Btw, does any1 know what kind of fish is used to cook slice fish porridge?

Just get any packed boneless fish fillet from the supermarket will do.. maybe I'll skip salmon for porridge.. the rest will be fine..

just remember to marinate the fish with light soy sauce before cooking.. trust me.. will surely taste awesome ;)

Jcho : sounds like Jay Chou,
it s batang (probably malay) or sang yu(生鱼)

but I agree w silverwing  , any strip of fish fillet tht u can purchase from ntuc or any mkt should the be right one

just that I don't like stalls selling them coating with flour to make it "smoother" /slimy (nothing wrong, but ...)

eg when pan-frying

豆豉Fish, pp tend to coat a flour too

@lovehandle Hmm, it will then be called Jay Chow porridge.

Could be Batang fish or maybe cod according to a recipe from the web.

Anyway, thank you very much guys and have a nice dinner.

It's typically Snakehead when cooked by the Cantonese. Can buy best value at Chinatown Complex wet market in basement, where they'd label it as 生鱼...

No, am a lazy cook.

I just dump the chicken drumsticks with the rest of the ingredients into my roasting pan to cook for about 30 minutes... somehow, it does taste nice :)

Friendly is the expert here, and he is right.

Having say what comes to my mind.. nothing taste as good as home cook..lor

Jcho if you like to put everything into your roasting pan and just let it cook.. i have a chilli paste for this way of cooking.

If you are interested PM me and i would be proud and happy  to give you the recipe for the chilli paste which is direct from grandmother.

The paste can be use to cook bake curry chicken,BBQ fish and others. You can make the chilli paste and freeze it and use it when ever needed. And btw for BBQ just put the chilli paste onto the fish and dump it into your oven.. ha ha.. cheers

@Friendly, I don't think I need your chilli paste recipe as I seldom cook spicy food. Thank you very much.

However, I believe the rest here may be interested to know how it is made.

This is really yummilicious, packed with nutrients and good for your heart.

I take it regularly for breakfast or as a dessert after a meal.

Highly recommended!

Herbal Black Chicken Soup... it actually tastes quite nice.

Herbal%2BChicken2.jpg

Looks good . For me I like to mix my own herbs, if I buy the ready pack herbs I normally use half a pack of herbs only for one small black chicken reason this herbs are heaty, so onces a month for this dish is ok. Very good for health. Cheers
