Sunday Times Hot Bod (14 August 2016)

Danial Bawany, 22

Physiotherapy undergraduate

ST_20160814_zps9bi9qba7.jpg

Height: 1.79m

Weight: 90kg

Exercise Regimen: How I train depends on what sport I am preparing for - strongman, powerlifting or bodybuilding. My training consists of strength and conditioning in the first session, followed by isolation and hypertrophy in the second. On my rest days, I try to keep myself active.

Diet: If I am training for strength, I would have a basic high-calorie diet, containing 50 per cent protein, 35 per cent carbs, and 15 per cent fats. If I am trying to get lean, I will eat more carbohydrates on some days to promote muscle growth, and less carbohydrates on other days to minimise fat gain.

This Danial guy is only 22yo but he looks like 42yo. Aiyoh.

He also looks out of proportion in that photo too. No QA on photo quality at all hor. Tsk tsk. Shame.

Well, he is on the juice. I know how he looks like before. Such a pity that steroid usage is very dominant nowadays. I still prefer guys who are naturally muscular / stocky type.

Everyone is on them these days..well, if you want to win, you got to take it to be at the competitive edge. Furthermore, if everyone is taking and you are not, you will be on the losing end.

Totally....but overdoing it makes it seems too obvious. And especially in Singapore whereby all the bodybuilding competitions are no longer sanctioned by SSC. Therefore, those doping rules no longer being enforced.

Sunday Times Hot Bod (21 August 2016)

Edmund Chan, 52

Sales manager

ST_20160821_zpsc6fvbwxc.jpg

Height: 1.68m

Weight: 76kg

Exercise Regimen: I go to the gym three times a week to work on the treadmill and rowing machine. Rowing is one of my favourite activities for warming up my body. I run on the treadmill for at least 30 minutes each time. I
also do weights six times a week, in which I work on my shoulders, chest, back and legs.

Diet: I'm very strict with what I eat, although I have "cheat" meals twice a week. My breakfast is two slices of wholemeal bread with five hard-boiled eggs, and lunch is brown rice with white meat. I also take pineapples to digest proteins and pineapple enzyme to help with muscle injuries.

Sunday Times Hot Bod (28 August 2016)

Marvin Soh, 25

Assistant manager

ST_20160828_zps4svchdxs.jpg

Height: 1.67m

Weight: 63kg

Exercise Regimen: I do weightlifting six days a week and twice a week, I target different body parts that I want to improve. I lift as much as I can (three-12 repetitions) in the strictest form, as I know that's best for muscle hypertrophy. During my off-season, I tend to try different training programmes to challenge myself to better understand how my body reacts to them. My body takes some time to show results, so I train smartly and with patience.

Diet: Cheat day once a week is fine for me, as long as I keep my food intake relatively "clean" on the other days. I rarely drink alcohol and I avoid fried food while maintaining a ratio of 50:30:20 for carbohydrates, protein and fat. The ratio changes when I am preparing for a physique show, usually with higher protein (around 150g) and lower fat (below 50g).
