Here's a breakdown of the estimated relative quantity of HIV virus in each type of fluid.

So lots of HIV virus in cerebrospinal fluid (which is hard to come into contact with). You can see here that the reason why gay men are so vulnerable to HIV is because there is signifcant amount of HIV virus found in semen as opposed to vaginal/cervical fluid. Plasma virus loads can range depending on whether you are taking drugs.

hiv_body_fluids.jpg

But nonetheless, there are other STDs you can get besides HIV that are pretty dangerous too..... and at best uncomfortable/gross/inconvenient/painful

Based on the chart, viral load exists mostly in the semen.

If this is such the case, how would a negative top gets HIV from a bottom who is positive, when the bottom's semen would not come into contact with the top?

This is through the blood when the anal walls of the bottom tear due to the friction produced during sex.

I don't know but it is only recently that I have been seeing more concerns raised over unprotected oral sex. If that is true then why the porn never show guys sucking on condoms .... Not once ... Strange huh ? I am mot against the measure but just thinking out loud here

You should know that most porn actors have to be tested before they can be in the industry. That's pretty silly to base your assumption that porn actors doing it means it's safe.

Too many gay men make themselves believe that oral sex without condoms has no risk just to avoid the guilt. But the simple truth is: Oral Sex Has Risk of HIV, so do it without condoms AT YOUR OWN RISK.

I am someone who became HIV positive while being a top. Moral of the story is no matter which role you take so long there is an exchange of bodily fluids (semen, mucus, blood, etc.) there is a risk of contracting HIV.

Your courage to out yourself in this forum about your sero status is courageous and your aim to educate those who are ignorant and unsure about ptotecting themselves is admirable.  GOD BLESS YOU.  A CURE may be found just around anytime

Sorry to bump old thread to avoid creating another topic in forum.

I'm wondering if there is any type of std/sti that show symptoms in less than 1 day?

Yesterday early morning suck for a guy raw, it is quite obvious that I tasted his pre cum but didn't allow him to cum in my mouth.

Then noon time I ate some CNY tidbits at home and this morning I notice about 2 small bumps in my lower lip almost invisible but can feel it with my tougue.

1.  About 2 tiny bumps that is near invisible , not super white or super red...about same as my inner lip color.

2. No pain or anything

3. Occur less than 1 day after raw oral contact with pre cum.

Not sure if it is the tidbits or some std/sti symptons that occur less in less than 1 day (possible?)

Any idea? Btw this is just my 4th time and first raw oral contact. Previous 3 times just once in awhile I jerk off for guys so can exclude those.

Well, as long as you had treatment early, its always easier to cure most STDs. (HIV not included)

more correctly, STDs of bacterial origin curable with antibiotics. the viral ones, you can't eradicate the viruses. like herpes, they'll lay dormant, suppressed by your immune system and occassionally erupt when your immunosystem gets compromised. medications available these days just help with resolving the symptoms faster.

the immune system will fight off the symptoms, but for Genital Herpes, it is there, just that you will have no symptoms. However, once you have it, there is a chance of passing to another person by skin touch and high chances if you have bareback!

You could visit AFA for checks for syphilis and Gonorrhea and HIV or other STD test. However speaking from experience, HIV testings are accurate at AFA, however syphilis might not be accurate as it is not due to the fact that AFA's testing kits are not good, it is because syphilis is a master of faking, which means it can look like a lot of other symptoms unrelated to it as it can mutate or hide itself very well without being detected through simple tests. It can only be detected through lab blood test at times. I was tested negative for syphilis at AFA but positive for HIV. However when undergoing treatment, my blood test turns out positive for syphilis as well which cannot tell when did i got it. Syphilis and HIV are closely related in a sense that it is much easier to contract HIV if you have syphilis. Last stage of syphilis can affect your brain and is known as neurosyphilis. So please do go for blood tests for STDs where they can do proper lab tests. You can test for HIV at AFA still.

What does the mild stages of all the various STDs look like? Most people who only have the slightest external symptoms can evade visual detection by others easily in the dark conditiins of saunas. How about AFA provide photos of such so that MSMs will be able to recognise and differentiate between the differently contagious STDs from other non-infectious skin disorders like, say, eczema, psoriasis and dermatitis, etc. ?

