Haha hehe ofc but i can share my previous experiences wouldn't say its cruising per se. once after my swim at bedok activesg swimming complex, i was feeling frisky and just walked around naked with a semi and i didnt close my door when showering, saw a few heads keep peeping in more than once. bluerunner 1 Quote

Either that, or you freaking extend the swimming pool till 10pm for public usage. In the words of White Chick's- I'm soooo frickkking PISSED. SurpriseMEinHere 1 Quote

aftereightme Posted January 18 Posted January 18 Realised the doors of bathrooms at in Clementi Swimming Pool had changed - the doors with its mechanism will close itself. Using a clothe peg, you can still make the door to stay open. 🙊 So yeah, all is not lost. Just have to put on your thinking cap, all problems will have its solution. aftereightme and Man2MenCurious 2 Quote

From my last few visits to Katong, there are still a few sun decks around. I do not see any at Jln Besar pool. Looks like several ActiveSG pools have removed the sun decks. Quote

I did feedback two years ago, and they feedback the delaying of purchasing the items is due to quantity collation of islandwide swimming pools to buy items at one go ... so they said probably in Feb 2026, they will progressively deliver to all pools. They are so productive and efficient, took two years of such coordination GymTan, shyc and Eug Tan 1 2 Quote
shyc Posted January 19 Posted January 19 Wow good job 👍 2 yrs to make purchase and probably just need 2 weeks to have them mostly damaged. 😜 Took over 3yrs to rejuvenate the pool and now barely 2 years later, toilet in such bad state. When they reopened toiletries racks kept dropping off and some haven't been replaced since. Whole panel of digital lockers haven't been functional since they 'upgraded' again. 😔 aftereightme 1 Quote
bluerunner Posted January 20 Posted January 20 The digital locker is a failure, imo. I dunno what’s the usage rate now. A typical example of going digital just because the government pushes for it. Bring back the old but simple coin lockers. shyc 1 Quote
shyc Posted January 20 Posted January 20 (edited) @bluerunner Totally agree imho too🤭 Yes indeed, I see fewer user. Not only is it too expensive, much smaller than before. Process of usage is considered tedious by many elderly due to multiple steps, plus many are afraid they forget passcode numbers keyed-in or accidentally keying in wrong HP numbers without double checking. The entry by ActiveSg acct is equally a huge step backwards. I remember the days when I just walked in with my farecard. These days so many "Calefare" sitting outside watching you make an entrance (Not all are friendly too). Not like the Jap sales staff who bow as you enter the premise. 🤭 Need so many eyes to ensure no cheating 😏🙄. Okay lah, shouldn't complaint so much, at least create jobs for others. bluerunner Posted January 20 Posted January 20 2 big drawbacks of the digital locker are: 1. Smaller space (and sometimes damn dirty inside) 2. The sequence of usage i.e.one putting in his stuff, making payment, and closing the door. Initially, I wasn’t familiar w the sequence and ended up not locking my phone or card which I used to make the payment. On the gantry to enter the pool, management has changed to a new system recently. You need to scan the QR swim pass to enter and to leave. This new system is supposed to be man-less. However, I still see someone sitting there cos there are still some (older) folks who dunno what to do. I remember old days when we used ezLink/transit link card, there wasn’t anyone there most of the time. shyc 1 Quote
shyc Posted January 22 Posted January 22 Good relaxing swim, cool breeze with a light touch of sun. No crowd except when I arrived but lucky mostly left by the time I finished 2-3 laps. Yes new scanner to enter and exit and yes lots of confusion still among the elderlies. Also the non functional locker kiosk was removed. I seriously suspect someone from the pool is lurking and spying here. 🤭😜 So far few of my previous complaints always somehow get rectified, coincidentally 🤷? (👋 😉 Hihi, thanks🙏) On 1/20/2026 at 5:41 PM, bluerunner said: 2 big drawbacks of the digital locker are: 1. Smaller space (and sometimes damn dirty inside) 2. Also when I remove my stuff, I will wipe with my bare palm if I see dirty. 2. Yes the process is a bit duh. Many first timer always accidentally have their hp still in their hands when they shut the lockers. Remembered having sarcastically joking to those who asked me how. 😁🤪 Had to unlock and pay again lah, how 🤭? Even thou the staff have secret access code they can't use it to help you unlock just to put your items in again. Quote
sphere Posted January 25 Posted January 25 For those interested to know - one year on, the current stage of the Toa Payoh Integrated Development (TPID), due to complete in 2030, haha. bluerunner Posted January 26 Posted January 26 @sphereStill a very long way ah. Before Kallang Basin is closed, I met an elderly swimmer there. He told me that he was also a regular at TPY pool. With the TPY reno plan, he hoped he will still be around when the reno completed. I felt sad hearing what he said. I also hope he will be around to see the new TPY pool. Quote
sphere Posted January 26 Posted January 26 @bluerunner, that's indeed unfortunate to hear, hopefully he could see the new TPID when it is opened (and stays healthy meanwhile). bluerunner 1 Quote Happy - is what we should be, always. shyc Posted January 26 Posted January 26 (edited) @bluerunner my sentimental the same when I saw sphere posting, was a bit surprised it's gona take that long. Even thou I had walked passed the place many times to get to Safra. Took for granted it will probably be done soon. Oh well... No love lost as I had never even been to the old TPY pool. Greenie Posted February 10 Posted February 10 (edited) always been swimming in the East (geylang, katong, jalan besar, bedok) so I experience some culture shock when I tried once at West side, cant remember Boon lay area or Jurong West activesg, the crowd is so much more crazier. At night, East side most time you can have 1 lane all by yourself for non lap, but the West one is crowded everyday. For now I really hate Tuesday because Jalan Besar and Katong are closed and the people all go to Geylang East and the best part is they still ALWAYS do water polo kids training on Tuesday night-time 7pm-9pm. Not to forget the beloved Kallang Basin swimmers also had to choose somewhere from these 3. All 4 of these pools are super close in proximity. I don't like Bedok charging premium pool price and its also crowded with seniors Edited February 10 by Greenie Thatwasawes 1 Quote
