Latest news....see below. Huang jingyu has just joined a big drama with pro actors...but this director Yu zheng's reputation not very good...he was known for copying other ppl's work.

And whether will this affect season 2? It said the below drama start filming now...ShangYin if ok to go ahead will be in may.

I think some fans don't like.

黄景瑜加盟于正新剧《半妖倾城》 网友:求放过

Seeing the cast list...i also saw Dai Xiangyu...formerly known as dai yangtian when he was in spore.

Think the major cast already there when filming started in dec....i think Jingyu probably play a very small role...or added role?

Thanks so much.

Ya...i also find it interesting Weizhou said Jingyu's Tom (cat) and himself is Jerry (mouse).

In the cartoon, Tom always try to catch Jerry who often outsmart Tom, often resulting in the cat badly hurt or even killed but always return unharmed in the next ep/scene. Rarely they show abit of concern for each other and would cooperate for a common goal/enemy. More importantly is the 2 chars rarely appear w/o each other.

Why Jingyu said a cat when asked to describe Weizhou...i suspect b'cos of their pets...i saw their pics...Weizhou had a cat while Jingyu had a big dog.

The model LouQing who acted as Jin Lulu has non-typical oriental look. What i can see is she has good humor about her looks.

She even made and posted the below during CNY.

Ya, often gay-themed story got a manly guy (top) and a less manly (or even abit sissy) one as btm...esp those thai comedy type. Some esp Addicted show a less obvious couple....or rather, not both are agreeable to play the top/btm parts (as in Yinzi not so willing to be btm). Maybe got couples that are so much in love...that top-btm roles not so crucial...they might give in occasionally to please the other party.

Only watched a bit of  逆袭, (which is another novel of  柴鸡蛋,she wrote Addicted上瘾 also, note is a female writer), the 2 leads...the taller one looks more top/manly than the other cuter one. Well, to me, i prefer the 2 Addicted leads.

I saw a few supporting chars...same actors on both dramas....eg Guhai's friends...and also Guyang.

Actually Guyang acted by 王宇 is the elder cousin of  王青 (the taller lead 池骋 in 逆袭)....real-life. They do share abit of that coldness feel.

Anyway if Huang Jingyu is acting in other drama, it's good for him to gain exposure. Just hope he can continue to act in Addicted season 2...which i know when a drama is split into 3-4 seasons with one per yr....not easy for an actor to commit for so many yrs. I think he graduated (heard from one interview), the other 3 in Addicted are still studying.

From the same youtube source as above....came across this song 化身孤岛的鲸...the music is from 谢安琪's 我们都被忘了, with the lyrics rewritten yrs ago, not b'cos of this drama. But interestingly the title got 鲸 which is the nickname of JingYu....does it sound like the whale met someone probably a human, carrying him/her on its back.....eventually willing to turn into an island for his/her sake? This version is sang by 周深 who sang 欢颜 in 中国好声音 with a high pitch voice.

something interesting from soompi again:

They started off the video by wishing everyone a Happy Chinese New Year of the Monkey (the zodiac).

First question: What is the first line from the show that you can think of now?
Johnny: So you regret meeting a person like me right?
WZ: I'm scared of the pain/I'm scared it'll hurt (lol).

Second question: Strike a pose which you think is your handsomest/best looking.
Johnny: (in a joking manner) I don't have any pose that doesn't look good - they all look good.

Third question: Any movies you watched recently which left an impression on you?
Johnny: Adam's Family (I think? It's the chinese translation of the title so I'm not sure)
WZ: (some chinese movie). I cried again.

Fourth question: What is the most memorable thing that you have eaten recently?
WZ: When I went home and ate the food which my mom cooked.

Fifth question: Use a cartoon to describe each other.
Johnny: A cartoon...? Are there any cat ones? Robot cat? But not really... just some cat hahaha.
WZ: A cartoon...uh...Tom and Jerry I guess. He is Tom.

Sixth question: Use a cartoon to describe yourself.
Johnny: What is the handsomest cartoon character?
WZ: I guess I'm Jerry.

Seventh question: What do you think are each other's cutest moments?
Johnny: Uh...the cutest moment...when fighting for the bill? Hahaha.
WZ: The cutest is when he...is acting dumb/fooling around. (not very sure what 犯傻 means in this context)

Eight question: What do you think your own cutest moments are?
Johnny: My cutest moment...when I wake up in the morning I guess.
WZ: When I'm acting cute.

ahaha... weizhou thinks jingyu's tom and he's jerry :D

It's from this interview which nixorn posted earlier.

For the third question, 洲洲 was referring to the movie Hachi: A Dog's Tale. If you watched the movie, you'll know why he said he cried again (it was a re-watch for him).

About the song 我只在乎你, when Jingyu sang abit during practice....i'm touched by his voice (not saying he sang well, just like his voice and happy tone in it)....too bad he didn't continue. The rest of the song in the clip is from the same Bobo boy group posted above.

The 2 leads did sang it again live at a promotion event....but i feel it's not so good....also Jingyu not as natural as above....plus again they only sang a short version.

So i'm hoping that they would do a studio recording of the whole song.

Not forgetting the bed version....haha.