There are numerous STIs (sexually-transmitted infections) out there, each with their own signs & symptoms. & one interesting feature is that with some of the infections, there will be people who may not display the symptoms.

For those of us who are sexually active, the best way to find out is to go for screening tests at a clinic, instead of trying to self-diagnose or self-medicate.

sorry to hear dat.

yea, warts can be passed just by contact, so some dude probably passed it to u.

nothing much u can do now, wat's done is done.

we all take our chances when it comes to random sex, so u never know when something like dis may happen to anyone of us.

if u hadn't had any unprotected sex recently or didn't have any open wounds in your mouth, u shld be fine. but good that u went for the blood test to be sure.

don't think too much about it and cause yourself more stress.

u've done what u can for now. good luck on the results.

Don't worry too much. Actually warts can occur anywhere, i.e. hands, arms, sole of foot, lips, etc. It will come and go.

Spit or swallow

Do not wallow. The longer it stays in ur mouth the higher chance you will get infected by infected sperm if you have open sores.

I suggest you do not brush your teeth before sex as it creates more wounds and it won't be enough time to heal.

Oral is more risky than anal. Most guys used condom for anal but hardly anyone used a condom for oral.

That is basically not true. Saliva n the natural acids in the throat n stomach kill the HIV virus. Besides, the linings of the mouth n throat r very resistant to all viral infections. There is risk of HIV only if u have an open sore or a cut in ur mouth or throat. So never brush ur teeth before oral sex in case u scratch the skin.

That said, u still have to b careful because there is a much greater risk with oral sex of the transmission of other STDs. I suggest u read this site -

HIV rarely spreads by fellatio. Gnorrhea and syphilis I belive can. So can herpes sometimes. You probably don't have anything cos a day is an impossibly short incubation time. You're fretting over nothing as some have said

Cogito ergo sum - I think therefore I am.

11 myths about sexually transmitted infections

Source: http://www.independent.co.uk/life-style/love-sex/11-myths-about-sexually-transmitted-infections-10116030.html

97727263.jpg

Sex education is firmly on the agenda at the moment, with a cross-party education select committee recommending that sex and relationships education (SRE) be made statutory in both primary and secondary schools and the secretary of state for education recognising the importance of SRE.

With young people under 25 as one of the groups most at risk of being diagnosed with a sexually transmitted infection (STI), equipping our young people with the knowledge and skills to look after their sexual health and negotiate healthy relationships is vital if we want to stamp out myths like these.

MYTH: Only people with a lot of sexual partners get STIs

STIs don’t care about your sexual history. They can be passed on through unprotected (without a condom) vaginal, anal or oral sex, by genital contact and through sharing sex toys – whether you’ve had sex one or 100 times.

And despite what a lot of people think, STIs don’t only affect young people – diagnoses are on the rise among people over 45.

MYTH: You can always tell if someone has an STI

You might think that it would be obvious if you or a sexual partner has an STI. When we think of STIs many of us think of the obvious symptoms like lumps, bumps, rashes or unpleasant discharge. But often STIs don’t have any signs or symptoms at all (or they might not appear for weeks or months) so a person with an STI might not know they have one if they haven’t been tested.

Even if you don’t have any signs or symptoms it’s a good idea to get tested if you’ve had unprotected sex (without a condom) and, of course, the best way to help protect yourself is to use a condom when you have sex.

MYTH: You don’t need to worry about STIs as treatments are so effective these days

Although STI treatments are very effective, it is always a better idea to avoid getting an STI in the first place. Some viruses like genital herpes and HIV can be treated but remain in the body. There is also evidence that some STIs, such as gonorrhoea, are becoming resistant to antibiotics.

MYTH: You can get an STI from a toilet seat

It’s a persistent myth but getting an STI from a toilet seat isn’t something to be concerned about. STIs are passed on through unprotected vaginal, anal or oral sex, by genital contact and through sharing sex toys. Some STIs, such as pubic lice, can also be spread through skin-to-skin contact or sharing clothes, towels or bedding.

MYTH: Oral contraception can protect against STIs

Oral contraceptives (the pill) are only effective in preventing pregnancy; they can’t stop STIs being passed on. Male and female condoms are the only methods of contraception that will help protect you from getting and passing on STIs when you have oral, vaginal or anal sex. You can also use a plastic square, often known as a dam, to protect yourself if you have oral sex.

