always through the nose, even when exercising. Deep breathing helps keeping colds away.
