SINGAPORE — A 16-year-old teenager was sentenced to one-and-a-half years’ probation on Friday (May 7) for taking 58 video clips of naked boys in the men’s toilet at Sengkang Sports Centre. The teen will also have to remain indoors from 9pm to 6am, perform 70 hours of community service and attend offence-specific cognitive behavioural treatment. He was 14 when he committed the offences on Sept 22 and Oct 19, 2019.  In March, he pleaded guilty to 10 charges of making an obscene film under the Films Act, with another 48 such charges taken into consideration for sentencing.

Luckily he was 14 when he did it, so there will be no criminal record.

But I hope that his family can give him the support that he needs, instead of condemning and shaming him.

This case is probably a result of watching too much amateur internet porn at an age when he really shouldn't be watching such things, and then being immature enough to think he can create his own amateur porn, without understanding that such actions carry severe consequences.

I also hope that he has a supportive and caring family that can shepherd him through these unfortunate circumstances, but those odds are often not great in situations like this, so I pray that he gets straightened out, regardless, and doesn't become a lost young soul at such an early age.

Three months and two weeks jail for pictures you can easily find online (nude men showering), it recording such peep videos worth it? If he had been smart he probably had found guys who had offered him to shower in front of him with consent while he is filming them... Hard way to learn the lesson...

Those peeps and video recorders out there: Watch out... As said before, nowadays younger straight guys act more promptly to report you to the police...

Recalcitrant teenage offender given jail, fine after he repeatedly filmed other men in toilets

SINGAPORE - A student, who was charged in court last year after he unlawfully recorded multiple obscene videos of his male hostel mates, did not learn his lesson and went back to his old ways when he was out on bail.

Instead of keeping himself out of trouble, Tang Jiasheng, now 19, secretly filmed a 23-year-old man who was taking a shower at the hostel on March 10 this year.

The man, who caught the Chinese national red-handed, shouted at the teenager before alerting the police.

Tang was sentenced on Monday (May 17) to three months and two weeks' jail as well as a fine of $1,500. He will spend an additional one week behind bars if he is unable to pay the fine.

The teenager had pleaded guilty to five counts of voyeurism, two counts of making obscene films and one count of being in possession of obscene films.

Thirty-five other charges for similar offences were considered during sentencing.

Tang was a student of a private institution at the time of the offences. Details about the school and its hostel cannot be revealed owing to a gag order to protect the victims' identities.

Tang started his crime spree in late 2019 when he filmed a male schoolmate who was taking a shower.

He continued targeting other male students and one of them alerted the hostel's management after he noticed somebody filming him with a mobile phone on Jan 19 last year.

A staff member confronted Tang three days later and discovered that he had 41 incriminating video clips in his possession, the court heard.

The police were notified and the teenager then admitted to officers that he had been recording videos of his schoolmates since September 2019.

Deputy Public Prosecutor Chong Kee En said: "He also admitted to Dr Lee Yu Wei of the Institute of Mental Health that he had been filming males at Victoria Junior College in 2019 until he was caught - but not reported to the police - and then attended the (private institution)."

Tang was charged in court last year and was out on bail when he targeted the 23-year-old man on March 10 this year.

Young offenders are usually sentenced to probation or reformative training. Offenders given the latter are detained in a

centre and made to follow a strict regimen that includes foot drills and counselling.

DPP Chong, however, had urged the court to sentence Tang to jail, stressing that the teenager has "no local roots and cannot be a candidate for probation or reformative training".

The DPP also told the court that Tang had committed the offences to "gratify himself sexually".

For each count of voyeurism, an offender can be jailed for up to two years and fined or caned.

SINGAPORE: An air steward with Scoot Airlines who took multiple videos and photos of more than 10 men in public toilets was sentenced to 12 weeks' jail and fined S$3,000 on Monday (Dec 16).

Alton Keh Guan Qing, 27, took the clips of men in the toilets over two months, at places like Chinatown Point and City Square mall.

One video taken at an unknown location also showed two men engaged in sexual activity, court documents show.

Keh pleaded guilty to 14 charges, mostly for making obscene films, with another 28 charges taken into consideration.

Keh, who was working as cabin crew for the budget airline at the time, was caught on May 5 last year.

A 35-year-old victim had gone to the toilet in the basement at Chinatown Point mall as he had a stomach ache, said Assistant Public Prosecutor Lydia Goh.

After relieving himself, the man heard a noise and looked up to see a camera lens of a mobile phone aimed in his direction.

The victim exited his cubicle, went to the next one and grabbed the phone from Keh.

He looked in the photo gallery but could not find any videos of himself, but found videos and photos of other men using the toilet.

He called the police, who arrested Keh and took him to a station for investigations.

Keh admitted to the investigating officer that he had gone to the toilet before the victim and taken a photo of him defecating.

When he realised that he had been noticed, he deleted the photo.

OBSCENE CLIPS FOUND IN HIS PHONE

His phone was seized and sent for forensic examination. The obscene shots showed men in various private moments while using a toilet.

Assistant Public Prosecutor Lydia Goh on Monday asked for 16 weeks' jail and a fine, pointing out the sheer number of charges in the case.

Keh, who has voyeurism disorder, asked the judge to be merciful in sentencing, saying he hoped for an opportunity to start afresh.

He wrote in his mitigation plea that he was genuinely remorseful and had no previous criminal records.

"Over the past year, I have regularly attended psychotherapy sessions at IMH and professional counselling sessions," he said. "These sessions have been very beneficial in getting to the root of my problems so that I will not commit the same mistakes again."

He added that his family was aware of the situation and were very supportive of him.

Scoot told CNA there were no reports of similar incidents during the term of Keh's employment.

For each charge of making an obscene film, he could have been jailed for up to two years, fined a maximum S$40,000, or both.

Former taxi driver jailed for molesting 13-year-old boy while pretending to help with seat belt

SINGAPORE: A former taxi driver was given 14 months and three weeks' jail on Tuesday (Apr 13) for molesting a 13-year-old boy he was ferrying home from school.

Chew Lye Beng, 58, cannot be caned as he is above 50, and three weeks of his jail term are in lieu of three strokes of the cane.

He had been convicted last month of one charge of using criminal force on a minor to outrage his modesty in his taxi on Jul 21, 2017.