JIngyu's interview....they asked a few serious questions.

Some of background scenes reminded me....i remember reading that those scenes eg in water with rose petals...then another one is on the beach....are for making official MVs....mmm...wonder when will those be released.

Interview with the writer/producer...in article form...in chinese.

She mention about behavior during filming...eg Jingyu was more natural during sex scenes....Weizhou would scold ppl (after cut) to hide his embarressment.

And how much the actors strip? Only left... 裤衩....underwear???

She also mention about future plans.

Only the so-called season 1 ended.  As long as they never said they won't film further or change actors....i feel the interest and anticipation is always there.

And it's self-generating....i now see more subbed versions of the clips in youtube....besides english, see vietnamese and even korean.

I think their company's strategy is get enough fans and interest....they can earn though DVDs, events, souvenirs etc....and probably further seasons might be able to get sponsors.

Just finished watching 15 episodes. Nice drama, but too much censored until some conversation a bit weird.

The Yinzi's dad is so handsome, also handsome in his executive wear during wedding. The PE teacher also not bad.

Guhai armpit hair quite nice also..lol..

Initially i read some viewers said Guhai/Jingyu look like a more handsome/manly version of 王大锤/白客. I googled some pics....where got.

But later some "model style" pics do share some resemblance. Wang is a char in an internet comedy 万万没想到 and BaiKe is the actor famous for it.

The usual look.

They definitely look older to be students, if "fast forward" to 8 years later, they would fit perfectly? Haha.

Happy - is what we should be, always.

Saw this in youtube. The starting part mentioned ??? Radio? like it's broadcasted on radio.

Well if the songs get broadcast on radio and appear in some music charts, that's an accomplishment.

It's abit different from the version played at end of drama serial....this one the piano seems more in use. And the starting got 4 extra lines lyrics...the one in drama started after that. And a set of pics of the leads in white walking near the sea posted earlier got the extra lyrics....so i guess that'll be a MV for this. Hope to see it soon.

I read some stuff....just share. For me, it's just trivia....won't affect my following of the novel/drama or support of the actors (in this or other productions).

Some friends/ex-classmates of the 2 leads said they are straight and got girlfriends in the past.

There's a recent claim posted on the writer's weibo that Weizhou (Yinzi) and the writer/producer (a woman) had some special relationship. She denied it and had officially sent a lawyer letter to that person....even posted a copy of the letter online.

*******************

As for their age (around 21-23)....mmm....it's a dilemma...if too young, hard to get suitable teens to act as gays (either permission or the emotions needed). The thai movie...Love of Siam....i just googled...that was 2007...wow, going to be a decade ago soon....those 2 leads at that time were around 18-19yo (maybe minus 1 more yr b'cos filming was earlier). Well i would overlook how the rest of the class look so much younger than them (plus the 2 supporting leads)...and that irritating girl who often pop over to seduce Guhai...haha. And I don't want 2 sets of actors. The feel would be missing.

Many readers comment for the novel....the author is good in details, emotions, creating emotional scenes etc....but not so good in the bigger scenerio...not sure how to say....one example is right in the 2nd half of novel....they lost 1 fighter plane and nothing much happened, and Yinzi flew plane to HK and another isolated place permission....not realistic in real life.

For the drama itself....most scenes didn't say much about what yr this is...but the appearance of new generation of Iphone and those apps....mmmm.....so 8 yrs later, Iphone 14?

And i doubt even with more budget, they would be able to film an airbase, fighter plane battles etc. They would have to edit some parts.

Now it's the fear that they might not be able to make season 2....more news about how china censor dept would be more strict with not only gay-theme, also overly sexy, revealing stuff. They also don't like supernatural stuff like demons, ghosts etc. Some drama with such themes also got mentioned.

I am not sure where to get the novel in spore....anyone try the bigger kinokuniya at ngee ann city? Or those small chinese bookshops in bras basah complex?

As for online reading...try :

http://www.danmeila.com/chapter/20150321/3396.html

Take note its a long read. Or u can listen to the youtube broadcast posted in previous posts. The last few chapters are 番外篇 extra chapters about Yangmeng and Youqi.

Btw one more mention about the classes in the drama serial...the english taught is abit low level...one math lesson, the teacher only kept repeating from point A to B, B to C etc...haha.

And read that initially when the writer looked at photos...intention is to let Weizhou act as Guhai.......but seeing in person, they changed their mind. Guhai is the last to finalise...initially chose a soldier or former soldier but he backed out. Jingyu is a model n appear on an info show...but unlike the others he is not from acting or arts school.

A cleaner audio clip of full version of 慢慢走.

In view of the age of those other students who in front as young as 14 to 16 yo n those wine drinking life style of GH, Perhaps the roles shoud be written as UNDERgraduate instead of high school students.

It quite difficult to find such a muscular student as gh.

Time frame wise, instead of 8 yrs later the writers can change it to 3 yrs later so as to reduce the need to explain the appearances of the actors without having 2 sets of actors.

If really like that...and no change of rules in near future....then so be it...at least one season was made and we have good memories.

But i wonder now that the novel/drama become well known overseas...some country might make their own version...maybe adapted. Would be a dilemma....i would always remember the original actors.

