leading basic till about 3.6k, ifs basic till about 4.1k

for flights more than 14 hrs, they get 2.5x ifa per hr. one single trip to and fro london, leading can earn about 990, ifs about 1.3k

lma tied to 5 star or 4 star hotel menus.

few other small allowances plus bonus (end of calendar depending on sq performance)

ifs can get 10k though not every month, leading can hit once in awhile.

gd pay for seniors who are normally not as educated as the junior crew, but juniors turnover rate is super high esp degree grads.

eh... don't talk cock le! they have never earn more than 10k a month, so either your sources are blatantly lying to you or you're just making it up!

FYI, the stewards and stewardesses usually earns on average 4.5k to 5k a month and if you have two or even three long flights, maybe can hit 6k or slightly more. for those leading crew, inflight allowance and basic pay more but meal allowance still the same.. so slightly more although most times they earn slightly lesser than the junior crew. chief can earn about 6k and ifs about 7k. it's usually those old birds (ifs only) who may earn more than 8k or even more and that is after they stay with the company for 20 over years!

anyway, if you want to fly and earn more, please do it with sq, don't go budget la. unless you cmi la. I know a few fuglies and shorties in jetstar, although it is not to insinuate that sq crew all gorgeous and all. you do get your fair share of fuglies and especially now when even the senior crew are lamenting on the quality of the newbies.

whatever it is, if you feel you fit the bill, go for the sq one.

So wrong here, I just took Jetstar international back from Melbourne and met some cute cabin crew on board ,infact I find most sq male crew looks like a typical uncle type. I was told also that some ex crew from premium airlines like sq n cx are flying for Jetstar after earning or saving much , and not joining them because they cmi elsewhere, it's more of they are in demand in the industry, I guess it is just your luck to meet good or bad ones in all airlines...

Jetstar pay is pathetic. First year basic is $650. Second year on is $850. Each hour flight pay is $3. Turn around flight has no overnight pay. Each overnight stay is $50 and Japan is $75. Take home usually around $2k.

Wow , Australians and Canadians in flight crew are making tonnes of money, I am so happy for them

You are unaware of the high taxes in Canada. Personal income tax would be 35%. Then you have federal and provincal sales taxes that are an additional 15% when you go and spend your money. If you go to a restaurant then you will add an additonal tip for service of 10% to 15%. So, if you eat out at a restaurant, before you even pay for the food, tax and tip has already eaten up 60% to 65% of every dollar you have earned. Do you still think they are better off than Singaporeans?

Don't blame Jetstar; blame the consumer who demands the lowest ticket prices.

All it is is human greed and selfishness. It's the fear people feel of not having enough. This is the greatest challenge that faces humanity today and I don't envision it getting any better in my lifetime.

You are flying a budget airline, like all budget airlines, passengers can pay peanuts or free depending on the promotion, budget airlines cut unnecessary costs , so that they can come up with the low low low fares that passengers like, as a passenger if I am paying S$1006 for a non discounted airticket on Premium SQ airline versus about    S$ 550 on budget airline return ticket on Scoot air, it will still get me to Brisbane, it will still fly in an Airplane,

but the difference is this , SQor any full fare premium airlines can pay more to their IN flight crew, because passengers pay for a newer hence "safer "  plane, the inflight entertainment is built into the chair seat infront of you, you get cleaner toilets with extras like toilet paper, tissue paper, better hand wipes, hand moisturiser, face moisturiser, free flow of soft drinks and wine, you can drink until they run out, or your bladder bursts, snacks are included like nuts, you can ask for refill, there is lotsa magazines newspaper to read, you can play games on the IFE, more choices, the stewardess and stewards are more poise, elegant and attractive, you pay for the whole experience and if you need extra assistance, eg you need wheel chair to transported on board the plane it is possible , you need a seat next to the toilet it is possible . if you flight is ever, delayed , engine problem , SQ will usually accomodate passengers for an over nite stay at hotels with meals vouchers, have you baggage damaged or scratch, you can seek redress .