He had picked up the boy - who was accompanied by a friend - and asked him to sit next to him in the front seat, chatting with him and pinching his cheeks on the way.

When they got to the boy's home, Chew leaned over to help the boy with his seat belt and molested him. The shocked boy told his friend when they alighted that Chew had touched him.

Chew then asked the victim to go into a toilet with him, and asked his friend to wait in the car. However, the boy, frightened, ran away and retrieved a penknife from his home before returning to school for co-curricular activities (CCA) with his friend.

The crime was uncovered when his mother questioned him about the penknife.

Deputy Public Prosecutors Chong Kee En and Mansoor Amir had sought the sentence that was given, listing aggravating factors including that Chew was a public transport worker ferrying a young charge home from school.

Mr Chong also pointed to how Chew had conducted himself at trial, raising "aspersions" and suddenly saying he could not understand English because the prosecutor was Indian.

Chew's lawyer asked for a jail term shorter than what the prosecution sought, saying that his client has decided on his own accord not to appeal against conviction.

Chew has not been working since the incident and has been receiving medication for depression. He is also having "significant stress socially among his family members" and has been "ostracised and is facing increasing social isolation", said the lawyer.

He added that while the victim had said during the trial that he was traumatised for two to three days, he "went on to say that life went on as usual" and was not affected physically or mentally.

The criminal proceedings have taken a toll on the accused, said the lawyer, adding that he is remorseful and wants to apologise to the victim and all involved in the trial including the teachers and the victim's mother.

For molesting a minor, he could have been jailed for up to five years and fined.

SINGAPORE - A software engineer has been jailed for four weeks after he filmed another man performing a sexual act alone in a toilet at the Defence Science and Technology Agency (DSTA) building in Depot Road. Tan Xuan Yi, 27, who took 11 obscene clips of the man, pleaded guilty in a district court on Friday (May 28) to one charge under the Films Act. The court heard that on Nov 4, 2019, at 1.24pm, Tan was sitting in a cubicle in the male toilet on the second floor of the DSTA building when he heard the victim entering the next cubicle.

Tan heard what he believed to be the victim performing a sexual act and decided to record a video of the victim, for his own sexual gratification, said Deputy Public Prosecutor Andre Chong. Tan held his mobile phone under the bottom gap of the cubicle divider, and recorded 11 video clips, each four to 14 seconds long. Each of the clips captured the victim's exposed private parts. The victim did not notice he was being recorded.

Looks like during the investigation the police was able to identify the victim. Probably from the culprits phone.

Just think the police will knock at your office and come up to your desk inside your office and inform you that they captured a video of you on a handphone of a third person... (Not sure if the culprit was a colleague...)... scary... ha ha

SINGAPORE — A 59-year-old man was charged on Wednesday (June 9) with taking obscene photographs and videos of various other men from 2012 to 2019 on several occasions. Norman Chee Wei Kiong, who worked for the Housing and Development Board (HDB) at the time of his alleged offences, faces 14 charges. He was a director of housing finance at the statutory board in 2017, according to a forum letter in The Straits Times where he signed off in his professional capacity. In response to TODAY’s queries, HDB said that it was informed of the charges brought against its former employee and they are not related to his work with the board.

He is said to have taken images of unidentified men at Safra locker rooms. Some of the men were clad only in their underwear while some images revealed their genitals, court documents stated. He purportedly did this on five occasions in 2012, thrice in 2013 and once in 2018.

He allegedly filmed a man “drying himself with a towel which showed his genitals” on Dec 22, 2017 at a condominium complex in the River Valley area. He purportedly filmed another nude man at a locker room of Safra Mount Faber on Dec 31, 2018, and recorded a video of a man putting on his underwear at the same condominium on Sept 25, 2019. In addition, he was charged with possessing a voyeuristic or intimate image under Section 377BD of the Penal Code — a relatively new provision that kicked in early last year.   Intimate images refer to images of someone’s private areas such as breasts or genitals, whether bare or clothed, or images of someone performing a private act.

SINGAPORE - A student was given 30 months' probation on Wednesday (June 9) for molesting a schoolmate during a sleepover and filming a man in a campus gym toilet.

The 21-year-old, who cannot be named to protect the identity of the victims, pleaded guilty in February to one count each of molestation and voyeurism.

His first victim was a male schoolmate whom he met in 2017 when they both joined the school band.

They grew closer in 2018 after both became members of the band's executive committee.

On Aug 27, 2019, the victim had a sleepover at his friend's house, as they were supposed to report to school for a camp early the next day. Both slept on the same bed.

Some time the next morning, he pulled open the victim's pants and underwear to take a photo.

He also inserted his hand into the victim's underwear and molested him.

The victim later made a police report.

On the afternoon of Jan 13, 2020, the student was in a campus gym toilet when he heard someone showering.

He then placed his phone under the cubicle partition to film the man showering.

But the man spotted the phone and shouted, which led the student to retract his phone.

He quickly left the cubicle and entered another one about four to five doors away, where he deleted the video clip before running out of the gym.

The victim made a police report shortly thereafter.

Investigations found that the student had made similar recordings before but deleted them.

As part of his probation requirements, the 21-year-old will also have to perform 150 hours of community service. His father was also ordered to sign a $5,000 bond to ensure his son's good behaviour.

Ex-HDB director accused of taking image of man's buttocks while in Safra locker room

ST 10 June 2021

SINGAPORE - A former director with the Housing Board was in court on Wednesday (June 9) for allegedly having intimate images of men taken in different places including a Safra locker room.

Leo Norman Chee Wei Kiong, 59, faces 14 charges for various offences including being a public nuisance.

According to court documents, the Singaporean was caught at the NTUC FairPrice supermarket located at Block 71 Kallang Bahru on Oct 28 last year while in possession of a video of an unknown man's bare genital region.

The court heard that Chee’s mobile phone is said to have contained 146 obscene films that day.

It also emerged that he had allegedly committed public nuisance on multiple occasions at Safra locker rooms between 2012 and 2018.

Chee is accused of capturing images of men in various stages of undress - with most clad in only their underwear.

He allegedly caught an image of a man’s bare buttocks on two occasions.

In December 2012, Chee is said to have captured five images of a man which showed the latter’s genitals.