MYTH: You can’t get an STI from oral sex

Although the risk of getting an STI through oral sex is generally less than vaginal or anal sex, there is still a risk. Some infections are spread more easily through oral sex than others; the most commonly passed on are herpes simplex, gonorrhoea and syphilis. The best way to help protect yourself during oral sex is to use a male or female condom or a dam to cover your genital area or anus.

MYTH: STI testing is really painful

There is no need to fear getting an STI test. For both men and women they can often be as quick and easy as giving a urine sample, or they might involve a visual examination to look for signs of infection, having blood taken, or using a swab on the genital area – no umbrellas inserted into the penis, we promise! Although they can be uncomfortable for a moment, swabs aren’t painful. And if a swab is needed, some services will offer you the option of using it yourself.

Health professionals don’t look at an STI test as a reflection on your behaviour, but as a sensible health decision.

MYTH: You have to pay for STI tests and treatment

All STI tests and treatment are free through the NHS at genitourinary medicine (GUM) or sexual health clinics. You can find your nearest service by using FPA’s Find a clinic tool. Many GPs offer free STI testing as well, although you may have to pay a prescription charge for any treatment.

In England, the National Chlamydia Screening Programme offers testing for young people under 25 at various locations around the country and also gives out free home testing kits.

MYTH: Only gay men and drug users get HIV

HIV is a virus which can be transmitted in various ways, including through sex. It doesn’t matter what sexual orientation or gender you are, or whether you have had lots of sexual partners; anyone who is sexually active can be at risk of HIV. It’s estimated that just under 108,000 people are living with HIV in the UK, but around one-quarter don’t know that they have the virus.

MYTH: STIs will go away on their own

It’s very unlikely that an STI will go away by itself and if you delay seeking treatment you risk the infection causing long-term problems. There is also a risk of passing on the infections to partners, even if you don’t have any signs or symptoms at the time.

MYTH: Once you’ve had an STI you can’t get the same one again

It is possible to get the same STI more than once; having the infection doesn’t mean you’re protected in future. Viruses like genital herpes and HIV remain in the body but can be managed through effective treatments.

IF you

a. have an itch that should not be there especially in the nether regions

b. Have a growth anywhere which is not normal

c. Develop a rash anywhere on your body

d. Feel unwell even if not outright sick yet

e. Feel pain anywhere that could become worse from cruising activities

For the love of cock, if any of the above symptoms are present, GO GET YOURSELF CHECKED OUT MEDICALLY AND SPARE THE REST OF US YOUR MALADIES! Otherwise, JUST STAY HOME!!!

Imagine if we're halfway in the hot and heavy and you pass out or need medical attention. How on earth are we supposed to manage that? Particularly for the discreet. And we sure as hell don't want whatever it is you have! C'mon. Fair's fair. Not disclosing this information is highly detrimental to everyone engaged in this activity.

Goes without saying that if you're diseased, you would be responsible enough NOT to spread it just to settle some horny. We're sympathetic but don't want to share the boat.

I recently got infected with Gonorrhoea. Am taking antibiotics now after seeing the doc at DSC.

I told the doc my most recent partner was someone I met in the steam room of a gym. We did nothing except letting him touch my penis head with his bare hands and I returned the favor by rubbing his dick but without direct contact. He wrapped himself with a towel.

I'm quite sure I got it from him because the symptoms started surfacing 3 days after the incident. But the nurse, doc, counselor all gave me different answers. One of them said it's impossible to get inflected with touching while another claimed that it's still possible if there is discharge on his hands at that time. Or I could have gotten it from someone else whom I had exposure with going as far back as one year ago. I'm totally confused! :frustrated:

I would like to seek advice from those who got infected before.

  1. How long does it take for the symptoms to appear in your previous case?
  2. How do we protect ourselves in future if Gonorrhoea can really spread by touching from an irresponsible inflected person?
  3. Will this lead to other STDs? I want to test for the rest of STDs but I have to wait for the window period to lapse. :(
  4. Any other advice

Sorry, I would rather hear from those who had been there done that than those with baseless assumptions. I have seen too many such comments on other threads.

Thanks in advance.

People whom get gonorrhoea i heard the sperms will get rotten. Yellowish rotten liquids will ooze out from your cock eye. The cock head aka your mushroom will also get rotten with yellowish things. The yellowish liquids are very smelly one. Others will be able to smell the rotten smell if stand very close to you. Indeed very scary scene. That's why dont fuck around.

