Ne1 goin 4 a swim at clementi pool?

You swim at Clementi often? What time do you usually swim there?

Just wondering, since I have not been to the pool since it reopened:

Do I have to exit the swimming complex by the end of the 1 hour swim slot, or I can swim for one hour before changing, then exit the swimming complex slightly after the allocated 1 hour swim slot?

1 hour swim slot includes changing and shower time.  So give urself time to change and exit the pool within the swim slot allocated. (Before next slot swimmers come in)

Thanks!

If 50m as one lap, for amateur swimmers like me, already happy able to swim nonstop 1100m (12laps) to 1300m (16laps) 😅 think depends on how ready you are ( took off shirts, quick shower before ready for the pool) and how fast you are.

Bought a swimming cap because I want to protect my hair from chlorine.

But don't feel like wearing it because it feels suffocating on my head. Does it helps if I apply hair oil for protection instead?

Btw any of you using garmin forerunner series to track your pool swimming? Have you guyd encounter issue to record the distance accurately? Mine often recorded extra or lesser diatance from 50m up to 200m.

How can I improve the accuracy of the swim distance recorded on my device?

To decrease the amount of discrepancies ensure the following:

  • If resting between lengths, use rest intervals

  • Use a strong push-off from the wall with a long streamlining (glide) phase

  • Swim continuously throughout the length at a consistent pace

  • Use one stroke type throughout each length

  • Continue to strive for a consistent stroke pattern

  • Try switching the watch to the other wrist

  • Use drill log for drills that affect arm movement
    • If drill log is not available; use rest intervals for drills that affect arm movement.

  • If missing lengths as a strong swimmer, consider using a standard-sized pool

  • Use one of the four recognized competitive stroke types
    • The four recognized competitive stroke types are freestyle, breaststroke, backstroke, and butterfly stroke.

As swimming technique improves with the use of the above instructions, distance accuracy will improve.

If 50m is 1 lap, then usually between 36 to 40 laps, depending on my mood and physical condition.

That's pretty good. How long does it take you to do that?

For those of you who swim at Safra pools, do they allow the public to buy ticket & use the pool? I was at the MF pool today & saw quite a number of children there (one boy & his grandpa, three girls & their mum...). Are these people considered as members? I thought according to the Safra website:

Ah icic. I don't swim at the ActiveSG public pools in general because of the need to do booking and time limit. Although i can swim within the time limit, but just don't like the idea of having that self concious to keep checking on the time...

Indeed. Unfortunately they are not taking public entry for the time being due to the reduced capacity.

True

no guests allowed etc

in the past, did they allow even non-guests?  As in public public?

How do yall maximise ur swim time at the pool?  Swim faster / harder?  Exercise before or after swim? Swim more often etc?

Depends on what you want to get from the maximising. If your goal is to lose weight then swimming harder and faster will lead to that. If you wanna just enjoy your session...even slow swimming can be consider maximising your swim time.