It was not mentioned which Safra buildings the locker rooms were located in. Court documents also do not state if the images were photographs or video clips.

Chee is also accused of making obscene films showing naked men on three occasions between 2017 and 2019.

He allegedly committed these offences at the Martin Place Residences condominium in Martin Place near River Valley Road and in a male locker room of Safra Mount Faber in Telok Blangah Way.

The Straits Times understands that Chee had voluntarily resigned from his position at HDB, where he was a housing finance director.

In a statement on Wednesday, HDB said it had been informed of the charges brought against its former employee, which it added are not related to his work.

"We are unable to comment further as the case is before the court," it added.

Chee's case has been adjourned to June 30.

For each charge of being a public nuisance, an offender can be jailed for up to three months and fined up to $2,000.

SINGAPORE - To escape punishment after he had violated a 14-year-old boy in 2005, Lim Leong Sze fled Singapore and was on the run for 10 years.

He absconded in 2010, shortly before he was to be charged for the offence, and was repatriated in February last year by the Malaysian authorities.

The 57-year-old Singaporean pleaded guilty in court on Friday (June 18) to one count of carnal intercourse against the order of nature under Section 377 of the Penal Code.
The court heard that Lim, who was a debt collector at the time of the offence, started talking to the Secondary 2 boy on Internet chat programme mIRC in September 2005, posing as a woman in her 20s under the moniker "Angel16".

The two later moved their conversation to MSN Messenger, where Lim asked the boy, who would be 30 years old this year, to perform a sex act in front of a webcam.

Thinking Lim was a woman, the boy complied. Lim secretly filmed him.

Deputy Public Prosecutor Chua Ying-Hong said the boy suspected something was wrong when he got a call on his home phone from an unidentified caller.

He asked Lim whether he was a boy or girl but Lim did not reply. Wary, the boy blocked Lim on MSN.

Lim called the victim again and told him that he had vide…
On Sept 25, 2005, Lim once again asked the boy to perform a sexual act in front of the webcam.

The boy refused and reported the matter to the police two days later. Lim was arrested on Sept 29, 2005.

Court documents did not state how Lim escaped, or how he was found by the authorities.

In mitigation, Lim's lawyer Wee Hong Shern said no force or violence had been used on the victim and Lim's scheme did not involve a great deal of sophistication.

He added that Lim is remorseful and wants to turn over a new leaf.

Lim is due to be sentenced on July 12.

Man, 60, jailed for performing sexual act on teen he considered his own grandson

  • Published 5 hours ago = ST 22 June 2021

SINGAPORE - A 60-year-old man befriended his grandson's friend, 14, by meeting him almost daily to give him life advice.

The boy's father even told the man to keep advising his son and the man responded that he thought of the boy as his own grandchild.

But the man performed a sexual act on the boy at a staircase landing in January last year.

On Tuesday (June 22), the man was sentenced to 20 months' jail on one charge of penetration of a child under the age of 16 while they were in an exploitative relationship. One other similar charge was taken into consideration for his sentencing.

The man cannot be named to protect the boy's identity.

The man was represented by lawyer Ng Pei Qi, who told the court that her client had "misjudged the relationship and thought it was a friendship where they (could) give each other sexual (favours)".

The court heard that the man met the boy in November or December 2019 when the man was picking his grandson up from school.

He offered the boy a cigarette and the pair started talking and the man asked for the boy's phone number.

They met six times a week for about three hours each time, during which the victim would occasionally ask the man to buy him cigarettes.

"The victim trusted and respected the accused, as the accused would frequently give him 'good advice' — such as not to skip school, or not to be rude to his parents," Deputy Public Prosecutor Eugene Teh told the court.

The victim's father met the man sometime in January last year and asked the man to advise the victim and his younger brother.

The man agreed to do so and told the victim's father that he treated the boys "as his own grandchildren", the court heard.

On Jan 19 that year, the man met the victim at a void deck to talk and smoke.

He then took the boy to a staircase landing where he asked if he could perform a sexual act on the boy.

The boy refused but the man persisted and removed the victim's pants and performed a sexual act on him for about 30 seconds.

The victim kept silent and did not react as he did not know what to do.

On Feb 29 last year, the victim was giving his statement at a police station for a separate incident and told the officers that he had been sexually assaulted by the man.

DPP Teh urged the court to sentence the man to 20 to 24 months in jail, citing the exploitative relationship and the large age gap between the man and the boy.

DPP Teh urged the court to sentence the man to 20 to 24 months in jail, citing the exploitative relationship and the large age gap between the man and the boy.

Horny old man! Why go disturb the poor boy sia?!

Youth got his 2 half-brothers to perform sex act on him on separate occasions Shaffiq Alkhatib Court Correspondent

SINGAPORE - A youth was at his mother's home last year when he instructed one of his two half-brothers, aged eight and 10, to perform a sex act on him. On another occasion, he got the other boy to do it too. The offender and the two victims have the same mother but different fathers. The 20-year-old pleaded guilty in a district court on Wednesday (June 23) to two counts of procuring the commission of an obscene act from a child.

Deputy Public Prosecutor Bryan Wong said the offender went to his mother's home some time in August or September last year and played a video game with the older boy. The 10-year-old child was about to walk out of a room after losing a game when his half-brother grabbed his hand. The victim was then told to touch the youth's private parts as he had lost the game. The offender also offered to give the boy $5 to perform the act. The court heard that the child relented as he felt that the youth looked intimidating. The boy, who felt "disgusted and scared" after performing the act, declined to take the money when offered. Instead, he ran towards their mother in the living room and told her about what had happened.

Court documents do not state what took place next but the offender visited his mother's home again on Sept 5 last year. The eight-year-old boy was inside a room when he was told to touch the youth's genitals. The DPP said: "Despite refusing at first, (the boy) agreed to do so due to the accused's persistence." The child left the room soon after and told their mother about the incident. The victims' father lodged a police report on Sept 16 last year. On Wednesday, District Judge May Mesenas called for reports to assess the offender's suitability for both probation and reformative training.

SINGAPORE - A man with borderline intelligence was jailed for 42 months for performing sex acts on young boys.

The 21-year-old, who cannot be named as he was friends with the victims, pleaded guilty on Monday (June 28) to four charges of sexual penetration of a minor under the age of 16.