When there is a problem there will always be on hand someone to soothe your nerve.

For budget airlines, you get peanuts  when you pay peanuts, they cannot accomodate outside their target market of travellers which is young , mobile, no disability, no wheelchair sually accomodated, you pay extra for IFE, meals, drinks, nuts, and when there is flight delay, missed flights, engine trouble, all hell breaks lose, and you feel like you are in a war zone, as all passngers will become like animals, me first, me first, and the airlines will respond very late and very push away responsibility, good luck you are on your own, is the airlines usual response, unless the media is there with their reporters and cameras ready to publish their tardy response.

having said that, budget airlines have to pay low because they charge low and cut out alot of benefits too.

when you work for a budget airline you will feel very dehumanised very quickly, you will be treated like a piece of meat to be flogged to work and get paid very little, where as for singapore SQ and premium airlines , they accomodate stafff at nice hotels , the rewards make the flogging worth while

JQ is very much depends on your roster. You will earn between S$2000-3000 a month. I used to work for them and now with SQ. Pls look at work load and working environment.

I had been alternating between fully-fledged and budget airlines for the past few years.

I had spoken to the cabin crew of Jetstar several times and yes, it is really hard work.

And yes, the remuneration isn't that great too.

Take for example, the flight to Guangzhou.

It leaves Singapore at about 8.30 pm and arrives at 1.30 am before taking the return flight at 2.15 am.

The crew had to sell meals and duty-free goods several times during the flight.

All in, the work day is very long.

In addition from what I've seen recently, there seems to be an increase of PRC passengers on board the flights.

They really don't spend an extra cent on board the flights.

So if the candidate has a choice, go for the full-fledged airlines.

Yes, it is tiring for LCC crew.

Their flight duty period is often fully utilised.

4 short sectors e.g. SIN-KUL-SIN-SGN-SIN or 2 long sectors e.g. SIN-MAA-SIN.

No overnight stop for the LCCs serving regional destination.

However, on some sectors, sales of duty free items or F&B can be quite good.

e.g. on the SIN-PER sector, the sale of liquor is the best because ang mohs love to drink but must control their intake for in flight safety.

IMO most join LCC as a stepping stone.

Once they have some flying experience, better chance of getting selected by the full service carriers.

i would imagine that it's a little harder to get a flight attendant position as a man. usually people prefer women serving them. i guess it just boils down to archetypes. i personally don't really pay much attention to the looks of the staff attending to me. as long as they're as polite as required, im fine.

SQ crew stay over on Bandos Island resorts, Maldives, about 12 minutes fast-boat ride from Male International.  They arrive on the island around noon and by 4 pm some may head to the beach next to the Sundowner bar.

Out of uniform and in swim suits / pants.  Some may go snorkelling and one can swim along too.  Can chat with them and they can be quite nice.

Event he pilots stay on the same island.

Do u guys know SIA is starting to recruit stewards from taiwan and japan?

Either alot of sg guys cant mk it or alot of male fresh grads dun wanna be cabin crew anymore. I think its the latter.

:) its not cos sg guys cant make it. Its becos the manpower law in taiwan make it in such a way, that if we wanna employ the girls, we HAVE to employ the guys as well.

Its kinda "no discrimination" policy :)

Objectively speaking, Taiwanese men are better looking than Sporeans.

Get your facts right before presuming sg guys can't make it or fresh grads do not want the job.

There are tons out there who wants to experience the jet setting lifestyle which pays take home pay sgd4200-6000 a mth. Propects might not be good but it's still a nice experience for a few years.

our sia stewards now look damn good.

i DON'T KNOW ABOUT YOU ,  but if the flight attendant is able to do his job well, has passed all the required safety examinations, emergency flight procedure, can save all the passengers lives in under 90 seconds to evacuate the whole plane, serve my meal orders on time and with a pleasant and courteous attitude , and is fair and kind to all passengers regardless of race or religion,  and can ensure my comfort  on the flight,

I think if he looks like the above or anyone else who looks plain or ordinary, i can accept it,

come on , it very distracting if all the flight stewards are manhunt quality, i probably can work on my computer laptop, cant sleep well , and itchy fingers may keep pressing on his bell , err... pressing on the call button to be served endless rounds of coke on ice.

