I'm off to Bangkok and Hua Hin, in February. My, 1st visit since before Covid.

Now that the Chinese are not visiting in large numbers anymore, I'm expecting a quiet visit.

Other nationalities are visiting in large numbers

I don't think Mainland Chinese gays are scared away from the Media reports. Other non gay Chinese tourists might be.

BKK seems to be the top spot outside of China for gay visits.

Sure, if you go to certain tourist spots or the shopping Malls you should encounter fewer Mainland Chinese.

Hi all! I’m heading for Songkran 2026 in BKK and would love gay-friendly hotel suggestions that are part of GHA Discovery or Bonvoy. Looking for somewhere with a great vibe, inclusive environment, and ideally close to spa, nightlife/scene. Appreciate your recommendations. Thanks

@bonhomie: following your brief / ask.

GHA:

The Sukhothai Bangkok > close to Lumpini and Silom Gay area (gay clubs / bars like GOD, Beef etc. Closest BTS to gay bars etc is Sala Daeng )

NH Bangkok Asoke > Close to Emsphere if you are going for GCircuit party (10 - 13Apr26). Closest BTS is Phrom Phong

Bonvoy:

Le Meridien, W BKK, Ritz Carlton BKK > close to Lumpini and Silom Gay area (gay clubs / bars like GOD, Beef etc. Closest BTS to gay bars etc is Sala Daeng )

Courtyard by Marriott Bangkok Sukhumvit 20, Bangkok Marriott Marquis Queen’s Park, Four Points by Sheraton Bangkok, Sukhumvit 22 > Close to Emsphere if you are going for GCircuit party (10 - 13Apr26). Closest BTS is Phrom Phong

Hello - is anyone else a regular at @SPABANGKOK?

I've used them for years - k-Boy is a favourite - but I'm looking to try someone new.
I really dislike making a bad booking though so I need someone with both good massage skills and a good sensual touch.  Is anyone else a regular here, with a recommendation?

Visited Chakran and Maxwell recently and is quite an experiences especially for first-timer 😁

Maxwell Onsen

The place is near to Silom area and price is reasonable with a free meal included. There are 3 pools, dark steam room and sauna at basement, cafe at level 2 with salt room and meditation room as well. Level 3 is massage area and area to sleep, even comes with 3 massage chair.

Steam room is where most actions took place. And the good thing is many 天菜 level (good looking with nice physique) patrons… you can go for nice food in that area and massage nearby. Tried Avarin massage and masseurs there  have good vibe. But don’t expect 天菜 level but some are still attractive imo. You can choose any masseurs and the boss even joked that can choose anyone except him 😅

Chakran

The place is near Ari station but 5 mins walk into a quiet alley. Price is similar to TMC and comes with free drink. There are several levels but one has to be careful as many steps in darkroom. Rooftop is really happening and the night I went they invited Onlyfans performers to have live sex show. There is a jacuzzi, steam room and sauna at rooftop and many open concept areas and hidden areas for action. The action is so wild and fun but just prefer light fun myself and watching instead. Patrons are mixed but had fun with a local Thai 27 yrs old with fair skin and oppa vibe. Overall is a unique experience to visit such place and compare it with Singapore scene.

I yet to visit other sauna or Onsen hence can’t compare but more like sharing my own experience as first-timer. Hopefully next time can try other famous locations.

Glad you enjoyed the experience.

Sawasdee krub 😅😅🙏🙏🙏

Just back from Bangkok.

Saphan Khwai BTS station seems to be a convenient station. It is the station to 4 establishments, i.e. 39 Underground, 39 Hornet, Phanon Theatre and Kaikan Onsen. Ya, you guessed it. Went to all four.

39Underground - big crowds, cheap entrance fee, lots of white guys now.

39Hornet cafe - paid 100bath for a cuppa. First, went on a Thursday afternoon, moderate crowd. Stayed for an hour. Second time, a Sunday afternoon, very crowded. Left after 10minutes.
Phanon - left after 10minutes. For the 200bath entrance fee, it is totally not worthwhile.

Kaikan - like the atmosphere and setting here more than Maxwell.

Saw a Chinese couple going to 3 of the places on a Sunday afternoon. We got off the BTS station at the same time. Met them again first in Hornet. They left after a while and saw them heading to Underground. Later when I was in Kaikan, saw them again. Not sure if they did the theatre also though... But, ya, a good weekend itinerary in Bangkok

I have tried Chai before last year. Not bad for massage skill and the sensual part.

This is my 1st Visit to Thailand since Covid.

I visited the Magic food Court on the 1st floor.

It is open 24/7

I ordered a cappuccino in the cafe, the lady couldn't be bothered.

She said "No have" just cold drinks from the fridge.

I said what about just a simple cup of tea?

her response 'No Have'.

I'm staying in a lovely airbnb near Asoke Skytrain.

The host owner is Singaporean and you can tell she really cares.

It has everything, she even supplies the basics in the kitchen and even drinks in the fridge.

Because the Thai baht is so strong, I find the food low quality and overpriced.

I'm glad I can use the kitchen in the airbnb for simple and easy food preparation.

The famous fake thai smile is gone and most thai's seem  tired of tourists.

The Malls are good to escape the heat.

I'm looking forward to visiting Hua Hin for the 1st time.

Today I visited (1) Erawan museum with the 3 headed elephant. 500 baht.

                         (2) The ancient city Muangboran                           800 baht.

Both nice to visit , but way over priced for tourists.

The pier 21 food court @ the Terminal 21 shopping mall @ Asoke is worth a visit.

Quality and freshness of the food is outstanding, not to mention the price.

2 plates and a cappuccino 110 baht.

I've spent way more in upscale places and been disappointed.

I went to MBK to get a new face cover for my phone screen.

Quotes ranged from 150 to 300 baht.

If you have time and can be bothered, you can haggle until someone offers to do it at a reasonable price.

I paid 100 baht and probably still payed too much.

Can't trust this guy's reviews, most times it is exaggerated and overrated and looks more like a paid marketing promotion!

Moreover, some of the masseurs there has worked in ATM in JB, so you know the quality.

Just back from Hua Hin.

It's a very sleepy relaxing beach town.

It seemed to be a town full of European retirees.

It's a good idea to prebook online, especially for the trip Hua Hin to Bangkok.

All seats were fully booked.

If you turned up looking to just jump on the next available, it would have been the following day.

Travelled on the bus from Suvarnabhumi airport and then from Hua Hin bus terminal back to the airport.

Hutsadin Elephant foundation is worth a visit.