Another 28 charges were taken into consideration. These included other charges of sexual penetration, sexual exploitation of a child and sending obscene images to a child.

From mid-2018 to end-2019, the man, who was a part-time deliveryman, had performed sex acts with three victims at various locations more than 20 times, including staircase landings and a public toilet.

Two of the victims were aged 12 at the time, and the third was 13 years old.

A fourth victim was not involved in any sex acts with the man, but had received an obscene photograph from him.

The court heard that the man became friends with the victims through other mutual friends and they shared common interests such as fishing, e-biking and cycling.

The boys had agreed to the sex acts, but one of them had later cut off communication with the man.

It was not revealed in court how the man's offences had come to light.

He appeared via video in court on Monday, and was seen covering his face with his hand as details of his offences were read out in court.

A woman believed to be related to him was also seen crying in the public gallery.

Two other men, who are believed to be also related to the man, were seen with reddened eyes as the court proceedings went on.

Deputy Public Prosecutor Eugene Teh urged the court to jail the man for 45 months.

The DPP said the many offences were committed over a span of 1½ years and were not isolated incidents.

Defence lawyer Marshall Lim asked the court for a sentence of not more than 39 months.

He said his client had a borderline range of intelligence, and was diagnosed with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder and anger management issues.

He added that the man had been exempted from national service because of this.

Mr Lim said the man had surrendered himself at a neighbourhood police centre in January last year, before he turned 21, and accepted responsibility for his actions.

District Judge Teoh Ai Lin said she noted the circumstances raised by Mr Lim, but agreed with the prosecution that deterrence needed to be the primary sentencing consideration because the offences involved four young boys, and there were many charges which had to be taken into consideration.

She backdated the sentence to Jan 15, 2020, when he was remanded.

The judge instructed that a copy of the man's psychiatric report be handed to the prison, so that he could receive appropriate care and treatment for his disorder while in jail.

For each count of sexual penetration of a minor under the age of 16, the man could have been jailed for up to 20 years and fined and caned.

SINGAPORE - A man woke up his eight-year-old stepson while the child was sleeping with two of his siblings and showed him a pornographic video involving two men.

The man then fondled the boy's private parts before making the child touch himself.

The 39-year-old Singaporean offender pleaded guilty on Wednesday (June 30) to committing an indecent act with a child and was sentenced to a year's jail.

He cannot be named due to a gag order to protect the victim's identity.

Deputy Public Prosecutor Colin Ng said that the man married the child's mother around April 2017.

The couple and the woman's five children then lived in a flat at the northern part of Singapore.

The victim was sleeping in a bedroom some time in May 2019 when his stepfather woke him up and showed him the obscene video.

The man then committed the offences on the boy before leaving the room.

According to court documents, the offender was later sent to jail for unrelated drug-related offences.

The boy finally told his mother about his ordeal on May 25 last year. Shocked, the 33-year-old woman alerted the police two days later.

When investigated, the man said that he was "high on drugs" when he committed the offence.

On Wednesday, DPP Ng told the court that the case involved a "blatant and egregious breach of trust".

He added: "The accused was the victim's stepfather, and had unbridled access to the victim.

"Our courts would be grievously remiss if they did not send an unequivocal and uncompromising message to all would-be sex offenders that abusing a relationship or a position of authority in order to gratify sexual impulse will inevitably be met with the harshest penal consequences."

For committing an indecent act on a child, a first-time offender can be jailed for up to five years and fined up to $10,000.

A repeat offender can be jailed for up to seven years and fined up to $20,000.

SINGAPORE - The police are investigating a man who threatened violence against the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer (LGBTQ) community here in a video live-streamed over Instagram.

In response to queries from The Straits Times, the police confirmed on Saturday (July 3) that a report was lodged, adding that a 23-year-old man is helping with police investigations for causing alarm by threatening means.

The profanity-laden video has attracted more than 54,000 views on Instagram account Wake Up Singapore.

In the video, a bespectacled man threatens to "whack" people from the LGBTQ community and to instigate a "riot" and a "gang clash" at Pink Dot SG, an annual rally that shows support for the LGBTQ community.

He adds that he will be "the reason why LGBT will no longer exist in Singapore" and will "make sure" the rally does not take place next year, among other threats.

In a statement on Facebook on Friday, LGBTQ non-profit movement Pink Dot SG said it was aware of the video circulating online and that the authorities have been notified about the video.

The post said that the group is gravely concerned by these threats, adding that the LGBTQ community continues to face discrimination in their daily lives and it takes "great pains to ensure that the event is a safe environment for all participants".

It also urged the public not to share the video online as "it contains potentially distressing content" as well as to "refrain from exposing the identities of those involved".

Gone are the days when women were the sole entities to fear walking on the streets.

Men, or more frequently boys, have too, been targeted for reasons such as carnal desires.

And it seems that no relation is truly safe too, seeing how in the following instance…

A stepfather scenario has occurred as well.

Man Who ‘Played’ With 8YO Stepson & Made Him Watch Porn Sentenced to 1 Year’s Jail

According to The Straits Timesa 39-year-old Singaporean has been sentenced to one year’s imprisonment for molesting his eight-year-old stepson.

The indecent act was reportedly committed back in 2019.

According to the news report, the victim was resting in a bedroom in May 2019 when his stepfather woke him up.

Unlike family serials, the latter proceeded to show the former rather inappropriate content:

A pornographic video involving two men.

After showing the clip, the older man proceeded to fondle the boy’s private parts, before making the child touch himself.

The former then left the room.

It’s stated that the offence only came to light in May 2020, when the boy informed his mother about the incident.

The 33-year-old woman proceeded to file a police report two days later.

After investigations, it was revealed that the man was purportedly “high on drugs” at the time of the offence.

He was later sent to jail for unrelated drug offences.

Sentencing

In court, Deputy Public Prosecutor Colin Ng was clear that the case entailed a “blatant and egregious breach of trust”

“The accused was the victim’s stepfather, and had unbridled access to the victim,” he said.

He added that such scenarios required stern action.

“Our courts would be grievously remiss if they did not send an unequivocal and uncompromising message to all would-be sex offenders that abusing a relationship or a position of authority in order to gratify sexual impulse will inevitably be met with the harshest penal consequences.”

The man was subsequently sentenced to a year’s jail.