Symptoms in men, if they do appear, generally become noticeable 2 to 10 days after being infected by the bacteria. However, in some cases, it might go beyond that window period.

I hope you understand that you are one of the irresponsible person to subject yourself to such risky situation. To protect yourself, stop such random hookup/fun. That is the only sure way to prevent getting infected.

If you can't sustain from having such fun, use a condom when you are engaging in sex or oral sex. Many people tend to overlook the fact that a blowjob can pass on many STDs. However, do take note that it is not foolproof by using a condom. It merely reduces the risk.

It will not lead to other STDs. The strain of bacteria does not cause other STDs.

Some questions:

What symptoms prompted you to visit the doctor?

Other than this sexual encounter, have you engaged in any other fun?

Please refrain from sex at least for a week after the completion of antibiotics. Do ensure that the antibiotics is taking effect since it appears that the medicine is becoming less effective against the bacteria as the latter gains resistance. The medicine can cure you, but it doesnt undo any damages done. So I hope you did seek treatment early.

Please note that you are still at risk of getting gonorrhea in the future despite being cured this time round.

Bummer.

I think the most likely scenario is that you touched or scratched your eyes after touching the infected area?

But what's done, is done. No need for admonition.

Focus on the treatment.

Be socially responsible and stay out of the circuit

Good luck

Agree w Wantonmee, treatment first

but still I hve to raise that : u went all the way - just a touch @the gym's steam rm?
Did the nurse/doc/counsellor buy that?

I don't

I have similar illness - nothing to b disgrace, I m a cut as u can see from my photo
I m confident I don't spread
and at earlier stage, I only went for blowing(as a top, of course they blew me), not so much for penetrative sex but ended up I got it!
It s so unfair

Touching is not too possible* and in a steam room, there are sweat and water that can easily removed away what was touched
(I was fucking someone just now, he was sweating inside an aircon rm , while I m trembling w cold , good that my dick is shield from cold by the condom)
Gonno is not years back (so don't blame that person)
and The bacteria can also grow in the mouth, throat, and anus.(it takes time to grow on an exposed area like fingers/hands/palms -> so totally NOT possible)

It usu erupted 1-3 days, so it is good
Do u still feel pain in your balls? or feeling something strange in scrotrum? for sure I have no pain during urination but the colouring is strange

and it should easily recover by either an injection or new medicine within 3 days, definitely

and by the way, I have docs (who are confident in these area) in those pte clinics whom  I can email , so trust me what I have shared above is not going to differ much  from other professnl help

I m equally paranoid but they always provide me w gd answers and support by email - cos I will always email before I pay them a visit, sometimes it is due to skin irritation due to soap etc reasons

Qn3&4 is not valid-nothing to fret
to prevent it again, try not to let someone blow u randomly and if u want it so much from a non-regular partner, w condom them but..........

and I have a fren who has anal wart, he claimed that it was pores or pus, anyway I suggested him to go DSc, tada, I won!
it s anal wart and he has to go thru the nitrogen treatment
there are many who refuse to believe in my analysis
Actually ordinary clinic shd be able to solve your issue, why did u choose to go DSC? so that they could counsel u ? trust me, they wont buy it loh
Did they took some sample from your penis?
(and excuse me I have no such warts, touchwd)

* : from famous websites like CDC WMD

How is gonorrhea spread?

You can get gonorrhea by having vaginal, anal, or oral sex with someone who has gonorrhea. A pregnant woman(http://www.cdc.gov/std/pregnancy/stdfact-pregnancy.htm) with gonorrhea can give the infection to her baby during childbirth.

The infection is transmitted through sexual contact with an infected person involving the penis, vagina, anus or mouth.
Men and women experience some differing symptoms which include:1-3

Men: http://www.medicalnewstoday.com/articles/155653.php#causes_of_gonorrhea

  • White, yellow or green urethral discharge, resembling pus
  • Pain in the testicles or scrotum
  • Painful and/or frequent urination
  • Anal discharge, itching, pain, bleeding, or pain with passing bowel movements
  • Sore throat, itching, difficulty swallowing or swollen neck lymph nodes
  • Eye pain, light sensitivity and/or eye discharge resembling pus
