I use to shave for hygiene purpose but would usually be more cautious about being expose to others and seeing me hairless. Be it is public toilet or freeballing.

 

Now after seeing a few guys shave. I overcome my inner feeling and don't really heck if people see me being hairless.

Nowadays, there are more guys who are clean shaven, even among my straight friends.

I think that's a common reaction. 

But among straight men, they will look but look away quickily. Among gay men, they will look, stare and gawk. Can be pretty uncomfortable. 

Just ignore the stares (not easy). Be confident with your own body. That's all I can say.