For practicing an indecent act on a child, a first-time offender could face a jail term of up to five years and a fine of up to S$10,000.

A repeat offender could face up to seven years in prison and a fine of up to S$20,000.

Similar Instances

As mentioned above, cases of young boys being molested are getting more and more prevalent.

Back in May 2021, a 74-year-old man was sentenced to one-and-a-half years’ jail for molesting an underage boy. He had pleaded guilty to molesting the child and also making the boy perform a sexual act on him.

And in April 2021, 21-year-old Malaysian Clement Tan Jun Yan was sentenced to 18 months in jail on the same day for molesting two underage males.

On Tuesday (4 May), a 74-year-old man was sentenced to one-and-a-half years’ jail for molesting an underage boy. He had pleaded guilty to molesting the child and also making the boy perform a sexual act on him.

Tok Chon Chey was a gardener at a condominium where the seven-year-old victim lived with his father. According to The Straits Times, Tok knew the victim for at least two years before his offences and they would greet each other when they met.

Details about the victim and the condominium cannot be disclosed due to a gag order to protect his identity.

Previously, Tok had been arrested in 2013 for another case of molesting an 11-year-old boy and had served his past sentence.

What Happened

On 21 March 2019, Tok saw the victim and offered the boy $2 to buy some ice cream. He also told the victim to meet him at a barbecue pit in the condominium two days later.

However, the boy had declined his offer and money.

Two days later, on 23 March at around 10:30am, Tok then saw the boy again and beckoned him over. He then carried the child and placed him on his lap.

Tok proceeded to suddenly kiss the victim on the lips while they were chatting.

One of the boy’s neighbours initially saw what had happened but continued walking towards the exit of the condominium and left the property. She later decided to walk back to the condominium after feeling uneasy about the whole situation.

The 74-year-old then touched the boy’s private parts with his hand and made the child perform a sexual act on him.

At that moment, the 45-year-old neighbour finally reached the duo and immediately approached the old man, “ask[ing] the accused if he thought what he was doing was right,” said Deputy Public Prosecutor Nicholas Lai.

At that point, the child then walked towards the witness and stood behind her.

Tok began to appeal to the witness not to report what had transpired.

Thankfully, the woman brushed aside his pleas and took the child to the condominium guardhouse, reporting the matter to a security supervisor. The boy’s parents were also contacted and his father also lodged a police report on the same day.

For molesting a child below 14 years old, an offender can be jailed for up to five years and fined or caned. However, Tok cannot be caned as he is over 50 years old.

On Thursday (1 Apr), 21-year-old Malaysian Clement Tan Jun Yan was sentenced to 18 months in jail on the same day for molesting two underage males.

The young man pleaded guilty to two counts of molestation involving two boys and another two similar charges were considered during his sentencing, reported CNA.

He had followed his first victim—a 15-year-old boy—home from Yishun Bus Interchange after taking a liking to him. He sat next to the boy on the bus.

They alighted near a block of flats in Yishun, to which Tan proceeded to molest him. When the boy was about the exit the lift, Tan blocked the way and touched the victim’s genitals over his shorts.

Deputy Public Prosecutor (DPP) Niranjan Ranjakunalan pointed out that the offence was caught on CCTV footage.

The boy tried to push the 21-year-old away and asked what he was doing. Reportedly, he had apologised.

He then left the vicinity soon after.

The victim had told his parents about the incident and lodged a police report on 3 August 2020. Tan was arrested soon after on 5 August.

Second Incident

He was actually out on bail when he molested a 13-year-old boy later that year.

On 23 October at about 6:50 am, Tan boarded the same bus as the victim, who was on the way to school.

Just like his first victim, Tan sat next to the secondary schoolboy on the bus. He also placed his hand on the boy’s shoulder. When his hand was pushed away, he draped his left arm around the boy’s shoulder instead.

When the victim stood up to leave his seat, Tan squeezed his buttocks over his clothes. He repeated it a second time when the young boy was walking away.

He moved to the rear door of the bus and Tan followed him, eventually alighting while he stayed on the bus.

In school, the victim reported the incident to his form teacher and a police report was filed the same morning.

No Mental Illness But Had Hebephilia

DPP Niranjan noted that Tan had admitted about his “sexual interest” towards “young males who are mainly in the secondary school age group”. The accused told the court that his inability to control his desires arose from his “stress” at work.

According to a medical report by a doctor from the Institute of Mental Health (IMH), Tan had also viewed pornographic material involving young males above 13 years of age.

The report also mentioned that while Tan did not have any mental illnesses, he did have a sexual interest in pubescent children in their early adolescence, known as hebephilia.

As such, Tan was not of unsound mind when he committed his offences and was fit to plead in court.

Two similar charges linked to other victims, also teenagers, were considered during Tan’s sentencing.

SINGAPORE - A Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) officer was in an ambulance parked at a fire station last October when he allegedly molested a male colleague.

The 61-year-old Singaporean man who appeared in a district court on Thursday (July 😎 is now accused of two counts of molestation and a harassment charge.

The SCDF told The Straits Times in a statement on Friday that the man, who was a contract officer, left the agency last November.

Details about the man, the alleged victim and the fire station cannot be revealed due to a gag order.

The alleged offender is accused of kissing the man's lips in the parked ambulance at around 8.50am on Oct 31 last year.

He is said to have committed a similar act on the man about five minutes later.

The alleged offender is also accused of making "insulting communication" by inviting the man over to his "place to enjoy".

The 61-year-old man's bail was set at $10,000 on Thursday and he is expected to plead guilty to his offences on Aug 18.

In its statement, the SCDF said that it takes a very serious view of the incident.

It added: "Upon being alerted that such an incident might have taken place, we immediately conducted an internal investigation. We promptly lodged a police report after our investigation, and removed the alleged offender from duties and placed him on administrative leave pending police investigation.

"We also provided counselling to the alleged victim... SCDF is unable to comment further, as court proceedings are ongoing."

For each count of molestation, an offender can be jailed for up to two years and fined or caned. The man cannot be caned, as he is over 50 years old.

SINGAPORE - Despite being jailed previously for molesting a man on the MRT, a 41-year-old went on to commit a similar offence years after he was released from prison.

Chew Yeow Keong also targeted a 12-year-old boy this year by insulting his modesty.

