About the production team or author considering other actors before the current ones...here are some info....not officially released....so can't confirm 100% real or not.

In short, the 1st version of the 2 leads are 刘文杰 as Yinzi and 梁伟强 or唐皓强 as Guhai. I can't find anything on 唐皓强.

So the story goes that either the actor as Guhai quited......or they let him go b'cos he was really gay (probably too obvious).

 

But the original 2 actors are like 1.9m. So hard to find a new Guhai that suited the Yinzi at that time. So they also let go of that Yinzi actor. Or maybe he left on his own.

 

Anyway it was still in casting stage. Nobody arrived at set yet.

 

Then they chose again....the same story as b4....initially Weizhou as Guhai from pics only....then seeing in person, they changed his role to Yinzi.

Then they found JIngyu last as Guhai....2 positive pts are he's just slightly taller than Weizhou (1.87 vs 1.85) and he knows that martial arts.

I also read that initially they are afraid of his accent and abit cute/blur at times....but later accept these as new appeal for Guhai.

Read that char-wise, Jingyu and Guhai are closer....than Weizhou and Yinzi...Weizhou is more cheerful and out-going.

So about the so-called Guhai version 1.0, 梁伟强.... I find he and the later Jingyu shared abit of resemblance....but he's taller and leaner.

There are some photos inside the below link....got army uniform, so it corresponded with the info that they initially chose a former army boy.

On the other hand, Yinzi version 1.0 刘文杰  ....looks more different.....to some, he looks more handsome....more delicate or "softer"....to some, they feel he lacks the brooding or "black face" feel.

Think the drama has spread beyond asians or asian countries. In youtube, i saw several replies in the english-subtitled version of the episodes...are being made by non-asians....assuming their profile pics are accurate. Even saw 2 ppl (one is black woman n another a very gay angmo) doing reaction video clips to the episodes.

 

The latest info. I notice no month mention unlike earlier on said in may. Well at least know they aren't giving up. And pls keep the same 2 leads.

Due to broadcast restriction as mentioned earlier by nixorn (here), they are not allowed to show the remaining three episodes in China on any platform and DVD sales might therefore not allowed. Chances are there might not be a second season unless a foreign investor step in. 

 

But do read the novel if you can as it does help to explain a lot of things that happened in season 1...plus lots of explicit stuff that is not in the script also. I think the author read too much yaoi manga!

As i read the blogs and weibo...think the possibility of Jingyu not acting in season 2 is getting higher. One is he's getting more acting offers, 2ndly fans noticed that he had removed from his weibo some photos related to this drama (but not all)....and lastly even the author said she would TRY to get the same cast...the word "try" meaning she already knew some difficulties. Well, nothing is concrete yet....only until they really start filming that it's really true or not.

To me...i either take such news/rumors (u mean that guy saying he was Jingyu's ex?) with a pinch of salt unless more evidence...or no matter...it doesn't affect me watching the drama serial or to follow the actor.

 

The other rumor going around is Weizhou n the female author in some relationship..that one the author is now suing someone.

 

Also read in overseas fansites that can order DVDs and even got fan meeting events in thailand n taiwan....but no official news....so don't believe yet.

in china there are bath houses and people do go there so its quite normal to naked in front of other guys. just like the springs in taiwan, japan, koera. as to whether it is common for boys to take shower together, well haha im not sure as well. maybe its the horny female author's imagination

It is linked to this question...whether Jingyu (with his own appeal) made the less desirable (if based on above) Guhai better...or it doesnt matter since readers are attracted to such char more...越坏越爱...so instead playing Guhai earned him more popularity.

 

I also wonder if the writer tone down the char of Guhai to be less aggressive...but guess he would lose his uniqueness.