Hmm i dunno who you are or are you a crew but its true that lesser and lesser young guys (and girls) fresh out of sch wanna be cabin crew anymore. Last time some people will have the thought that go fly a few years before going into corporate world or get a proper grad job but seems like the current grads dun have this thought or mentality anymore.

Just look at the turnout for local recruitment since last year. Turnout is pathetic almost every recruitment as compared to last time where the queues are almost never ending. SQ is treating its cabin crew so badly now, pay is cut, allowances are cut, benefits are cut, they are restricting your stays overseas, now its mostly just fly to overseas, sleep in hotels and once wake up, only a few hrs left before flying bk to sg. So many crew are leaving, the rate is almost like 90 to 100 every month!

:) if you guys think you have what it takes to be an SIA flight attendant (read HEW's description), go join the airline :)

Most importantly you must have an EVER READY GENUINE smile :D to wow our passengers, regardless of race, religion or physical attributes, from the time you don the uniform till you change out.

Its not an easy job dats for sure but when a passenger really thank you for making his/her flight a wonderful and memorable one, all the tiredness is worthwhile :)

Since u know so much about sq cabin crew recruitment and turn over, I'm sure u know the reason for employing Taiwanese guys is due to their local manpower law.

Wondering if u are intentionally leaving that info out to start your own topic or just ignorant.

Hey yup i know they are employing taiwanese but what has it got to do with lesser local guy joining? And if you are the one who stated $4200 to $6000, its not really accurate anymore.

Yes I said its due to their local manpower regulation that sq needs to hire Taiwanese guys but I didn't say it affects sg guy's interest to join.

Some smart Alec tried to imply that it's hard to get quality applicants in sg and also lack of applicants that's why sq is hiring jap and Taiwan guys

And 4200-6000 take home is still the range.

I actually think that SQ is one of the airlines that employs the most male staff as flight attendant. There are always at least 2 or 3 on each flight I've taken so far (about 2 to 3 flights per month). You got a good mix of age, race, shape and colors :)

Recently I think that there are more and more cute and good looking ones (this is subjective of course).

I can't generalize about the staff, but I did know one hot SQ guy about 2 years back. His body was unbelievable and he had a huge cock. I never knew I liked sucking cock until I started hooking up with him. One of the hottest experiences of my life was the day he stripped me down in his kitchen and thrust his throbbing cock in my mouth. After a bit of hot oral, he brought me to his couch and bent me over in front of the balcony. Next thing I knew he was balls deep in my ass thrusting away in plain view of the building next door.

Lack of interest from grads now +

Many crew quitting +

Sq short of crew =

Sq is desperate!

Those who hv dreamed of being a trolley dolley quickly go apply no matter how u look like, in no time u will be saying gracefully 'coffee tea or me?'

Haha. Since there are so little stewards on board a flight, getting a good looking once is purely luck. Add on to that, good looking is subjective to each individual's taste.

I cannot complain about the quality of SQ Crew..

I just have a good look next time I board Jetstar.. even Pachiks (older uncles)... and really CMI/fugly cabin crew..pushing food and duty free along that tiny aisle..

unless he harass you in his course of work then you sld complain.

I have been disturbed by a SIA Cabin Crew.

Hence, may I file a complaint to the work place (addressing to SIA Cabin Crew HR) against their employee for harassment?

If yes, which person or what address shall I sent to.

Please advise,

1. I do not know the crew pass number.
2. I have the picture, phone number and text.

Please help. Private message me.

Thank you.