For his offences, Chew was sentenced on Friday (July 9) to 17 weeks in jail.

He pleaded guilty to one charge each of outraging and insulting a person's modesty.

A third charge, for dishonest misappropriation of property, was taken into consideration during sentencing.

The court heard that Chew was working as a GrabFood delivery rider when he committed the offences.

He molested his first victim, a male teenager, on Aug 12, 2019.

The victim, who was 18 at the time, had boarded the train at Lorong Chuan MRT station.

He saw Chew, who was also on the train, wink once at him, but ignored the man.

Chew later got up from his seat and stood beside the victim. He stretched out his hand and touched the teenager's left buttock cheek over his clothes in a caressing motion.

Shocked, the victim turned around and saw Chew retracting his arm. The teenager quickly alighted from the train and made a police report the next day.

Chew targeted the 12-year-old boy on the night of March 10 this year. The victim is now 13.

The boy was on his way home after a football session at Our Tampines Hub when Chew approached him and asked if he could perform a sex act on the victim.

The child quickly walked away but subsequently ran home after noticing Chew was still staring at him.

He later mentioned the incident to his mother, who made a police report.

The court heard that there was no physical contact between Chew and the boy.

Deputy Public Prosecutor Joseph Gwee urged the court to jail Chew for between 15 and 20 weeks for his molestation offence, noting that he had been convicted of similar offences in 2002 and 2016.

Chew was jailed for six months and given three strokes of the cane in 2002. He was jailed for 10 weeks in 2016 after molesting a man on the MRT.

But the prosecutor highlighted that the degree of sexual exploitation for the present offence was low, Chew's touch was not prolonged and there was no skin-to-skin contact.

He also asked the court to fine Chew for insulting the modesty of the boy.

But Chew's lawyer, Mr S. S. Dhillon, said his client had no money and asked for a jail term instead.

Magistrate Hairul Hakkim Kuthibutheen backdated Chew's sentence to March 19 this year, when he was first remanded.

For outraging the modesty of an individual, Chew could have been sentenced to jail for up to two years, or fined, or caned, or any combination of the punishments.

He could also have been jailed for up to a year, or fined, or both, for insulting the modesty of a person.

SINGAPORE - A primary school teacher appeared in a district court on Friday (July 9), accused of molesting a boy at his workplace multiple times in 2017 and 2018.

The 42-year-old Singaporean was handed five molestation charges in total.

Details about the teacher, the boy and the school cannot be revealed because of a gag order.

In a statement to The Straits Times, the Ministry of Education (MOE) said the man has been suspended from duty since November 2018 when the police investigation started.

He is said to have first targeted the boy, who was then around 10 to 11 years old, in the school some time in late 2017.

According to court documents, the man allegedly touched the child's private parts over his shorts.

He is accused of committing a similar act on the boy four more times between March and October 2018.

The ministry added in its statement: "MOE takes a serious view of staff misconduct and will not hesitate to take disciplinary action against those who fail to adhere to our standards of conduct and discipline, including dismissal from service."

The man was offered bail of $15,000 on Friday and his case has been adjourned to Aug 5.

For each count of molesting a child below 14 years old, an offender can be jailed for up to five years, fined or caned, or given any combination of such punishments.

Guest Dancing Around A Long Pole

Why are there so many cases of molesters in the news lately? It is really disgusting, and no matter what anybody else says, the general public automatically condemns the entire LGBTQ+ community due to the immoral actions of those filthy individuals. This is completely unfair to all lawful members of the LGBTQ+ community.

Even worse, the latest offenders are people who should otherwise be trustworthy, such as stepfathers, school teachers, and SCDF officers. Something needs to be done to stop this depraved wave before innocent members of the LGBTQ+ community end up suffering from the inevitable backlash toward this awful epidemic!

SINGAPORE — After blackmailing a 14-year-old boy with an obscene video and sexually abusing him, Lim Leong Sze fled the country and remained overseas for a decade. He was finally nabbed by Malaysian authorities early last year and repatriated to Singapore.

On Monday (July 12), the 57-year-old Singaporean was jailed for five-and-a-half years. This was backdated to Feb 14 last year when he was first held in remand. The victim, now aged 30, cannot be named due to a court order to protect his identity. He was a Secondary 2 student at the time he met Lim in September

WHAT HAPPENED

The court heard that Lim, who worked as a debt collector, had initiated a conversation with the victim on online chat platform MIRC. He told the boy that he was a Chinese woman in her 20s and the boy replied that he was 14 years old. They soon moved to chatting on MSN messaging platform, where Lim asked the boy to show his face through a webcam. The boy did so and Lim asked him to strip naked. He refused, saying his father was home and that he would do it later. When the boy’s father left the house, he went back to chatting with Lim, who again asked to see his nude body and asked him to masturbate.

Thinking that Lim was a woman, the boy complied. Lim then secretly filmed him. Afterwards, Lim told the boy that he had filmed him and that he would send the video to him as proof. Lim also threatened to post the video online or tell the boy’s father unless he did it again. After the boy gave in to Lim’s demands, Lim asked the boy to be his “brother” and go out with him. The boy agreed out of fear of Lim posting the video. Later that day, they went to the Geylang area where Lim showed the victim the video clip and another obscene video, which he had saved in his mobile phone. He then took the victim to his office along Guillemard Road near Geylang.

Lim soon got the boy to massage his back before sexually violating him. When the boy told him that he was uncomfortable, they got dressed. Lim took him to a pub before sending him home, while also offering him a mobile phone and money. The next day, the pair met online once more. Lim asked the boy to masturbate in front of the webcam again but he refused. The boy reported the matter to the police two days later. Lim was arrested soon after, but fled Singapore in 2010 just before he was to be charged.

Those convicted of committing carnal intercourse against the order of nature can be jailed for life or jailed for up to 10 years and fined.

SINGAPORE - A male teacher who remained close to one of his former pupils after the boy left primary school ended up molesting the 12-year-old during a sleepover.

The boy was also his "godson" whom he had supported financially.

On Monday (July 12), District Judge John Ng found the man guilty of two counts of molestation following a trial.

The Singaporean, now 36, was also convicted of one count of attempted molestation.

He had been suspended from service since July 2017 and no longer teaches in any school.

