Not sure if your low frequency of engaging in anal sex is due to the physical pain. I totally agree now that it is possible to feel painless. It really depends on the top. Yesterday, my top was so great. When you are not use to a certain size, not using enough lube or a lengthy session which the lube start to dry up( water base lube) or did not start off gradually to allow your anal sphincter to get use to penis or object.... yup you can get some soreness from the experience but you will heal. Use lube and relax before having sex. I'll relax my anal muscle wherein my bf will usually rim or finger me first.