Another thing would be china internet drama or sitcom would become so restricted....i remember they got 1 gay themed sitcom or comedy b4...this type would be affected? And sexy theme? Supernatural theme?

I really love the 上瘾 Addicted series and after the conclusion of the first season I went on a hunt for more information regarding the series and the actors.

Here's a comment that I've found~

Hey, guys, I'm just going to share some facts and news for those who can't read Chinese and don't have Weibo. Do keep in mind that although these pieces of information are all confirmed, nobody knows what will happen in the future (the team is facing a lot of problems right now because of all the censoring, lack of funds, etc.)

1. THERE WILL BE A SECOND SEASON. CJD said on her Weibo account that the preparations are supposed to start in March and the filming in May. But the thing is, we will probably get to watch the second season in the beginning of 2017. CJD said that Heroin and the other drama are seasonal dramas. The other one airs in the summer and Heroin in the winter. The second season will also be longer than this first season, and that's totally predictable because the story becomes much sadder and heavier after this episode, but don't worry, it will have a happy ending.

2. THEY WILL NOT CHANGE THE CAST. CJD knows what she's doing. It is obvious that if the cast changes, they will lose many fans. Not to mention that they will face so much hate on Weibo, and let me tell you, don't underestimate the power of AFoW (Angry Fans on Weibo lol). They can say things so harsh that you can't even imagine. Also, CJD loves her boys. She wouldn't want to change the cast for anything. And the boys are very close too. You can be sure of that. Just go to their Weibo or Miaopai and you'll see.

2. The fact that this drama has been taken down online in mainland China will NOT affect the production of the second season. Whether it's CJD or the boys, they all seem to be very excited about it. The actors don't look like they know the exact start date of the filming, but it is positive that they are all looking forward to it. (Let's hope that they won't delay the filming because of the reasons mentioned earlier)

3. I'm guessing that there will be three seasons. As I said before, the story gets very heavy after this one and only one more season will not be enough to finish it. I don't want to give away spoilers, so I'm just going to explain this very briefly. CJD said that she is not sure where the second season will end at, but it won't be long enough to reach ...a certain part... of the story yet. So that means there will be more than two seasons.

4. They are looking for sponsors. They didn't expect that this first season will be so popular, so they didn't do much for reserving the credits and looking for strong and rich sponsors. CJD is planning to do some advertising in the second season (though not too much please). Although that is understandable because, according to the story (no spoilers lol), they will need money to produce what's coming next. But now the problem is: even when the staff already cut out A LOT of scenes already, the first season still got banned by SAPPRFT for the following reasons: "mention of drugs", "unusual sexual activities and orientations" and "violation of the public morals". If the first season got banned, it won't be a surprise that the second season follows, because there will be much more sexual scenes going on. So if we run the risk to get the second season banned again, it will be difficult to find good sponsors. But I am positive that money won't be the main problem.

5. If they lack of funds, or if the filming gets complicated, they might have to change a few things for the next seasons. Again, not to spoil anything, they will need money to film what's coming next. CJD said that even if they change some things, they will still follow the original story and use the original dialogues. What I am worried about is if they will be able to make the DVDs and if season two will be normally produced and funded.

They also portrayed the second generation of army generals (Gu Hai) as someone using his power to get what he wants. Highly sensitive. I think it will be the end of an era for Chinese gay tv series. It's not going to be easy to find money to fund the next season simply because they just lost the biggest market.

I wonder how hard the authorities will come down on these people actually. Such a pity, because if China wants soft power, ironically they just killed it.

Think the news from the China govt dept came later than that article about filming 2nd season. So it's the latest. It sounds really serious that alot of things they don't like....besides gay theme, over-revealing/sexy stuff.....supernatural/superstitious stuff....too much extramarital relationships....too much violence....and one more theme not too sure, i interpret as spies, mysteries etc. The main change is that in the past they close one eye with internet shows/dramas as compared to normal tv shows and movies....now they want to treat both the same. They want to inform the public all these in advance....to avoid disputes that some companies invested already and later got issues.

I'm not sure if they can ban a company from filming at all....or just cannot broadcast in china. But if a company does make a drama/movie but can only show overseas....then they lose out on local revenue.

I am thinking if they are merely concerned with kiss, sex scenes and storyline related to national air force....the author can edit and change....keeping most dialogue and the love between the leads still as touching as the novel. But if they are against a full gay storyline (compared to a mainly str8 storyline with only a minor char as gay)....then i guess that's it.

As i mentioned b4....what i don't want to see,,,is the actors themselves being affected.

Think there might be MV for the songs and Weizhou's songs are being played in radio stations, one even said his school radio played it.

For Jingyu....think he got friends in entertainment industry to expand his network....besides getting acting role in Yuzheng's drama serial...he was invited by this host 张大大 (i saw him in 我是歌手 as singer manager) to sing for this birthday event for Angelababy (Huang Xiaoming's wife). The host called him his "brother"...mmmm. But he doesn't speak as well or smoothly as Weizhou...need more time to polish.

Another of their recent fashion shoot and interview....though the clothes to me...so over.