Details about the man, the boy and the school cannot be revealed because of a gag order.

The man used to be the victim's Primary 6 form teacher who taught the class English, mathematics and science in 2016.

Deputy Public Prosecutor Lim Ying Min said the pair had a "normal teacher-student relationship" at the time.

However, they met outside the school three times that year.

On one occasion, the man took the boy and his friend to Universal Studios Singapore theme park. On the boy's birthday, the man surprised him with a cake and a present.

The DPP said: "After the release of his PSLE (Primary School Leaving Examination) results, the accused went to the victim's house to help him with his selection of secondary school... It was around this period of time that the victim and the accused grew closer.

"Throughout 2016, it was undisputed that the accused played a huge role in motivating the victim in his studies."

The court also heard that the boy had been raised by a single mother and he never had a father figure in his life before the teacher came into his life.

The boy agreed to become the teacher's godson in early 2017 as he felt the man was "sincere" and cared for him.

The pair grew close and texted each other every day. The man also supported the boy financially.

The boy eventually went to the man's flat for a sleepover during the 2017 June school holidays.

The DPP told the court: "Unfortunately, the sleepover turned into the proverbial house of horror when the accused sexually violated him."

The man touched the boy's private parts twice on June 15 that year and tried to commit a similar offence against him the next day.

When he got back home, the boy told his mother what had happened and said he wanted to report the matter to the police.

But the mother stopped him from doing so.

The boy finally told a school counsellor when classes resumed on June 27 that year, and the police were alerted.

The man's bail was set at $15,000 on Monday and he will be sentenced on Aug 19.

For each count of molesting a child below the age of 14, an offender can be jailed for up to five years and fined or caned.

A Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) officer was in an ambulance parked at a fire station last October when he allegedly molested a male colleague.

Don't understand why he never go to saunas to release his urge.

Most of them seem pedophile, they seek under - age boys, you don't find them in sauna. They are not attracted to adult men.

Not sure if there is psychological treatment for them, if not the cycle will go on and on.

In Western countries they will use suppressants to reduce the sexual urge and place such offenders into a treatment program. Just bringing them in and out of jail won't resolve their mental issue.

SINGAPORE - A 64-year-old man targeted his neighbours' son and daughter, getting them to perform oral sex on him in exchange for money and cigarettes.

He started exploiting the boy in 2016 - when he was 13 - before setting his sights on the girl a year later when she was of the same age.

All three cannot be named due to a gag order to protect the victims' identities.

The man pleaded guilty on Monday (July 26) to four charges for sexually penetrating a minor under 14.

Eleven other charges will be taken into consideration during sentencing at a later date. These include four for exhibiting pornographic videos to a person under 21.

The court heard that the man was working as a dishwasher and lived alone in a Housing Board flat.

He became acquainted with the victims through their father, who would occasionally invite him to their unit in the same block.

The man would drink with the victims' parents and ask them for cigarettes.

Some time in the first half of 2016, the boy visited the man's flat. He had done so before on two occasions to get cigarettes.

The two then smoked and watched pornography on a laptop, before the man asked the boy for oral sex. When the teenager complied, the man gave him $20 and cigarettes, and told him not to tell anyone.

The boy did the same act again in mid-2016. He had gone to the flat as he knew that the man would offer money and cigarettes for sexual services, the court heard.

In May 2017, the other victim went to the flat for cigarettes. She heard from her brother that the man had previously given him some.

The man asked the girl to remove her shirt after they smoked together.

She did not want to do so but later complied when he repeatedly insisted.

He squeezed her breasts and got her to perform oral sex.

The man passed her $40 and told her not to tell anyone.

She repeated what she did a few days later, and received cigarettes and $50.

The offences were discovered during investigations following an unrelated police report made by the girl on Nov 2, 2019. She alleged that her father raped her.

On Monday, Justice Aedit Abdullah called for a report assessing the man's suitability for preventive detention - a regime for recalcitrant offenders that does not offer the usual one-third remission for good behaviour.

Deputy public prosecutors (DPPs) Victoria Ting and Kevin Ho had urged the court to do so in their submissions, adding that a detailed psychiatric assessment of the man's risk of reoffending would help in determining the appropriate sentence.

They highlighted the man's long criminal history - which started when he was 15 and included drug-related offences and robbery - and argued that he had an inclination to reoffend.

The DPPs noted that his current offences were similar to the ones he committed in 1999, in which he lured a boy to an empty building, molested him and tried to get him to perform oral sex. He was given five years of corrective training with six strokes of the cane.

Said the DPPs: "There is genuine concern that, given the opportunity, the accused may again sexually exploit vulnerable minors to satisfy his sexual desires."

Offenders guilty of sexually penetrating a person under 14 can be jailed for up to 20 years, and caned or fined. The man cannot be caned as he is above 50 years old.

SINGAPORE: Three men plotted to extort money from a married businessman after one of them secretly filmed the victim engaging in sex acts with another man.

Tan Yong Jian, 24, was in charge of threatening the victim with leaking the videos if he did not pay S$60,000, an amount he later adjusted down to S$50,000.

Tan was sentenced on Tuesday (Jul 27) to three years and ten months' jail.

He pleaded guilty to one charge each of criminal intimidation by anonymous communication, possession of drugs and methamphetamine consumption.

Another two charges were considered in sentencing.

His co-accused are 23-year-old Daryn Ho Yong Jian, and the victim's employee, named only as B2 in court documents.

The court heard that B2 secretly installed a closed-circuit television camera on top of a bookshelf in his boss' house in late-2019.

He set the camera to motion notification mode, which would allow an application on his phone to alert him if someone was in the room. He would then be able to view what was happening in his boss' room in real-time and make a recording of it.

B2 left the camera in his boss' home for about three weeks. He viewed and recorded his boss engaging in sexual activity with another man on at least five occasions, and saved the videos on his phone.

On Mar 9, 2020, B2, Tan and Ho were having a gathering at Ho's house when they began talking about B2's boss.

THE PLOT

B2 showed the videos he had taken of his boss to Tan and Ho. They knew that the victim was "a person of means" and decided to use the videos to extort money from him, said the prosecutor.

They decided to split the money, with B2 receiving half of it as he was the one with the videos, and Tan and Ho getting another 25 per cent each.

B2 then sent the videos to his conspirators, but he and Ho later deleted the videos to avoid detection, leaving Tan as the only one possessing the videos.

They planned to get an unregistered SIM card and use Ho's spare phone to send the videos anonymously to the victim, setting up a group chat called Heist on Telegram to discuss the plan further.

Later that same day, the trio met up at Ho's home again and tried to send the victim a message using Ho's spare phone.

However, they could not access the phone and Tan used his personal phone instead, inserting the unregistered SIM card into his device.

THE TEXTS TO B2'S BOSS

At 7.11pm on Mar 9, 2020, Tan sent the victim three of the videos. He said: "Hi (victim), I have some videos and pictures at my disposal that I think will be of interest to you."

The victim did not reply.

After more than two hours, Tan sent him another message: "I guess these videos doesn't interest you as much as I thought it would. Guess I'll just share it?"

The victim did not respond that day, nor the next three days. The trio discussed how to proceed and decided to ask for S$60,000 in cash from the victim.

At 7.14pm on Mar 12, 2020, Tan sent the victim a message: "60k for these videos and pictures to be deleted and not leaked. Let me know your decision."

THE VICTIM FINALLY REPLIES

The victim finally replied at 8.42pm that day, saying: "What you're doing is so wrong, whoever you are."

He added unhappy-face emojis, and said he was prepared to work with the requester but said the amount was too much.

"I am owing banks lots especially during COVID where all my businesses are losing money badly. But if really promise as above, I may need time and can squeeze out maybe S$50k but you have to keep your word and how will I know (it's completely) removed? And now I'm very busy with a meeting for next 2 hours plus so can't reply."

The trio read the reply and agreed to accept the proposed sum of S$50,000. They discussed the delivery of the money and came up with a tentative plan for the victim to take the cash to Bukit Panjang and leave it there for Ho to collect.

At 9.54pm that day, Tan replied: "I understand that because of the virus the economy is indeed affected. Let's say if it's at 50k, I would want the amount in cash tomorrow."

He "gave his word" that the videos would not be circulated and there would not be any more demands.

At 9.24am on Mar 13, 2020, Tan sent the victim reminders to deliver the money that day.

Meanwhile, the victim suspected that the videos had been filmed by one of his personal assistants who had access to his house.

He had already lodged a police report three days before, saying he received an anonymous text message and videos of himself captured by a camera in his room.

The police nabbed the trio on Mar 13, 2020, the day the victim was supposed to hand over the money. They were charged in court the next day and their electronic devices were seized.

RELEASED ON BAIL, BUT TRIED AGAIN

While Tan was out on bail, he tried to extort the victim again with another co-accused person, Mahadevan Edwyn. Tan instructed Edwyn on what to do, asking for S$50,000, but the victim flagged the matter to the police.

Tan was arrested at his house in September, and his urine samples showed that he had consumed methamphetamine.

Meth was also found on him, and he admitted to buying 5g of it from a friend for S$100.

Tan was previously convicted of possessing and consuming drugs in October 2015. At that time, he was sentenced to reformative training.

The cases for his co-accused are pending.

The penalties for criminal intimidation are a jail term of up to two years, a fine, or both. If the offence was committed by anonymous communication, the offender can be liable for a maximum of another two years' jail.

SINGAPORE — After discovering his friend had secretly filmed his married boss having sex with another man several times, Tan Yong Jian hatched a plan to blackmail the 53-year-old boss for S$50,000. After plotting with two friends, including the one who had recorded the videos, Tan sent multiple threatening text messages to the victim, but his plans were scuppered when the authorities were informed. After Tan was charged in court, he tried to extort money from his friend’s boss again but failed. On Tuesday (July 27), the 24-year-old Singaporean was sentenced to three years and 10 months’ jail after pleading guilty to criminal intimidation by anonymous communication and drug-related offences.

The court heard that one of the conspirators — the victim’s subordinate, identified as B2 — had secretly installed a closed-circuit television camera on top of a bookshelf in the victim’s house sometime in late 2019. B2 would get a notification on a mobile application if someone was in the room and trigger the camera. He could then view what was going in in real time and record the acts through the app. He left the camera there for about three weeks and recorded the victim engaging in sexual activity with another man in the room at least five times. He saved the videos on his mobile phone. On March 9 last year, Tan, B2 and their friend, a 23-year-old named Daryn Ho Yong Jian, were at Ho’s house when they began talking about the victim. They decided to extort him when B2 showed the others the videos he had taken. The trio initially could not decide on how much money to demand from him but agreed that B2 would receive half of the sum for taking the videos while Tan and Ho would get 25 per cent each. B2 then sent the videos and the victim’s contact number to Tan and Ho. B2 and Ho later deleted the videos to avoid detection but Tan did not. The trio then got an unregistered SIM card to use to contact the victim, and set up a group chat called “Heist” on the messaging platform Telegram to discuss their plans. ‘I HAVE SOME VIDEOS AND PICTURES’ Later that day, Tan used the unregistered SIM card on his phone and sent the victim three of the videos. He wrote: “Hi (victim’s name), I have some videos and pictures at my disposal that I think will be of interest to you.”  When the victim did not respond, Tan sent him another message two hours later and threatened to share the videos. Meanwhile, the victim suspected that one of his personal assistants who had access to his home had recorded the videos and filed a police report the next day. He continued ignoring Tan’s messages, so the trio decided to demand S$60,000 from him on March 12. He replied shortly after, saying what they were doing “is so wrong, whoever you are” but that he was prepared to work with them.  He added that S$60,000 was too much as his businesses were bleeding due to the pandemic, but that he could hand over S$50,000 if given some time. The three of them decided to accept this offer. Tan then gave the victim his word that he would not circulate the videos if the victim handed over the cash the next day. The police subsequently arrested Tan, Ho and B2 on March 13. Tan was released on bail but tried to extort the victim again through another man, Edwyn Mahadevan, aged 28. Tan gave Edwyn the victim’s contact number and instructions on how to extort him. The victim then reported the matter to the police. Tan was arrested again at his home several months later, on Sept 28, and admitted to having smoked methamphetamine in his bedroom. He also admitted to buying 5g of the controlled drug from a friend for S$100. For criminal intimidation by anonymous communication, he could have been jailed for up to two years.
